Thanks PaporPlas! I'm still waiting for my starter kit and other accessories to arrive. I hope I'm vaping around this Thursday. It's odd. I looked at a LOT of e-liquid suppliers and finally settled on one. I like them, so far, but what's ironic is that they are about 16 miles from my house! I didn't know this when I chose them. I hope it's a signal that vaping is going to be a postive choice.

Keep us posted and good luck!

Thanks, PaporPlas! I actually teared up a bit myself re-reading what I wrote. : ) It's been a bit over 3 weeks now and wonder of all wonders, I still haven't had an analog! I am way beyond thrilled, it's like a miracle. Among other things, I've got two absolutely adorable grand-daughters (ages 2 and 5) and it's such a joy being better able to keep up with their busy little selves as my lungs continue to clear up. Life has gotten fun again now that I'm a non-smoker! :)

This is very motivating. Thank you for sharing your story!

Excellent post and thanks to ECF, my "don't under spend" was greatly accelerated, but at least I know that it was probably on stuff I will get some good mileage off of.

Just started vaping 2/20 with a two month supply of Green Smoke, 50 prefilled cartomizers 24mg -- originally thought it would last me up to 6 months based on my current analog rate and how they rate their cartomizers. Two months is based on how I'm using them up. :p

25 years analog, started with menthol for 13 or so years, switched to reg, peaked at 2 PAD, worked it down to about 7 cigs a day in preparation to quit.

Why a 6 months supply? I bought in bulk because I was able to double stack some % off deals and got it for a deal, and I was determined this was going to work and planned on using it. You know, didn't want to sell myself short by 1/2 committing. Originally had thoughts that I would just use it up till I quit vaping altogether and 6 month supply seemed to be a good starting point. Lol, what experience can only teach you.

Who knew that I was going to really like this stuff -- much better than analog all the way.

While I regret to some degree not finding ECF before I ordered my kit; they did get me off analogs the day they arrived, and I know that they will hold me over the next two months while I get my preferences sorted out. I'm sure I'll have some left over when my upgrade arrives, and then I'll just keep it as a backup.

In all honesty, if I did find ECF prior to ordering my starter kit, I probably would have been too overwhelmed and I'd still be using analogs why trying to sort all this info out. As it is, Google provided the standard review sites to my inquiries and I made a choice after about 10 hrs research over two days.

So here I am now, 6 days into this adventure, and I went from stage 1 to stage 4 in 4 days. Took me that long to wade through enough info here (about 5 hrs a night) to finally get a idea... a tiny clue. :p All the while finding myself constantly on the PT that came with my kit. :vapor:

Already over my monthly budget from analogs, but money well spent. I'm trying my best to resist ordering more stuff, that way I get a chance to try out some of the stuff on its way.

Good news is this was made easy for me by the fact that the tank I want is out of stock atm (BDV), and the backup to my new main pv won't be on sale till next month (Provari V2 Satin Black with blue LED).

Gives me time to shop and taste samples and start to square away my main stock. :)

I guess if there is anything I can add to a prospecting new convert.

Don't worry so much whether what you start with, is the one. Do some research to make a good choice, but commit and start now.

If you follow the advice in this thread, you'll have time to work out all the details that will make your PV experience your own.

Remember, success is not a destination... but rather a journey. Enjoy the ride. :)

I need longer battery life, and carto life. So I'm gonna get the eGo 900mah and a few clearomizers. I've been refilling my 21st century and njoy carto's for a month, but still recharging batteries like they are only meant to last as long as a analog.

When you start off do the right thing for yourself, and spend the money.
OK, a bit confused here.I just started vaping using NJoy's but they are only 2 pieces without ability to refill. Bought 2 kits & a box of extra 2n1 cartridges (5 for $18.27). Where did you get refillable carts for them?I hope you notice this question soon, cuz on the first I need to either find some refillables or get 36 prefilled ones for $92.50. Guess I have alot to learn. Thanks!

Yeah, tho I was disappointed enough to return my Blu starter kit, I will forever be thankful to them for the disposable I tried for my very first time...THAT was enough of a start for me to believe being analog-free was possible...
I'm thankful that I know those Blu disposables are available at the corner store too because I live in Florida for the time being and ya never know when a hurricane might take away the electricity!!!

