im noticing that its better to do a dry burn on a fresh carto even with the inner plug in place for a while until it smells clean from primer then fill it up, thats been working best for me.

im gonna get some close ups of the coil in action, its extremly loos on mine, barely touching the wick as it wraps around.

Actually, it was 2.6Ω on the 510 XL. It was 2.4-2.5Ω on the LR/LV version of the 808D-1.

The highest that I have measured so far on a 510 XL is 2.8Ω.

(Fluke 79, calibrated with 0.0Ω offset)
Thanks Scott. I'm thinking that you and badkolo have some out of the same batch, since you both received them at the same time.

Hey Bad, how long are you doing your dry burn for and I notice in your vids you where using a V3. Are you still doing your dry burns with the V3 at 6 volts. That is what I got too. I can't get that bad taste out of it!!! Thanks for any help....

I was thinking that was all it would take to get primer out. While you're at it, look at the center post of the threaded fitting. Is there less of a countersink in the hole than the older ones?

br they do look a little diff, ill take pics later.

to CW, im using the v3 with a 17670 at 3.7, on a fresh XL e2, i dry burned it until it smelled cleaned, 5 to 10 seconds dry burns.

6volts might be to much for the lower ohm e2.

This may not apply to you, but if you are vaping a 510 E2 at 6 volts, you may get a burned taste regardless of what you do.

My bag, I did mean the 3.7v batt I use mine at 6 volt 90% of time. That carto just went to carto heaven anyway.:( I got another out and it is much better. Thanks:p
Most of my juice tastes best at 3 volts, which is about what a 510 battery vapes at. A few of us are getting good results with about 3 second draws at this voltage. Almost like smoking a cigarette, except better. But then, I'm finding that I like my Salem Menthol better at 3.7 volts, so YMMV.

Got mine today!!!! First impression is that these are amazing!! I got the standard 510 ceramic and the XL 510 ceramic. Have used these for about 12 hours now, rotating the two. Have not had to refill either one yet, but may be getting close now? The standard is on an eGo and the XL is on an Icon. Yes, these both fit on the Icon! So far, both are fitting on everything I have tried them on!

Both did not have any primer on them, so I have not had to deal with getting rid of that. The only negative comment I have so far, is that the first XL I broke out, did not work. Figured out finally that the threaded end had a dent in it??? Broke out another one and it is vaping like a dream!

The standard 510 on the eGo is vaping warmer than the XL on the Icon. Both are nice though. Tons of vapor, taste is more than I have ever gotten, much stronger than even dripping. I am sure if I hit on these the way you do a normal atty or carto, my head would blow off! First puff almost made me choke. These seem to work a lot better taking smaller hits and you still get a ton of vapor! I am using a standard DK Winston liquid.

So far, I am totally thrilled with these. Already decided that my son is not going to touch these!! Someone has to use all those other attys on hand!

Im noticing better taste all around without the inner caps, but then sometimes i get leaking when i remove them but the taste is much better.

it seems when i remove the inner plug then use a drip tip it taste better and the primer goes away then i put the inner cap back and it stood that way, so if oyu get a primer taste then remove the inncer plug and vpae a few drags then replace it.

Thanks for the report and welcome to the "In Crowd". Several of us have put our old stuff away and it sounds as though you may be doing the same thing.

I had one 510 one that I couldn't get rid of the bad taste either and it leaked as soon as I filled it, it was shipped dry without primer. Let it sit full with a plug in overnight and it was usable the next evening. It died in it's 2nd dry burn cycle but was able to get a few days use out it. Other 4 are doing great after a week of use :) Of course I've been staying up way too late.....

So all the new 808's have primer? It's interesting you are able to keep the filler cap installed as it's intended and it's not strangling the wick.

I slipped one of the o-rings over the filler tool and pushed it into the cap of 6ml bottle with it's end snipped off. It's working out pretty well for filling, just need to figure out a cap for it.

nice pic, they sell a bottle that fits the plastic syringe but its 30ml so i like yours alot cause its a smaller bottle.

the inner plug doesnt strand the wick but i noticed i get the true taste by removing the inner plug first then placing it back.

Is it primer taste or dry wick taste?
Do you normally drip 2 or 3 drops on the coil when it's brand new, or does it make no difference.
Does the inner plug touch the wick at the slots?

I like mine best when they are naked. Without anything on 'em. However, I keep them decent when other folks are around.

But then, I don't know how what I will do with the latest type, cause I ain't got none yet. WHERE IN THE HELL ARE MY NEW XL'S?

I'm thinking of trying to slice about a 1/4 of the thickness off of the inner plug, so it doesn't touch the wick but still supports the ceramic.

I'd like to dissect my toasted one, suggestions as to what tool would work to assist me with that?

its primer, i dry burn it away until it smells clean, i dont like the primer at all but you can get rid of it, i had only one out of 6 that got the dry taste the rest are doing fine with wicking. you can wash it out as well but like i said the taste goes away faster wihtout the inner plug, once the taste is good you can place the inner plug back and its fine.

BR soon buddy soon.

to cut the e2 use a dremel flat round dremel tip like a saw blade.
im also having better luck with the connectors this time around, i had one that didnt work on all my stuff, a second worked on almost all but one, and the other 4 worked on everything.

im liking it so far other then the few that leak and having to remove the primer, refilling is a snap with their tool but i havent tested vg in it yet but i used octane form nhaler and thats thick and worked.

Some gave me a wierd taste that i had to clean out and the primer has that same nasty taste and smell i have had on atomizers from some vendors, its runnier then pg or vg and feels almost greasy but i never liked it and always had to burn it away before using those atomizers as well..

Also some of the 510 xl's are not 3.0 ohm like the 808 xl and the short 808 which are testing at 3.0 ohm, but i have 400 - 510 xl's and only took samples form 2 packs. so that needs ot be looked at by them.it says 2.8 to 3.0 on thier site and thats not what im getting so far, im seeing 2.6 to 2.8 on the 510 xl so far from the ones i sampled.

I do like the ceramics, that was the way to go in that aspect, i think the primer needs to be removed from production and let the customer dry burn the wick and use their own juice as a primer and remove this nuisance of us having to do it.

Ill leave all the details for the review.

Just with dremel cuttiing discs people gotta wear glasses.
For the bottom of the inner plug, I would think you only need a couple arches, without having to thin down the whole inner cap. Except the arches would be right at the slots, since they're both there, the wick and the slot.

Realized that when I started to cut, so just made some notches. Seems to do the trick but can't vape anymore tonight, have to be at work at 10 ;)
