It really depends on what revision you end up w/. The issues can range from pinched wicks to glue smell/taste, etc. I liked the r2 plastic cups, except that my slots eventually warped and caused it to leak.

Thanks for the heads up. We'll see. I'm interested in looking at these.

Hi guys,

Just to save me a little time... what are the general (short list) of issues I might run into on the pre ceramic versions??
My wife has been using one of the earlier versions for about 6 weeks and likes it better than the ceramics. However, she uses the mouthpiece in place of the filler ring and fills it directly into the reservoir with either a bottle or a syringe. She has always used it on a 510 battery.

None of our plastic cups warped from heat, so hopefully yours won't either.

6 weeks is great, I think 'jjrose' was up to 35 days and counting too. Mine still works, coil is clean and ready. I need to PTB it and get it running again. I did like those inner caps.

I wonder if they can correct your order, did you let them know?

They correct orders on the NEXT shipment, but I may be dead before I use up that ones I have, lol.

I think the plastic cup only gets out of shape if you disturb the inner cap or fire it up too long.
None of mine warped while dry burning. The upper slot warped closer together on mine because the plastic filler cap squeezed them that way. The lower part of the slots where the wick passed through never did warp. This is not something I think. It is something I know.

This is why I began replacing the filler cap with the mouthpiece. It is a perfect fit on the cup and does not squeeze the slots. Therefore, the slots do not pinch the wick and it does not run dry.

I like the XL's, but I have to admit I use my older plastic cup E2's more on a daily basis (I already have a bunch in use and they just keep going). I've rinsed, dry burned and refilled the older ones I don't know how many times and I haven't had any leaking issues at all. The little plastic filler cap pops out easy for cleaning and drip filling, and the taste is fine as long as I keep the voltage around 3v. I'm going to try PTB on these just to see if it'll let me run them at a higher voltage and still retain the taste I like.

This is really a cartomizer issues thread here, I wonder if people think this is the worst carto ever made by looking at a 2,000 post issues thread.

Anyway,
There is another thread about the CE2 for the 808d, all of which have been great so far, I don't know if y'all knew or if they over there knew about the thread here, but that one is:

It's like some of us have been trying to say. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If what you have suits you, then don't try to make it suit someone else.

But then, there's always the chance that you can mod it beyond your wildest dreams. I'm trying to do that, but I ain't been successful yet. Maybe a rocket scientist would be better at it, but I am just a certified aircraft and powerplant mechanic.

Hey Br looks like we have some things in common , I'm a A&P too , new avatar is one of many planes we have owned over the years , my father had a 32 plane crop duster operation . Still waiting on my order of XL's and more . Picked up some XL's from COV , they worked OK but not great , put in bad's PTB mod and now they work great .

...

The E2 "IS" the worst carto Ever made. But it has the Potential to be the Best.

From the members I have talked to, they are turned off by the fact that there even needs to be a 2,400 post thread on these cartos in the first place. Most of them say the same couple of things to me.

Why can't they get the "Primmer Fluid" out of the cartos?

Why don't they do more testing after they make changes to the E2

Why is the quality so inconsistent?

Why is it so difficult to deal with e_liquid.cn (12 hour time delay. Broken English e-mails about "Lucky Cartomizers". No Return Policy)

Yes, this threads is Huge. And there are other threads out there regarding the E2's. But this thread is exactly what I wanted it to be when I started it.

A place where members can discuss the Techical aspects of these cartos. Let all the people who Gush about how great they are or yell how they Suck to other threads. Let the PIF people or the people who want to praise COV and do chit chat about when they are going to be have there's also.

This thread is good because it stays on topic and provides the exchange of ideas about the design and improvement of these cartos.

Well, after zoiDman's post, I'm not sure if I should even post my disappointment of the E2s that I just received. Oh well, guess I just did. :)

I love the R1 ones I got from a vendor here in the states, but that primer is absolutely NASTY! I have to burn it off before I can use them, but after I do, they work great, and are easy to refill, and I haven't experienced any of the issues I've read about.

The R3 ones I just got today are all wet, they leaked inside their packaging. The labels are cheap, the edge on all of them is separating and lifting off the carto. And then there is the silicon O ring on the cup. I already wasted a carto trying to get that thing back in place, I pushed too hard after fiddling with it for awhile and popped it out the bottom. At least they don't have a primer flavor to them, so that's nice.

Well I disagree.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But tell me one e-Cig product that has had / has this many design problems as these E2’s?

Remember I said they “Could” be the best. They just aren’t there yet seeing that they leak, need a mod to wick well and still appear to come with something that causes a bad taste in some of them.

Never feel that you can’t post something about the E2 cartos here. Good, Bad or Indifferent. That’s what this thread is All About.

What I was trying to say is that if a thread becomes 2,400 long, But is full of a bunch of off-topic chit chat, than people have to wade thru page after page of small talk to get the Important information.

I don't think that has happened to this thread.

Doesn't sound promising. Crossing fingers for r4 still. Bad, still no leaking issues on your end? No improvements in the wicking area?

Hey zoiDman,
I respect your opinion as well as v1John's, myself I like them despite their issues, even the original 1's I have.
I don't want to compare apples to oranges so all I will say is that at least with these I have found what works best for me and I am no longer fiddling constantly with my stuff to try to get it to work better, get better flavor, etc.
Are they a out of the box solution? not quite yet, but closer so yes they are potentially better.
Are they better than the rest of the stuff I have? Yes, with a small amount of effort they are better than the atomizers I used and the other cartomizers I have tried, in fact I have used these exclusively since I first got them.

just my :2c: for what it is worth

All the best,
wing.

All I can say is after I tasted what my juice *should* taste like, it's REALLY hard to think about going back. If I can mod these things to work I have to believe anyone can.

Should you have to? Absolutely not. But then again when I first started vaping I never thought I'd be out shopping for tea bags to stuff in my carts.

I'm disappointed in the quality control (threads, primer, leaking), but at least they're working on fixing them. In the meantime I'm using what I have and I'm happy (and I'll put the flavor and vapor I'm getting with these up against anything else out there today).

Now, back to my nic coma. :)
