Except that it starts out with the same flawed premise:

In the wake of six deaths and 380 cases of confirmed and probable lung disease across the US, the Trump administration has called for banning most flavored e-cigarettes because of their huge appeal to young people.

In effect, they're claiming (or at least trying to associate) these lung injuries with traditional nicotine vapes, when all the evidence to date points at that not being the case at all!

Can't be bothered with facts, their mind is made up.

Still haven't seen any crack down or push to ban flavored vodka... or label glass as alcohol....

Most everyone seems to have backed off from throwing facts at Trump and reminding him that vapers vote, after his last cryptic tweet about vaping. He did not say in it that he was going to stop the flavor ban, so we need to assume he is not and keep hitting him.

Remember, if you want to get to him directly, you can do it on Twitter. He does that himself. We need to really push hard now.

Read it. Sheesh.

This is happening "in the wake of"....
and he is considering a ban "because of"...

The author states other facts too though.

Yeah, but again what it leads with, reinforces the (incorrect) association that the media has tried to create between "our" kind of vaping and those lung problems. It drums up public support for blanket bans on vaping, regardless what's being vaped.

I agree that the lead in could be phrased much better. :)

Guy from American Vaping Assoc. getting ready to come on FOX Business with Cavuto right after the commercial.
Ugh. Cavuto was pretty dang dismissive. :( AVA did point out that if a significant number of vapers stayed home on election day, it may lose Trump re-election. That was a most excellent point.

The flavor ban being discussed is just the final piece for the FDA to have an excuse to ban vaping. "Ban flavors because that's why kids vape. Save the children."

The Tobacco Settlement Act provides that the tobacco industry gives the government a percentage of their profits every year. That's the penalty for deceiving the public all those years and prevented further lawsuits against Big Tobacco. The government bought bond loans to pre-spend that money that they were counting on in the future. Funny thing though, tobacco sales have plummeted over the last decade, so there has been less money coming to the government, and the loans payments are overdue. So how can they get tobacco sales to increase? Answer: Ban e-cigarettes so vapers return back to smoking tobacco. It's always been about money.

That article is such trash. Juul and their 5% pods really aren't all that satisfying or addicting. I have a Juul I use at work, when I was allowed to vape in the office I was hitting it all day long. Not once did I leave the office and think "Oh I need to hit my Juul." Nope, it was right back to the 6mg juice and big clouds and they were far more satisfying than a Juul ever was. Not once in those 3-4 months did I start craving a Juul over 6mg juice.
