this could be a good thing, depending how the people who represent ecigs handle this it could get approved and everyone would be happy, Yes the fda hit hard today but from reading many articles it looks like if the fda wants to work with the ecig people to get these tested and approved, it doesnt seem all doom and gloom but at the same time it could be.

Ok so I did some further testing and my best results came from completly cuttin off the wick at the out side of the cup, leaving a tiny amount to hang over the cup as to keep the coiled wick in place, I repeat this on the other side and make it all nice and neat by tucking the left over tiny wick back down .

then i folded the ptb twice and made it extremly thin and long, then i folded it down 2 to 3 times to fatten it up leaving a long thinner tail. so its fatter on top so it stays in place behind the slits and only 1 folded layer straight down, i then tucked the tail in first and pushed it down into the tank then pushed in the fatter top part into place and repeated for the other side . I will add pics and video later but doing this makes it work ten time better. its a wicking machine. this leads me to think we need a new wick alltogether.

So how often do you have to tip the carto upside down to keep it from getting dry since there's no wick in the reservoir to feed the system?

Awesome. I still need to hit the grocery store and pick up some tea. It would probably be a good idea to find out what temps are reaching the ptb and what material it's actually made of. As we've seen before, materials can out-gas some nasty stuff without showing signs of heat related damage.

all i know nav is that this mod rocks hard. and yes while this works amazingly well, im not keen on modding the e2, adding ptb which should be a form of paper but still we are reverting back to filler in a sence and thats not what the e2 is about.

the slits need to be closed and they should attempt using other wicks.

the problem with the original closed slits was that the slots for the wick where to tight. so close the slits but leave just the right amount of space for the wick to allow juice through.

Nav people have been using PTB to mod cartridges for close to a year with no problems. I used to pull mine out now and then just to rinse it out and I've never seen any signs of the material burning or melting. Can't really speak to higher voltages but it holds up great at 3.7v and below.

Oh I know it's been used for a while now, but I also realize that they will be closer to the heat source in an E2 than they are in the cartridges. The point as we all know is to improve the safety of the carto and eliminate anything from burning, melting or out-gassing anything harmful.

very true, and only because these cartos could be really great are they worth all this effort. naturally, it helps that we have a few guys on here who just LOVE to tinker.
but using a filler material yesterday the quality of the vapor changed and my throat reacted instantly. since bad has not answered my plea for help i guess i have to get some ptb today.

have you checked since using it on the e2s?

More than likely you were burning plain tea bags and getting a harsh reaction from it. Get some *real* PTB and try again. You shouldn't notice anything except the fresh, pure taste of the juice you're using. :)
