This is a response I got on FB about one of my posts.
"Vapor products are killing children, especially under 2 years of age."
Just one sentence. I blasted back with 10. LOL. People are such sheep. She is an exsmoker. I kind of expect that from the these types.

Want to really make 'em be quiet? Tell them to list each occurrence. Bet they can't come up with more than a half dozen, if that.

not sure why you would expect it from an ex-smoker as most of us here are ex-smokers o_O personally I find it comes from a source of ignorance or "the lie" someone latches on to because it supports their strong anti-smoking stance more than anything else.

When I still smoked I frequently encountered ex-smokers with a holier-than-thou attitude, with no compassion for those still struggling with an addiction they were lucky enough to overcome. One of the things I have always liked about the vaping community is the support and the recognition of how difficult it is to get off of cigarettes.

Get real. People like that don't want their opinion clouded by facts.

One child. One death about a year ago. Due to negligence on the adults that are supposed to supervise. Nicotine left on a coffee table within reach of the child and the cap was never found.

As Robin said, one, and no autopsy was performed so it is just assumed that the death was a result of the open bottle of concentrated nicotine.

It's that kind of attitude that infuriates me. Since when did she become more intelligent than you are? What about all of the products currently in her home that kill children?

Most Common Substances Implicated in Poison Exposures?
Cosmetics and personal care products lead the list of the most common substances implicated in pediatric exposures (children younger than 6 years, NPDS, 2014). Cleaning substances and pain medications follow. These exposures are nearly always unintentional.

Shared on FB. Thank you. I also shared the numbers for stinkies, ecig juice and tide pods.

There is an assumption that everybody wants to overcome it.

Personally, I smoked (and now vape) because I benefited from the use of nicotine and enjoy it. It helps my focus and mood, and gives me energy. This is the same reason I drink coffee in the morning, and consider nicotine and caffeine to be very similar.

It is vital that we keep these deadly products away from the children.

We should immediately ban cosmetics and personal care products. At a minimum, require that manufacturers of these products immediately submit a Pre-Market Cosmetics Application (PMCA) to the FDA with evidence that proves said cosmetic will not be appealing to children.

They have 2 years, and if not approved, the cosmetic will be pulled from the market and subject to FDA enforcement action.

I'm writing Feinstein and Boxer right now to push for this. They have expressed their stance that children MUST be protected at all costs. Look at those numbers? How can you NOT act to protect the children?!?

I also adore the statistics, "reports of nicotine poisonings in children have increased eleventy billion percent since 2010" or something like that. It's like saying "airplane crashes increased 8 bazillion percent from 1902 to 1912".

Also, they never mention what happened with these 'reports'. How many calls were just grandma freaking out because the kid came within 2 feet of an ecig, or a kid got a little liquid on his hand and mama washed it off then panicked for no good reason and called poison control? How many actually had any sort of detectable outcome of any kind?
