Now that I think about it, I'm anxious to know. What is your favorite vaping device?

I have a BB, SB and an Omega (BB - 14500/CR2s, SB and Omega 18650/CR123As).

Right up until recently I have been doing 6v exclusively. Mainly 901s and mostly KR808D1 cartomizers. Direct dripping with the atomizers and using cartomizers most of the time. 901s and the KR808D1s because they were running right at 3.0ohms or a bit more. Less than 3.0 ohms and it trips the circuit on the protected CR2s in the BB. The Cr123As aren't so sensitive and Joye 510's at 2.2 ohms work fine, but don't last more than a day or two. I'd say dripping on a 901 at 6v is about ideal but can't justify the overhead and inconvenience. I do 100%VG and very heavy flavors at 26-36 mg. DK-TAB is my everyday. I've tried all the LR stuff at 3.7 and it didn't cut it. Then... for about a month now I've been doing the Joye 510 cartomizers and Joye 510 Mega cartomizers at 3.7v. Amazing. Actually something that works for me at 3.7v. The regulars are ideal but don't last very long (and I'm not thrilled with the shape and you can't fit a regular drip tip on them). The megas/eGos last longer but are a bit too airy of a draw and tend to leak a bit right after you first fill them. Fine after that. I carry the PV in a battery belt holster when golfing and end up grabbing the pv by the tip. Some of the big ones have a tendency to come apart at the connector (they sort off snap back together though -- haha, they should have used glue). I tend to vape everything dry and always burned up the insides of the KR808D1s. The Joye 510 carto filler seems to be burn proof so far. That's where we're at. Oh, by the way, I can do as much vapor with a 1/2 second draw as Bad did with his 1 second draw... :)

All of mine are proper ohm'd 3.0 and above and a few at 2.9
my Bastomizers 510 e2xl are not like others have posted, mine have no glue at the base so they are usable and work well but they dont have the full sleeve and are proper ohm'd at 3.0,2.9

Thanks :) I'm not terribly worried about the goop, I'll just get some real R4's in a few weeks if necessary. As for the ohms - I'll just have to PTB them and compare with the ones I have now and post my findings.

oh your just jealous of my vapor, you saw my vapor and now all of a sudden your vapor in half second is bigger then my 1 sec.
your gonna make me cancel BR's vape battle and have you meet me in the backyard for a vape-off quick1:p

but in all honesty br is right, they produce more then enough vapor, it does its job in that sence and i feel the nicotine and thats all i can ask for, at this stage the ones im using have been hassle free except a fluffing on one and im happy, it outperforms dripping since i fill it and i vape until it needs to be refilled which is at minimum 100 ( ive done more 100 is just an example)drags compared to 5 drags when dripping 3 drops, ill take the 100 hassle free drags over dripping every 5 drags any day and the flavor and performance is the same to me.

I've got fifteen of the v3.5 510XL cartos and have an two eGo (650mah) batteries, a 1300mah 510/eGo battery and regular 510 batteries.

I can't get a decent vape from these things. I get 2 drags then burnt taste.

I've been following this thread since the 'dark ages' and I think I've tried most things.

I've tried our ptb here Australia but it's different to yours. Just regular tea bag material.
Blue foam pieces sold here are too tiny, as are the black foam mod. They won't reach much more than 1/3 the way to the bottom of the carto.

I've used the original cup plug right side up and upside down. With a larger hole and as standard.
I've used the middle tapered plug, right side up and upside down. With a larger hole and as standard.
I've used it with only the mouth plug.
I've used it with no plugs at all, and tail-piped it. Burnt my lips on the third drag.
I've used regular untouched wicks. I've cut wicks off at the cup. I've cut the wicks loops. I've tried all the above with variations with these wicks.
I've tried all variations with all my batteries.
I've tried 11 different juices, PG and PG/VG mix of various ratios. They come from China and the U.S. Also tried local juice with no nicotine. I've also mixed my own.
The first two drags after the ecig has been standing are normally sensational. Then a slight burnt taste. Then a stronger burnt taste. Leave it for 1 minute, still burnt. Leave it for 5 minutes, one or two more decent drags.
Repeat.

What else can I use to make it wick better, considering I don't have access to regular ptb.

I really would like some help, as I'm at a loss as to what to try next.

I got desperate and cleaned my old regular carto's.

Thanks badkolo for the denture tabs idea. I did that, then soaked them in baby bottle sterilizing solution (milton), flushed with water, reversed Taryn spin, then bicycle pump dried.
Put all but one into a container with rice. Filled up that one. It taste pretty flat after the e2's, but at least I can take 10 or 12 quick drags if I want.

