Sounds like the rock fights we had when we were kids. Heaved rocks at each other until the first kid got hit and ran home bloody screaming for his mommy. Still not sure I'm any smarter.
You ever shoot an arrow strait up in the air, funny thing as it seems to dissapear, then you can see it turn, then it disappears again, until it's almost back to terra firma. You only get a split second to step out of its path...

So now we have four years, before any PMTA's are due. At the end of the press conference, Zeller said that they would have a Q&A session in a week, it has now been several weeks , and...crickets...@stols001, forgive me, but I don,t trust a word out of anyone in the FDA's mouth. We wrote them and commented at the appropriate time regarding the deeming, and it felt like they took what we said and used it to craft the most damaging legislation against vaping imaginable. I don't like them, I don't trust them.
I don't trust anyone whop works for the government.

But maybe I can channel Bill Godshall and say: This is no longer "Obama's FDA". ;)

Truth be told, they are just giving BT time to get their act together.......
As far as I am concerned nothing has changed. At least for my well being and ability to do as I please as an adult in a free society. The extension could very well do more harm to us because it kicks the can down the road just far enough where nobody feels any urgency to fight it.

JMO. But I Don't think BT needs more time.

I think they were/are Fully Prepared for an August 8th 2018 Drop Dead date.

Nothing.

But I think we have turned a corner Science-wise. And are starting to see Studies Results that are Less Based on Hype and Agenda. And more Based on Facts.

So in that sense, Time is on Our Side. And in 3 Years, it might be Hard to Stuff the THR Genie back into the bottle.

That is my hope zoiD, the information age does have some benefits.

Excellent point, I hadn't thought of that but you are right, Enaud. The urgency is gone, the energy wanes.

In my mind, the most important change that came out is not the extension, but rather the development by the FDA of clear standards of what they will require for an application approval. As the deeming regs were written, the guidelines were so nebulous as to make it virtually impossible to see anything meeting and unknown standard.

Now, when released, those standards will either be reasonable or utterly unreasonable. Given the new environment at the FDA, creating utterly unreasonable standards will undermine the very concept of harm reduction. As the commitment to to harm reduction that appears less likely (note less, not very). The filing extension will give the industry some room to see what will be expected of them and the time required to generate their applications.

Can't say I blame you ENAUD. I am a relative newcomer to advocacy, and I imagine that I *may* feel similarly in the future, but for now I'm reserving judgment... I imagine I will have the hope beaten out of me at some point.

Let's hope, Rossum. Honestly I'm not sure, but I hope so!

There used to be a thing call truth in advertising. Sadly that concept is gone and now sellers and manufacturers are forced by law to post a LIE, right out there for all to see.

Yep, if they thought they were honest when they got there it doesn't take long to find out they are not. I can't imagine a totally honest person signing up for the job.
