ok, yes, right now I'm using the ry4 but I got an ink blot juice 8-o
haha it's ok, if it's fried apple I'm sure it'll be interesting, thanks I'll be trying that one sometime in a little while

I just ordered some r4s because I'm getting annoyed messing with the ego XL carts. I can make them work but I have to play with them way too damned much.

Was reading through this thread and saw that people were getting "fake" r4s and was about to cancel my order until I noticed cloudsofvapor are selling the real deal r4 xls. Hooray. I'm hoping this will finally be the solution to my chain vaping so I can stop keeping a pack of smokes in the car for when the stupid cart/atty decides to stop wicking for me while stuck in stop and go traffic for an hour twice a day.

Wish me luck!

Edit: Also, anyone know the laws re: syringe/needle possession in texas? I've been searching but I'm a bit confused. I'm just going to go to the pharmacy and see what happens when I ask ...

I just went to a CVS pharmacy and ask for them. They didn't even ask what I wanted them for. They where a quarter a piece.

In virginia I just need ID at the pharmacy, and they ask the purpose and I told them my electronic cigarette.
Sorry, but I dunno about the Texas pharmacy, but get a 3ml 20 gauge.

_________

nicotime, it looks like my carto is almost like yours, and Lowe's sells polyetheline tubing that fits the carto well, but I need to know how to seal it:

I'm wondering if I should use silicone or quick epoxy, I have both.
The only thing is I would like to be able to remove the top for maintenance, the polyethelyine tube, so I don't want
it welded permanently to the bottom carto piece, any ideas?

I would go with the silicone v1..be sure to clean everything with acetone or at least alcohol and dry it well...helps to have the parts warm because moisture will get into the microscopic nooks and crannies even when wiped dry.

I have known my pharmacist for years...when I ask him if they sold syringes and started to show him a carto to explain...he already had two handfuls of them asking me if that was enough...no charge of course.

Did you guys ever figure out what the green stuff was?

dunno what the green stuff is, but it's definitely worrisome

---

ok, will try silicone, tho the other stuff says 'drinking water safe' and can set up under water, it's commonly used in mods I think. It's the one that you have to work up and mix and the color is supposed to change, but I'll try the silicone.

The other tube (the larger one) from yesterday's pictures is larger and can hold more, but it's vinyl and it still requires a part of this other tubing underneath it, so I will just try this polyetheline one by itself and if it works, I might experiment with the next bigger tubing. At least I'll have cartos that can be opened as needed (and re-closed) for maintenance.

Well folks, it's October 8, early morning in China!!
China is back in business I hope, they sure take national holidays seriously, what if the U.S. had a national week off for the 4th of July?

if it was up to the powers that be, we wouldnt have any days off, so be happy some countries still take these holidays seriously.

i was able to get the r4 to give me a dry spot after a while of use, but after inspection i see the cause, i placed the center plug backwards which also has a bigger hole that i mead and after using it for a while the juice seeps on top of the center plug causing a dry taste every 10 drags or so but a quick shake or good drag fixes it.

so far the REAL R4 is holding up very well, no leaking, i have no real complaints. While its wicking better then all other revisions I know deep down inside the ptb mod would also turn these into a beast but for now as is, they are pretty dam good.

I could be wrong, but I believe you may be experiencing something that I discovered sometime back. The juice seepage you speak of may be condensation. Anytime there is something in this part of the chamber that can hold the accumulation, you will probably notice it. This is especially true if a whistle tip or whatever is used to increase the volume of the chamber.

Normally, the condensation drips back down in the cup and is vaporized again on the next vape. Sometimes, the condensation is excessive and some of it gets in the intake tube. When this happens, it may seep out at the battery connection and cause you to believe it is a minor leak. This is most noticeable when a small battery with a slick finish it used. When this happens with me, everything gets a slimy feel and I have to wipe it down to get rid of it. Maybe this is more likely to happen with me because I constantly take 1 second draws without putting this thing down. I don't know.

