I haven't had one die on me yet, either. I have cartos that had no glue . . . . or at least none that I could see or taste. A friend just sent me a couple that she said smelled. I am airing them out to see if anything changes. I'm won't use these if I smell or taste anything.

I soaked mine in vineger for 30 minutes and then rinsed them in hot water. I couldn't smell the glue smell afterwards.

If you pull out the seal under the mouth piece it makes rinsing and drying much easier.

Did you notice that the condoms smelled of glue more than the cartos themselves?

(I just posted this in the 'won't sell to the U.S. thread accidentally, sorry)
...but here it's better, so...
Does anyone know if the ceramic carto has the same old cap? The instructions they provide online still appear to be the same and they use the same pictures as of the last time I checked.

I'm wondering because I think there are better filling and re-filling methods that many people will find more acceptable. These tips I'm thinking of buying are also Luer Lock, which will work on Luer Lock bottles:

Both of them are 20 gauge, and they have many other gauges availble. SmallParts is the name of the company, and you can buy them through Amazon. (smallparts com and amazon com for reference)

Also, where is the best place to buy 20 to 40ml Luer bottles? Does somebody know?

Ok, thanks.

Right. Half ounce Luer bottles would be great. To carry around, the tip is replaced by a lock plug, like in this pic; it can also be used with a lock-ring.

This one has a tether loop, I guess you can put a lanyard or something on it?

So we just need the bottles now, and they do sell just the Luer bottle caps, but I don't remember where and I don't know much about bottle-thread names and types.

Anyone know about half-ounce Luer bottles? Or 15 to 20ml?

Squeeze Bottles from Howard Electronics   Low density squeeze bottles
they have the caps for 48 cents

I thought that the syringe fill was ok if the carto was empty, but difficult to know how much to add to top off a carto.

An empty carto weighs about 5.3 grams so I would guess-ta-mate how much juice was in a carto if it wasn't empty by it's weight. But that was a PITA.

Maybe I'm the only one who fills this way but now I just pull off the second seal, the one with the two holes in it, and drip down the inside of the carto.

The seal was glued onto the cup on the cartos I got. But once you break the seal free of the cup it is easy to take off and replace.

These are not Luer bottles though. Howard, in the other post, does have the 1oz and the cap, but I have no clue who sells the 1/2 oz (or 15-20ml) bottle that will work with Howard's cap.

No, zoiDman, removing the cap is not good, you can simply fill it on one hole slowly (it has to be slowly anyway, so it won't squirt you), and when you see it seep out the other hole stop. Then you can take a paper towel and dry the inside if you want, and replace the mouthpiece.

That's exactly how I do mine now. I fill a handful at a time and just carry a few in my pocket when I head out in the morning.

So what's the down side of removing the cap and filling with a regular dropper bottle?

I didn't notice which smelled more. I took them all apart though. One inner cap I couldn't get off. I will try again when I get my strength back. lol.

I don't know how you guys get the needle in that hole! I vape with some vg and I need an 18 gauge needle and there is no way that it fits in those tiny little holes. I still use the needle at home but I drip it down the side. Quite frankly, I think those holes are useless.

screw the needle into the hole slowly, it works with my 18 gauge

I use a #20gauge also, no problems. I've tried Vg from 3 places, including theirs, and their Peg also.

This one is the one I think I'tt try next, and then the cone. I already know the 20 gauge works well, and anything the 20gauge pipeline can handle wicks perfectly.

zoiDman, there may not be a downside for you, but it's not something for the general smoking population to do. The cap would neat to reseat properly.
