Ooooh.... That's cold. And, my parents got divorced right AFTER my dad's company stock went public and quite wild. They were both millionaires and my dad was like, about 6 months later... "I'm done here."

Now I'm anxious that I'm just THINKING I'm in a happy marriage and it's lack of funding that is stopping the Husband from leaving.... Sigh. Maybe I should buy another mod??? :D Keep us nice and in the poorhouse? I seriously am anxious this morning, for whatever reason, but now I have a new thing to be anxious about... LOL. Time to visualize some "death practice" to cheer me up, one day I will not be thinking about these types of things!

I'd be tickled to death with just a couple hundred thousand. I wouldn't want the headaches associated with dealing with multi millions.
I'll take it. I know what to do with it.
RETIRE IMMEDIATELY!!!

The odds are something like 275 million to one. As a stats major, I'll just keep my $1, thank you very much.
I've taken plenty of statistics courses in college.
And I always try to buy one lottery ticket when I can remember to.
(which is rarely)

My theory is that if God wants me to win, I'll only need one ticket.
(they don't teach that in statistics)

But in the end, you can't win if you don't play.

One ticket, every few months.
Because that's about as often as I can remember to buy one.
;)

I'll take it. I know what to do with it.
By the way, here is a list of some of my favorite charities...

--Meals on Wheels
--Unbound.org
--Old Dog Haven
--Toys for Tots
--Humane Society
--HopeForPaws.org

Shameless plugs...
Just in case anyone has a few bucks to spare...
:)

I used to really like Heifer International, but I hear there MAY be problems with that.
Not sure, but I don't have the time to do the research.

EDIT: I'm going to throw out a couple of others that my father donated to
EDIT: Smile Train, Father Joe's Village, Plan International

EDIT: The soft spot in my heart is for Old Dog Haven
EDIT: But there's something here for everyone, just Google them
EDIT: :)

I have supported Toys for Tots every year since I was in the Navy back in the 70s. I like the idea of knowing some kid is going to get whatever I buy, and that X(X) percentage isnt going towards supporting overhead.

So, I tend to speed read. 99% of the time, I do quite nicely. This time, I caught "Toys for Tots" (great program, BTW), and thought I read XXX.

XXX toys? Really...

Did a double take...

Interesting article, Zoidiman.... So we have two regulatory agencies after us now?? Great... Though I have to say battery safety is important and I'd like it if vape shops stopped selling high power devices with rewrapped batteries, it would be nice if they did that voluntarily, but life is... Life. Also, TY for bringing us back on topic and I apologize :)

The CPSC has broad Authority over just about Every Consumer Product sold in the USA. And there can be Authority Overlap between agencies.

Whereas the CPSC isn't going to per sey be involved with e-Liquids, that will fall almost entirely on the FDA. If a product contains a Battery, you can bet that the CPSC will have some degree of Involvement.

It is not at all uncommon for multiple agencies to have overlapping jurisdiction.

OSHA often will refer to standards of another agency in establishing their own standards.
For example an OSHA reg might stipulate that PPE must meet a specific NFPA 70E standard, or a specific NEC code. While the NFPA and the NEC are not a government agency, this just a good example.

Agencies will often defer to a more qualified agency by simple citing the other agencies regs as minimum requirement of their own.

I could see the FDA ultimately citing certain CPSC regs as minimum requirements within a specific FDA reg.

...

Where the Problems arise is when 2 (or More!) Agencies believe they have Authority over some product, but Disagree on what Enforcement is Needed and or Required.

Yes, in such cases it almost always the (non-government) Defendant that suffers the most.

Yeah... Or maybe the CPSC will Restrict the Sale of Mech Mods?

Who's to say?
That, I fear, is not an unreasonable prediction.

I can easily see the argument being made:
How else can you ensure battery safety if you dont have some sort of regulation and/or protection circuit. (Argued from a government protecting us POV)

Pretty soon we will be forced to live in a little bubble wrapped world. Already talks about instituting autonomous vehicles. Personal freedom slowly eroded so it's acceptable by the masses. Tell me it's dangerous but don't take my choice away. If I want to use my clackers or lawn darts then that's the choice I make.

I still have both. Lol

And a 1988 "Specially Constructed Vehicle". I'll bet I couldn't scratch build and get a real title to drive a vehicle on the road nowadays.

Oh well at least I could take battery packs apart and build my own mods like some used to do in the early years.

I look for more regulation on what I cannot print with my 3D printer as they become more mainstream.
