I'm still on my 1st one and I just refilled it about the 18th time with no leaking or bad taste. I think one problem people are having with the build up is running them at a low power setting. I run mine right arond 4 volts without any problems.

I think it's more juice dependent. When I was using a clearer juice I could go for what seemed like forever. The stuff I'm using now is dark and gunks up pretty fast.

Damn.

I should have had Banjo sign a “Babe Release” when I mentioned the idea to him.

Yup Yup havta give props to zoiDman for mentioning the same thing he was doing with Blue Foam. I didn't have any Foam and had to try it with PTB.

I'm 50 and happily married, so I release all the babes to you! :nun:

Br, if you extend the tube another 3/4" and tap some threads on it, then

cut the carto about 5mm below the bottom of the cup, and tap some threads on it, you would
have the one I was thinking of earlier.

_____________

Here is another thought:

Once the wick leaves the cup, what if you really don't need a wick? I mean at least not a stringy wick, what you could have is a hollow, tube-like wick that would essentially line the carto wall.

The current coil wick (now just a 1" wick) would get the liquid off of this tubed wick, and the tubed wick could be built into a plastic cartridge frame that could be easily replaced.

Since the carto top now ends just below the cup, even the cup could be replaced if they also sold the repair parts such as in quantities of 25 or 50.

Even the coil wick could be easily replaced, since it's only a 1" wick if the tubed wick frame cartridge replaces the wick loops inside the carto.

I'm not saying this could be the next version, because we still want some current version in the meantime, but what if this works and allows people to simply replace the gunked parts eventually?

Even then, they could easily carry both versions:
Version A =some kind of the current version, that people can throw away at the end of the day, and
Version B =the one where the hood comes off, and can be made to last for months.

You got caught in the recent big layoff at Willy Wonka's chocolate factory didn't you.

Now that’s what I’m taking about. ECF Babes by the droves.

Better stock up on Incense, Wine and Candles. I wonder if the Mod’s could increase my PM inbox to 500 just incase?

Anyway…

What ever you stuff around the slots seems to work. Poly, Blue Foam or PTB. It also doesn’t need to go all the way around the cup since the leaking appears to only come in the slots.

So what is the next step in the design stage of a carto that doesn’t need to be mod-ed?

Holes instead of slots and the same wick geometry.

Slots with a braided wick?

A ring of braided wick to go around the cup?

the foam, filler, or tea bags could still wrap around the cup some more, just leave one little spot where you can refill it, and remember where that spot was located.

what kind of tea bags do people get? is there a picture of the box?

About the question if it works to the very end,
it should.
. Just hold the ecig like a real cigarette, with the ash pointing up a little sometimes, and that brings the last drops to the bag.

So I just ruined a new carto trying to get the wick to cut it and then re-stuff it.
It's a mess working with the wick and cutting it, because it does produce way too many loose fibers.

I guess just leave the wicks alone, but still wrap some foam-fille-or bags around the cup.

The manufacturer can take care of using much less wick.

I dunno wat's going on, Quick1, but I did think about this a long time ago, I think it was still R1 or early R2, I even used a wick from another carto, and it leaked a little during the day outdoors, but I goota try it again, this time with the ring seated better.
___________

thanks I'll get a box, BanjoMan

Ok ive been using this ptb mod all day and it wicks and vape better then anything before it. No leaking from the cup base or slits and it vapes perfectly with every hit and it eats the juice completly and uses it better now.

To make sure this wasnt a fluke, i open 5 random ones , added ptb and wallla, im in vaping heaven. this is a 2.6 ohm at full 3.7 and is working better then anything before it. The vapor is so thick and heavy it chokes me out every time and the taste is out of this world.

THANK GOD I CAME UP WITH THIS IDEA, I really figured banjo or V1john or br would have figured this out but nope it was all me.
(just kidding, thanks banjo and v1john for this great mod

remove the string, then the side the string came off, cut that rim off, then empty out the tea and fold up any portion that will fit in that area, you will need a super thing tool to stuff it, but once its stuffed on both end it keeps the cup sturdy and feeds the coil incredibly.
cutting the wick is a pain but doable, while banjo said we dont need to cut the wick, i did so anyway and it works flawlessly

Gotta add zoiDman to the cudos list, he was first to mention stuffing foam in there.

Pointy tweezers work well for getting the PTB in place.

I'm thinking this might also help everyone with older CE2's that complained about wicking. I'm going to try it tomorrow on those old 401's I got in the first shipment.

OK going to go see if I can find these teabags, as for the small tool thing, I use some eyeglasses screwdriver, they're tiny, I use the flathead ones.

EFIT: I didn't throw them out! Go me :D

EFIT? lol

Small pointy tweezers work best. Once you have a hold on a patch of PTB give it a little pinch to shape it like the curve in the carto wall. It'll go in easier that way.
