Yes. Lots of folks know that I vape at work and they approve. My team actually likes the scent.

I do not obnoxiously blow massive vape clouds. I quietly vape in the cubicle and blow the vapor under my overhead cabinets so as not to let vapor exit the cubicle space. I don't vape walking down the hall or in meetings.

My management has said they are happy that I am doing this because I am saving time by not going outside to smoke and am more productive as a result. Also, they care that I do not become ill from cigarettes. Apparently, I have some value to them alive. =)

May I ask that if you write something about vaping to focus on the positive? There is far too much misinformation, and blatant mendacity surrounding vaping. Please don't contribute to it.

We have found a healthy alternative to smoking. The growing numbers of vapers should show you that it works for us and increasingly more people daily. Subjectively, it is highly unethical and greedy to prevent people from getting well and making healthy choices. Please help us stop the nonsense.

I vape at work. My supervisor is thrilled that I am not disappearing 5 times a day for 15-20 at a time min. I have become more productive and my backlog of work has diminished completely. I work in a cube setting in the middle of a "hallway" and I do try to keep my fan on so there is no vapor really to speak of and I try to avoid doing it when anyone is around trying to stay under the radar.

I work in a machine shop where smoking is allowed. With all the smoke and contaminants already floating around, no one bats an eye at the vapor clouds I produce. My employer provides health insurance so they are very much in favor of vaping. With a little bit of education, they learned that PV's are commonly used to combat addiction to tobacco. Our health policy specifies nicotine usage and I am currently working to wean myself completely from it (also possible through vaping). I hope you have a pleasant day and welcome to the ECF.

Rather than just focusing on vaping at work you could also include positives like in this thread. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/508227-when-did-you-quit.html. There is also research about passive vaping you can include.
Does e-cigarette consumption cause passive vaping? - Schripp - 2012 - Indoor Air - Wiley Online Library and http://clearstream.flavourart.it/site/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/CSA_ItaEng.pdf. I am sure that members of this forum can provide more. The one that is always cited by the media is one sided at best. There are independent researchers that show completely opposite findings from the FDA study.

I vape at work, I'm a software engineer.

I'm in Texas. Vaping is saving my life. Pack a day smoke for 14 years and I was able to just pickup an ecig and stop putting cancerous filthy crap into my body. I tried to quit multiple times unsuccessfully.

PLEASE write a story that explains to people what a game changer this is. It's not the patch, It's not a big pharma pill with 30 side effects, it's not a cigarette. It's a lifejacket.

It's only been 4 days and I cant begin to tell you how much better I feel, physically, mentally. I've been writing code all weekend long flowing like a river.

thank you, I look forward to reading your piece.

Hi Lauren, and welcome.

As a few others have expressed, I really hope you will be honest in the story that you tell. The way that the press has covered vaping, for the most part, has been appalling--and dishonest.

With that said, I'm a university professor. I vape openly in my personal office and no one cares. That said, I had a heart attack early in the fall (at the age of 44) and my only risk factor for was smoking. My colleagues and students, I believe, are so pleased that I quit smoking the very first day that I started vaping that they wouldn't dare tell me that I shouldn't be doing it inside. (I do draw the line at vaping in the classroom--although some of the older ECF members will remember when professors/teachers smoked in class.)

To be honest, one of the reasons that I do vape openly--and in my office--is to be a role model for others. I've had several conversations with people about it, and I know that in every case the person left the conversation with a more positive view of vaping than when we started talking.

I work in a large law firm IT department and am at work from 3PM to 11PM. My desk is one of 5 cubicles. i do vape at my desk when others are present, but i limit it because there are others here. after everyone is gone for the day, i am free to vape as often as i want. Also am all over the rest of the building doing my job after normal business hours and i do vape then as well. Our office does not have a policy about vaping as of yet. If they were to ban it from the building i would go back to going outside when i vape even though i have to stop working and go outside. Much easier to just vape when i need to. Get more work done that way.

Work was a bad habit, gave it up years ago. Now I just add to the federal deafest and vape anytime I want.

being old does have it's advantages

Youre absolutely right , TJ. I found it much easier to give up than any other bad habits. The only drawback is that the video game monsters tend to get a little annoyed at getting beat up on by an older dude.

I get a 20 minute vape break for every hour or hour 20 that I work. I work in a casino where the guests can smoke and they have a smoking break room for the employees. I often do take a vape in non smoking areas in the back of the house and has never been a problem. Usually if someone comments it's "what's that wonderful aroma I smell" and they ask me to blow some vape in their face so they can get a better whiff.