My mum (83) has been visiting and watched me do all this today. Plus the filling with the hypodermic needle. She wasn't too impressed I think ;) Said it seemed like a lot of trouble to go through and I explained that it shouldn't be this difficult, just having teething problems. She said the amount of time I'd wasted playing around with these today I probably should take them to the Dentist. Nice one Mum.

:(

Hi there. I am an Aussie too. I have R3 and had some of these probs as well.
I have great success using the Madames tea bags from Wooliies. These are a mesh like the PTB but they are not nylon as in the USA ptb's.
They are made from Soilon which is derived from corn starch as are the Aussie Lipton ptb (different weave to Madames).

They work great but I cannot compare them to the USA version of course.
I cannot go back to anything else as these taste so good.
Hope this helps,
RC

Have you checked one to see if maybe it's glue burning? any way to get pictures maybe?
I also mentioned a possible confusion about sying the words 'burnt taste' a long time ago.
(Lots of words have been used, chemical, plastic, burnt, glue, sealant, hairspray, burnt, dirt sock, dry, and each one could be a different problem)

Someone even thought they put 1ml in it, and it was only 0.1 ml

Have you dry burned a brand new one or an old one?
And what brand of juice would you be trying next? I hope you're not adding any water either, you mentioned some diy mixes too.
Is there gunk on the coil?

It sounds like your nicotine requirement is a lot more than mine, so I don't have to work at it near as hard as you do. I started out with 510 cartos back in March and they worked well enough for me to mostly stay with cartos of some type every since then. Of course, I tried a lot of other stuff during this time to see what the rest of the vaping world was about. I'm stuck with the low power stuff because anything else that I have tried ruins the taste of my favorite juice.

I was about to try the eGo's when I heard about the E2's that were not yet available in the USA. I put the order off and got side tracked on these things. All I've done since is occasionally think about the eGo's.

At the present time, I've been trying to find more out about the 801 cartomizers. I like the cool vape of 801 atty and thought their cartomizer may be the same way. Do you know anything about them?

bad if you still have contact with Martinez would you let him know they need to start making standard 510's in the 3-3.2ohm range? The XL's are great and all, but I still like the shorter ones. They don't vape as long, but they clean up quicker and don't stick out of a box mod like an extra long antenna. I was wearing mine on my belt tonight and just about yanked out my atty connector when I brushed up against something.

Go here: Electronic Cigarette - Pass-throughs - Joye eGo
eeGo USB passthrough/battery all in one, just add a cone. Came to a total of $27 for me with coupon code. The passthrough unhooks from the USB cable and you can use it as a regular battery too. All 510 compatible :)

That one looks really good GhettoCowgirl
With a female to female adaptor like this, you can even use a usb box mod sold in stores for it.

I got shipping info within the hour of ordering it and heard nothing but good about it. Been feeling guilty selling my ego kit a while ago, but only had the need for one battery. Don't have to buy a charger for this, just plug n go, fits my needs perfect and I think for those who want to try an eGo without putting a lot of money down. $27 included shipping and adding a cone for it (pink of course)!!

Yeah that's why I ordered it! It has the connector, and it's for a cord I have a few of, from my camera, a couple of phones etc, it also includes the cord then it has the cap you can screw on and it looks like a regular battery or plug in the cord with USB on the other end and have a pass through. Pretty nifty IMO and that pink is to die for!

Umm John I might not be an expert in A&P but I believe that is a male to male adaptor ... and the images url conferms that :D

as far as basterized. R3.7563 and R4 I believe they are all the same Final revisions, its the failed QC and pawning off rejects to consurmers ... oh wait maybe that is what R means? anyway if you have that heat shrink type stuff in it that should be the "REAL" r4's no matter what other gunk or flub you find in there. this is almost comparitable on how oftne eliquid/RS changes their site.

I really hope everyone that made purchases gets what they want...

BanJo I am curisous to know if Linda mentioned the US contact when it comes to DOA cartos because I know a guy that might need that. thanks

I wasn't trying to find out about the eGo battery, but I have thought about buying one like this. If I did, then I would make a desktop charging station for it. This station would have a fitting in it so that the battery could stand up in it. Then anytime I wanted a vape, I'd just pick it up and use it. When finished, just put it back in to keep it charged and ready to go for the next vape.

oops sorry, you're right LGD, the connector itself appears to be male-male, I was thinking since the ego and the box mod are females, that it's a female to female connector:laugh:

by the way, it looks like Liberty-flights doesn't sell ping ego cartos, but health cabinet does

maybe it won't matter with the cone and the e2 anyway

LGD could be right about the e2-r4 also, and that's another reason I want my carto mod, so I can maintain them and what not. Nicotime also has some good coil ideas I hope
