More information please! This is being painted over because of US!!!!
One thing I Never Understood about the Age Limit "Debate" is aren't Regular Cigarettes Illegal for Minors to buy? But somehow Minors are Getting them.
So why would there be any Difference with Minors getting ahold of e-Cigarettes?
Seems like if some Kid can get Smokes with No Problems, I'm not sure why it should be a Problem getting ahold of e-Cigarettes?
This is all they'd have to do to be accurate... well, and paint over the phone number since it leads nowhere.View attachment 572583 This is being painted over because of US!!!! keep fighting and do not give up.
The FDA understands the view that some teens get hooked on cigs by the fact that (with parental consent and doctor's ok) they can get Nicorette or patches at 12 years old IF needed. If the deeming somehow gets blocked, they should include ecigs as well.
Should and Shouldn't are Relative Terms.
Should e-Cigarettes and e-Liquids have to go thru the Extensive and Strenuous testing that Nicorette and the Patch went thru?
And does this all get back to a Drug vs the Recreational Use of "Tobacco Products"?
And whether or Not there are any Legal Protections for the Recreational Use of a "Tobacco Product" for Minors?
Yeah, you're right. Just saying that if the FDA wanted to actually help teens with a cigarette problem, telling the truth about ecigs would be a good start for their cessation attempts. Ultimately, either the teens or their parents would find a way, without any help from the gov't.
I have a huge problem with the govt interfering with parental rights to raise their kids as they see fit. Thinking about the case where in some states it is a criminal offense for a parent to buy their children ecigs to help them quit smoking. Huge problem with it.Yeah, you're right. It's all about keeping America smoking... That's all ya need to know ...I think if the FDA Truly wanted to Improve Public Health, and to Responsibly Use the Authority that Congress has given/entrusted them with, that Telling the Truth would be of Paramount Importance. And Science would Dictate Policy.
But that Isn't the FDA or HSS that we have Now.
Perhaps in Subsequent administrations, the FDA can get Back to Improving Public Health. But I Don't see that Happing in the Next 4 Years.
It's Sad Really. Because we are Talking about People's Health and Lives.

Heh, heh, I use as many comma's as it takes.![]()
Something about this subject lends itself to massive run-on sentences.I'm with you.
I just think that somewhere, Grammer Girl just had an Aneurysm.
LOL
It's discussed extensively HERE, beginning with post #11178.More information please!
Huh?If all it is is Tax Monies, or more precisely, the Shortfall in those Tax Monies that e-Cigarettes have created, then Maybe in the Long Run it would have been Better, for Public Health, to have just Given the those Tax Monies from Day One?
Damn... Is it Allowed to use 5 commas in 1 Sentence? LOL

It seems that if you call the number on the billboard you get the complete runaround, they don't know about the billboard, they can't figure out why you're calling, and they can't refer you to anybody who knows anything about the billboard or who can "help" you to quit vaping. Nice way to spend public funds in Detroit, whose government is, it would appear, awash with money.
It's not as if we had a choice about the taxes, and that still wouldn't have stopped the FDA. I'm convinced one of the main motivations for the FDA is to condense vaping into something that is manageable. It's much easier to track, control, tax a few companies selling maybe a dozen products than it would be to control thousands of "manufacturers" selling tens of thousands of products. If all it is is Tax Monies, or more precisely, the Shortfall in those Tax Monies that e-Cigarettes have created, then Maybe in the Long Run it would have been Better, for Public Health, to have just Given the those Tax Monies from Day One?

It wasn't all the commas it was the garbled punch lineI used 5 Commas when I wrote that Post.