Triquertra, It depends on which Njoy you have. I don't know them that well, but even if it looks like you can't refill them, that doesn't mean you can't. Maybe try doing a YouTube search on how to refill them. If that doesn't help, find out what your thread type is: 510 or 808? You can order blank or pre-filled (refillable) cartomizers from many places like: KGO kits and parts 5 cartos for around $10

Good luck!

I am one of the many that tried the "test and see" way first and bought a cheap e-cig. For what I spent I should have tried a disposable instead. I could see from the beginning that this was an alternative that had possibilities. So I did do a bit of research and opted to buy an eGo-c. I realize there are a ton of options but this seemed like the best real e-cig to start with, I spent about $330 in the first week but that gave me my starter kit, an additional pass-through bat, extra tanks and tank gaskets, extra attys, an extra charger, several pre-made juices along with 500ml of unflavored nic liquid 12 flavor concentrates and DIY supplies. Given that I was spending $300 a month on analogs and these supplies will last me several months I would say it was a very wise investment. It feels like a big investment at first but the payoff is definitely worth it. I’ve been off the analogs now for several weeks and already I am breathing better and smell better. Still get strange looks and comments from some but for the most part people are supportive. My advice is spend some money but expect to spend more later. I can already see I want to upgrade to a mod but I am very happy at the moment with my eGo.

I'm sitting here vaping for the very first time. I'm using Tobacco flavored e-liquid and it's good. I am surprised at how much "ligter" vaing is than smoking. I like it. My new Riva 510 seems to be doing well and wonder of wonders I didn't overfill my first cart!

A little more follow up. I'm still using my first conditioned battery and my first atty and cart. I'm still vaping the tobacco flavored e-liquid. I smoked 1.5 analogs today. When I got off work (about an hour ago) I waited a bit and smoked the analog on the way home. It just didn't seem as good. If I continue like this from now on (smoking <10 analogs/day) and continue vaping I'd be satisfied. I am considering buying a tank or cartomizer tank to avoid topping off. So far so good and I must say I've been forunate (and careful)...no e-liquid issues, leakage, or other problems I have seen from other noobs. I am surprized by My Riva 510 SE: It's more compact than I thought and I use a lot less e-liquid than I thought I would.

Thanks and here's another update. Day 2 : I have smoked 3 analogs today but am seriously sleep deprived. I usually get off work at 5:00 A.M. but today it was 6:15 A.M.! I have had such a stressfull week at work I'm still amazed at how few analogs I've had. I was smoking 2+ packs per day. I'm vaping that same tobacco e-liquid but am going to treat myself to a different cart with some "cappacino" e-liquid in a few minutes. I also ordered 2 510 tank cartridge 4 packs and some Melon e-liquid for $6.71. For the record: I'm still using my first cart and atty; I am getting really good vapor and flavor just using a cart; it seems, for some reason that I can add 6, 8, or more drops of e-liquid in my cart. I take a toothpick and fluff the filler and add a few drops and keep on until I feel that the filler is the consistency of a slushy. Next: I will try an experiment and let you all know how it goes and provide a link or embedded video that made me want to try this experiment. Thank you all so much.

Day 3: My experiment was a flop! I have to return an item and replace it with the proper part...more later. I have smoked 1 analog so far today. Since starting vaping on Tuesday I have smoked 7 analogs. I would have normally smoked that many in about half a day! I'm vaping some vanilla latte e-liquid right now. Very mild and a nice flavor switch. I expected it to be sweet but it is mild and mellow and not sweet at all. I'm still having success with the carts that came with my kit.

In total agreement!
I bought quite a bit to get me started and I'm so happy I did. I live in Canada so I can't even buy the disposables from the gas station to tide me over if I run out (they're pretty crap anyways - compared to the eGo I bought).
I've spent about $300 getting started, which is a month worth of cigs for me (they're $10 a pack here..yikes) and I'll be going for quite some time.
Vaping is a beautiful thing.

I can't say how glad I am to have been off analogs for four months now. 38 years of smokingh most of wich I smoked non filter Lucky Strike. Started out cheap (Blu) and have been buying stuff since. Now a VV box mod and a Provari, 306 DCA, Boge Cartos, quite a few tanks, couple Ego pass throughs, IO6 atties, 510 atties, 306 atties, 801 atties, 510 cannons and the list goes on & on. Started DIY about 6 or 8 weeks ago and my kithchen now looks like a biotech lab. Jusst really glad to have stopped the habit. No ashtrays stinkin' up the house and truck, no ashes all over everything. I haven't saved a penny though!
