Ok, thanks BanjoMan.

I think we need pictures or videos of the 1/4 inch piece, and how many times you fold it where, but 'm about to try that on a brand new xl.
If someone can post pics at least, it would greatly help many readers

thanks, everyone, these ptb powers that be... really make the vapor 'better'! I'm not using the word thick, because I've seen thick vapor many times before, this seems to be better quality vapor!!

Warning Notice:

One of the very first 510 XL cartomizers that I unpackaged had a "dented" thread section at the 510 battery connector. The "dent"was bad enough that the deformed ID of the threaded end was in contact with the center pole, creating a short. Had I not noticed that and screwed it onto my eGo/Tornado battery, the battery would have been ruined within a few seconds.

Please inspect your cartomizers before use!

2nd Warning Notice:

I received three 510 XL E2 Cartos from a member who’s name I will not name. Thank you.

I got around to opening one tonight. I have had problems with these E2 cartos before, leaking killed an Auto eGo battery. So before washing it out I gave it a quick visual check. I could see that the connector was deformed and the center pole was almost in contact with the outer threads (Second from the Right).

I opened the remaining two cartomizers and found another carto that had a deformed connector (Second from the Left).

This prompted me to open my remaining cache of 7 510 E2 XL Cartomizers. I found one more deformed carto (Far Left). The one with the label on it came from a friend of mine. He was the one who had the carto threads break off in his battery.

The packages that these cartos came out of were not crushed so the damage did not occur during shipping.

I Strongly Recommend that anyone using E2 Cartomizers Check to Make Sure that the Connector is Not Deformed. If the center pole is in contact with the outer threads, you could Permanently Damage your Battery.

I took a small piece of PTB, folded it to make it two-ply, and teased it down the inside of the E2 to almost completely encircle the ceramic cup. I say almost encircle because I left a tiny space between the two ends of the PTB "straw" so I can fit a needle in for refill purposes.

Holy vapor, Batman! Great vapor, great flavor. You guys are very clever!!

yup you are correct zoid, i had 2 packs all dented, then i had 8 packs with no dents, then open 2 more and found 3 dented, then open up more and more and found none, then continued and found some more, so yeah you need to keep an eye out. I mentioned this to them in a call last week and they are aware of it and said it has been addressed. we will see in 3 days.

Bad posted a pic a few pages back that's pretty darn close. It takes a bit of trial and error but once you find just the right amount it's pretty easy to repeat. Start with a piece about 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" big and just start folding it in half... over and over again. Once you have a thickness you think will work just snip it at about 1/4" or less. The overlap beyond the edge of the slot should be between 1/16" and 1/8".

nav, I think the kitchen tried to take in too many suggestions for the stew pot from too many cooks.

Now I agree that they need to leave the cup alone! If the new cup already went into production, I hope they make both! If they want to, they can also make thick ptb straws, for the slotted ceramics, but this cup and this Lipton material is definitely a winner. They're also welcome to built the ptb straws, or maybe a good U.S. supplier like madvapes that carries an enormous number of supplies can also find some. (?)

______

Another problem was that I thought I was going to get samples, and next thing I know, U.S. re-sellers were all ready selling them to the public.

What about the metal mesh from the old atomizers? Using a bit of that around the edges of the cup at the wick slots would not only stabilize the cup, it would hold back the juice and wick it in as necessary just like the PTB.

I don't know about atty mesh, Nav. Wouldn't the juice just sorta flow through it?

Have to agree with you there v1John. I don't have the PTB, but the wick wrap is incredible! This cup with some sort of damper in the slots (I suggest a knot in the wick) is perfect! Although, as with every other carto and atty out there we will probably have to continue modding.

You only have yours 2-ply?

nav, I tried the wick myself with the first 3hole versions, but I actually went to the store not long ago and got the Lipton Pyramid Tea, I really recommend it, every grocery store should have them. I debated buying it on and off since I started vaping, but I'm glad I finally did, you should really try it. It could even be that the wick material outside of the cup does not get along too well with nicotine. It's definitely worth it.

The damaged threads on mine are so far out of round that they will not start on the battery. Therefore, there was no way to damage a battery or its threads.

Now that they are aware of the problem, they are not addressing the damaged threads that we have. They are only addressing the threads they expect us to buy in the future.