The later ceramic cup reduces this to some degree. It has a ridge sticking up in the bottom that is around the air intake hole. This leaves a groove around it that can catch most of the condensation until it is reused.

So, how do I know this is condensation? Well, it has a sweet taste just like VG, and no taste of nicotine. Evidently you get all of the nicotine even though you may not get all the vapor of each drag. So I would say that if your seepage has a strong nicotine taste, then pretend that you never read this post.

About the mods, etc. Sit back and enjoy that thing boy, and wipe all that other stuff out of your mind.

BTW. The wife likes the sample juice you sent better than I do, so I may not get a chance to actually try much of it.

Sorry, but I dunno about the Texas pharmacy, but get a 3ml 20 gauge.

Found somewhere with some 10ml 20 gauges, but got some 18 gauge needles as well since I use vg primarily. Needed the bigger syringe for easier measuring of flavor while mixing anyways.

It's a ..... to get vg in the 10 gauge huge thing I use now for mixing, so I figure the bigger the better.

Eventually I'll find and order some blunt 10-13 gauges on the internets, just wanted to make sure I had something to fill this up with when it got here. Nothing worse than having a new toy and not being able to use it.

it's true about condensation, the flat 901 tips are a good example

actual leakage shouldn't happen if the cup's silicone lid is not moved at all
That's what I'm doing right now, I'm trying the fried apple, but I didn't move the cup lid at all.
So far so good, no leaks, and good flavor. Unitil now, I was mostly using just e.ither Winston or ry4, and the fried apple does
taste good

Is the fried apple VG? The vapor does seem like it's VG-heavy, but the good flavor is also good and strong

i should of mentioned vjohn that the fried apple bottle is a pay as you vape juice, there should be a little notch for quarters on the side, you drop a quarter in their every time you fill a e2, when the bottle is done and full of quarters you ship it back to me.

lol glad your enjoying it

yeah im not getting leaking, the condensation or whatever it is isnt a issue when im at home and dont use any inner plugs, but even that is fixable by us im sure.
at the moment all 4 r4's are performing very well, all are unmodded and 2 have the inner plug and 2 dont and all at 3.0 and 3.1 ohms.

on one i needed just to fluff up the wick in the slits by simply pulling on it with tweezers which alleviated any issue going forward.

(( I would suggest to fluff the wick in the slits on every e2, it seems the wick can be in the slits in a way from manufacturing that presses it down to much or pinches the wick, by pulling it up a little it loosens it and performs better.))

I let the supplier of mine know they weren't R4s they had, they were mad, not at me but at China. They're trying to get it sorted out tonight I think, thanks for all the help Badkolo, hopfeully very soon I get to try a REAL R4. Was worth sacrificing 2 cartos, I can PTB mod the others and use them without worry.

So the bastomizers or frankencartos or what have you are freaky looking with the hot glue and half-way done black sleeve and all....but how do they vape?

I ask, because I impulsively ordered some 510 XL's from vaping.com last night. There was a photo and an email from RS (I think) on the site confirming that they're R4 which has been taken down. The photo was of a R3.75, but heck - I wanted some XL's and figured I could PTB 'em.

My hope is that these are at least a higher ohm (suitable for eGo) than the 510 reg's I got from COV, so they'll taste better once they're modded.

to be honest i dont know whats going on or who has what, but it seems many have the .......s with glue or the semi sleeve, those are not R4's.

the R4 has no glue, no silicone where the wires meet the cup and the new sleeve goes around the actual cup as well up to the slits opening. I dont know if htye ordered higher ohms or not, so you need to as what ohm they ordered them in.

All of mine are proper ohm'd 3.0 and above and a few at 2.9
my Bastomizers 510 e2xl are not like others have posted, mine have no glue at the base so they are usable and work well but they dont have the full sleeve and are proper ohm'd at 3.0,2.9
