Based on what I see, she's just too, IDK grumpy to lighten up. Even when she was going after Justin Trudeau, it was sort of in this angry, threatening way. Like, NO WONDER he looked disgusted.

News just said "White House says it will veto the plan".
So got to give Trump credit on that one.
Won't really matter what the Senate does, as they won't have the votes to override the veto.
I suppose it could be revised and make the loop again, but still, I'm doubting it will survive Trump even in a new revised form. At least I hope that's correct.
I doubt old Mitch will even bring it to the Senate floor, since Trump already said he would veto it.
Seems hardly mentioned here, but the vote yesterday, and recent statement by the White House should really reason to celebrate a little. Not just because the one House bill was defeated, but prior to that, I don't recall seeing much that indicated conservatives were actually far less likely to ban or damage the vaping industry than dems. This seems fairly new. It felt like a couple months ago, killing vaping was a bipartisan effort. And the White House can, without question, influence what the FDA does.
Again, back to the states, though. But if the fear of losing vape-voters is causing that at the federal level, there should be a little more hope with some states as well. At least compared to the height of E-acetate hysteria, anyway. Not counting on it, but...

Republicans have a much harder time getting votes than their counterparts, who usually buy votes by the ton by giving away free stuff using other peoples' money.
So it's not surprising the list of "NAYS" yesterday was 99% "republican". They are merely opposing the opposition in order to gain a few measly votes from the relative minority of freaks who suck vapor into their lungs. They need all they can get.

I almost chose one over my Appalachia husband but he went DEEP (the trust fund kid) into the democratic party and like, I bet I'd be holed up in some "private mental Santorum somewhere while he was banging interns and like I have heard tales of devil worship but IDK, some of that scuff's hard to credit. Etc. Although I do believe the devil inhabits Hillary Clinton and I'm glad I don't remember most of my dreams because I bet I engage her in battle every night. I bet it sucks.

Ridiculous legislation is proposed in Congress and all the states constantly. We don't know about most of it because we aren't interested. Democrats were keeping promises to constituents and lobbing stink bombs at Republicans.
Seems to me the only rational response to the crazieness is learn to mix and rebuild and stock up. It's reassuring to me that my favorite mod and atomizer are still the ones I stocked 4 years ago.
P.S. In light of the corona virus the CDC should be advising smokers to start vaping to rapidly improve lung function and immune systems. If hospital beds get scarce will they admit the vegan Democrats or the deplorable smokers?

As a mint/menthol vaper, I'm glad this bill was an overreach, going after menthol cigarettes. That gave politicians from all sides something to oppose, whether it was penalizing certain groups of people or cutting into cigarette tax revenue. If they'd limited this to just "kid friendly" eliquid flavors it might have gotten broader support.
Unfortunately it's a small victory that will be forgotten when the hammer comes down. For now though, menthol FTW!

Oh I don't know. I sort of take my small victories where I can find them. Every now and then a GIGANTIC one comes along. I mean medical marijuana and now RECREATIONAL in some states who would have thunk it. Not me. But, it is what it is.
Maybe vaping will just BLOSSOM or something. Stranger things have happened.
