Good to know, never thought there was anything Boehner and I would agree on but seems e-cigs it is! LOL
Back in the late 80's/early 90's I worked a convention for RJ Reynolds. It was labor negotiations with the union if memory serves.
Among the specs for room set-ups was one ashtray for every two attendees (this was back in the days before smoking was banned in private function areas, maybe not even yet in all public areas)
And I'll tell ya what,,,,, these folks smoked A LOT, an insane amount. At every two hour or so break every ashtray was full or over flowing. I also noticed that almost every cigarette wasn't smoke any more then half down down.
I forget the details but all office person had X amount of the brand of their choice placed on their desk every morning with extras on Fridays.
When the convention ended they gave Me 8 cartons of Camel filters as a gratuity.

I remember that - it was believed that the second half of the cig was worse to smoke - higher tar and such...
Back in my "military days", I actually smoked less when I could do so at my desk. I'd get busy doing something and the cigarette would burn out or go out. An hour later, I'd light up another one, and the next crisis would hit causing me to put it down in the ashtray again.
When they came up with the brilliant idea of forcing all the smokers to go outside, we actually started to smoke more as we made sure we finished that entire cigarette before going back inside.
Same here. I can still hear the chief yelling "Smoking lamp is lit."
I am so totally with you it's not even funny.I'll reiterate. For some of us (like me), e-liquid is what hurts more than the gear. I can go out and buy enough gear to last me till I die. And yes, I can stock up on liquid but it has a shelf life. It doesn't last forever and I dont care what anyone says. Freezing extends the shelf life but not forever. Nothing lasts forever. And sadly, I am super finicky with my juice to the point where there are only two I actually enjoy. And yes, I've sampled hundreds of flavors. So I have zero confidence I can DIY anything I would like (not to mention DIY ingredients have a shelf life). So to me, it is the limits on liquid that hurt me far more than gear.
And let's not get into an argument about liquid shelf life. We've been there countless times and we've all formed our own opinions so I don't want to go down that road again. Thank you.
How about facts instead of opinions. From our resident chemist, Kurt, who tests his nic for nic level when he removes it from the freezer:
"I have every reason to believe VG-nic will last essentially forever unchanged in the freezer and in glass. If 6.75 years shows no change, I don't see at all why it shouldn't last for decades."

I can understand that you might not believe him, which, in that case, I have nothing more to say.... but others who are not aware of the post, should look it over and decide for themselves.

It's beyond believing/disbelieving Kurt. I'd like the opinion of more than one chemist. I'd like a study done by a reputable research outfit. And I'm not sure I want to dedicate freezer space to store decades worth of DIY anyway. Some have no problem with messing around with DIY. I say knock your socks off. For me, I'd rather expend that energy on figuring out how to go without. But then if the Ruskies launched their nukes at us I'm the kind that would look in the sky to determine where one will land and then run to that spot. Screw bunkers. I don't want to live through a nuclear world. Just me.
Yep, in only a few sentences it can be done. Anyone who wants to know how simple and shallow I am can get all they need to know from reading that brief post. But I would recommend they not take the 7.56 seconds to read it. That's 7.56 seconds of their life they will never get back.Thanks for giving us some insight into your psyche.
Bronze, it's folks like you whom I really feel for with all this mess before us. You shouldn't have to give up the things you found that helped you, and that you enjoy, on your path away from the smoke. This is the crux of the injustice before us. This grass roots industry latched onto a seemingly benign method of replacing the harm that tobacco was in our lives, and did so without any government interference, till the FDA god a bug up their britches and decided to upset the apple cart. It is truly unfortunate that we are seeing our trusted vendors struggling and going by the wayside, and wondering how many folks which relied on their products and services will be left in the lurch.
Nobody should have to learn to DIY and stockpile an unknown amount of things to keep enjoying their freedom from tobacco harm. It reminds me of an old Tareyton add
ha, haven't thought about tareyton in a long time. Those were what my mom smoked that I first snuck when I was a kid.
Weren't they the ones with the charcoal filter?

Tareyton's filter features a unique two-part design of fiber and activated charcoal.
According to me trying them one time when I bummed them off of someone - learned real quick that Tareyton was not my cancer stick of choice...

Didn't take me long to graduate to a much stronger cigarette unfortunately. If you don't like dessert favors cover your eyes if I'm ever writing about juice. Similar threads
