Idk about that. It's really easy to sound crazy that way.I think the way to get public support is not necessarily convincing them that vaping is safer, because people who have no interest in it tend to just believe what they hear in the media. They are not going to put that much effort into researching it for themselves, because they simply don't care. I think the angle that may get the best result is about government ruling our lives and telling us what we can and can't do. People in this country have had ENOUGH of that - both liberal and conservative, imo.
Anti-vaccers do not have the RCP and PHE behind their claims.Idk about that. It's really easy to sound crazy that way.
Anti-vaccers come to mind.

I don't think it would be hard at all honestly. Put in a guy to head up the DHHS who will get an FDA administrator to tear up those regulations. It really wouldn't take much at all.
I think either approach is fine. But I see this FDA move as purely power and money. I don't think we stand a chance of winning the money game. BT/BP has a whole lot more than the vaping community. But we do have a chance on the power front. Nothing scares a politician more than an inbox full of emails threatening their electability. They know no amount of BT/BP money can switch those voters.Idk about that. It's really easy to sound crazy that way.

The FDA Deeming Regs just announced could be etched in stone. But regulators and legislators can craft laws and regs to unetch them as fast as they got etched. In other words, Washington can do whatever it damn well pleases. This is why many of our current laws are unconstitutional.I agree. All the 3 and 4 letter agencies are the executive branch. Many of the regulations set forth by them are THEIR 'interpretation' of what Congress passed. There have been many instances where congress representatives have seen the regulation and have said (even the sponsors and co-sponsors - and esp. with the EPA) "That is NOT what we intended!" And sometimes they make a new law stating that. Otherwise it's up to the executive how some law will be 'executed'.
So any President could appoint someone who would wipe out the deeming. In this case, all that would have to be said is that at the time that the Family Tobacco Control Act was passed, ecigarettes were virtually non-existent, there was no discussion in the House or the Senate about them, so there is no way they would have been part of that Act. And they are not, in fact, 'tobacco products'.
Fade in to a funeral: scene of a distraught child - voiceover : this is bobby, bobby would have had a father if he hadn't gone back to smoking after he had successfully quit using our vapor product and then had it removed by your government. Think of the children who will be parentless due to government over-regulations. Stop over-zeller-ous regulations now. Think of bobby.

Yucca is a good example of the people scaring the pols.I could be Wrong in this. But I Don't Think any Regulations are Etched in Stone. But it would take Political Backbone from the Office of the President and Bi-Partisan Support by Congress.
And Political Backbone and getting Bi-Partisan Support on Important Issues seem to be about as Easy as Figuring Out what do about Yucca Mountain.
There are plenty of us "grey heads" out there to fil-um.![]()

If this has been posted already, please accept my apologies for not reading back. GREAT find, @Katdarling , and one that could be a break in the clouds for our cause.
It’s Time for Presidential Candidates to Weigh In on the Overregulation of Vapor Products
ATR is an active and known entity, with at least some influence with the representatives. Their words are strong, supportive, and could possibly be attention-getting. What this tells me is that they're hearing us.
It's one worth sharing. A lot.
Keep the pressure ON.
