Pretty soon we will be forced to live in a little bubble wrapped world. Already talks about instituting autonomous vehicles. Personal freedom slowly eroded so it's acceptable by the masses. Tell me it's dangerous but don't take my choice away. If I want to use my clackers or lawn darts then that's the choice I make.
I'm old enough to remember both of those nifty toys.

Lawn darts, LOL. I never used them but the husband did, at a birthday party once. What do you know, the kids were shooting them up in the air (egged on by the birthday boy) and birthday boy ended up with one sticking straight out of his forehead. Kinda put a damper on the birthday party, I think.

They still shouldn't be regulated, no one lost an eye.... I'm amazed that airsoft guns and BB guns are still around, actually. We always made the kids wear protective gear, and my son's a good enough shot that when he asked to "go get a rabbit" in total innocence I said yes, thinking "this will never happen."

15 minutes later my kid returned with a rabbit, and I had to hastily research whether it was even edible, and how to skin, disembowel and cook a rabbit, that was a "yes" that I have regretted for a long time....

The rabbit wasn't too bad, actually. :)

One dumb kid throws a lawn dart straight up in the air and takes a direct hit upside the head, and ruins it for us all.

Lawn darts were damned fun!
eBay took mine off of auction:( I had bids going into $71.00, I didn't know at the time that they were banned.

I wrote to the FDA.... Someone wrote me back, LOL. They were "delighted" to hear my comments and encourage all "nicotine" user's participation and feedback about harm reduction devices. They encouraged me to ask other vapers or tobacco users to write in with comments, so I am doing so. :)

They also couldn't quite seem to separate "nicotine" from "tobacco" though: "Ultimately, we hope that placing nicotine, and the issue of addiction, at the center of the agency's tobacco regulation efforts will have a positive impact on public health." I have no idea what this statement means, other than, "We haven't quite decided yet."

But hey, someone read something, they even got my name right (often unusual with the senator staffer crowd).

When I was just a kid, a friend and I would go into where they were building new houses and find a chunk of roofing tar, and chew it, for some reason we liked it, don't ask me why now tho.
You were the odd kid wasn't ya?

Not only did I ride my bike without a helmet, me, sibs, and all the neighborhood kids started this game where it was a "trap the person" situation, so we were running all over the neighborhood, parking our bikes in the CENTER of the road (right in the center, LOL) to act as an additional "blocker" and running around all over in the middle of the roads in that neighborhood.

None of the adults ever complained, LOL, though sometimes they had quite a "maneuver" around abandoned bicycles, shoes, whatever we decided to use to "block" someone in.

Now I'm reading this it sounds kinda dangerous, but we had a lot of fun with it. You know. I can't imagine letting kids do that *here* especially now our elderly snowbirds are back, it would probably end up in a lawsuit or something, but different times, eh?

It really was a clever idea, kind of like an expanded, crafty version of tag. On bikes. Without helmets, and running without shoes....

We also put my little sister on stilts without the right kind of preparation. She fell face first onto the sidewalk, and lost her two front teeth (luckily not the permanent ones) but she was toothless in front for a year or two. That was my older brother's idea, I felt it was a bad one, but of course he won the argument.... We ALL got punished though, except for my sis. :)

Nostalgia....

We had a tether ball pole on the playground of my elementary school. I remember getting nailed more than once with that ball. o_O Didn't stop me from playing though. It was all part of the game. Taught you to be observant and duck when necessary. Kind of how real life is sometimes. ;)

So now we have four years, before any PMTA's are due. At the end of the press conference, Zeller said that they would have a Q&A session in a week, it has now been several weeks , and...crickets...@stols001, forgive me, but I don,t trust a word out of anyone in the FDA's mouth. We wrote them and commented at the appropriate time regarding the deeming, and it felt like they took what we said and used it to craft the most damaging legislation against vaping imaginable. I don't like them, I don't trust them.
