Ok so straight out of the box, the Lemo 2 is already put together and ready to vape. Coil is already installed (they used a 8 wrap 24 gauge micro coil at .5 ohms) and wick is already set up. Just fill and go. But being me, I decided to take it apart first and check it out.

At first look, it’s a great looking device overall. I like how the top cap is made, and the small drip tip on top of the cap is the perfect size. Nice wide bore, double O-ring, fits nice and snug, and looks great (pic below). The fill port and AFC both move effortlessly and smoothly, but fit snug enough to stay put once adjusted.

Taken apart, I had 0 remnants of any machine oil, as some others have reported. The device was spotless clean. Every piece of this thing has been machined perfectly. Every thread is buttery smooth, and there are zero signs of burrs or spurs anywhere. It’s just as an authentic device should be; manufactured perfectly.

The build deck shows a nice sized air hole, a little over 3mm wide, by my measurements (picture below). YES, IT IS a PEEK insulator you see there. Everything is spaced nicely, and once again, machining is spot on.

I decided to give the stock coil a go, as it looked exactly how I would have built it on my first go (picture above, minus wick as I took these after vaping it and taking it apart again).

Filling! Oh goodness the filling! So easy it’s ridiculous. Turn the fill port to open and fill. That’s it. I was using a fat tip 30 mL bottle, and it filled in less than 10 seconds.

The resistance of the stock coil came out to .5 ohms, so I ran it between 30-40 watts as I do most builds around that resistance.

I was pleasantly surprised by the airflow. Great for lung hits, which I favor. Nice thick hearty plumes, but it was lacking something… Flavor. I tried all different wattages and air flow settings to see if I could squeeze a little more flavor out of it, to no avail.

So far everything was legitimately perfect about this device except for the flavor, so I decided to do a rebuild. My go-to build for flavor is a chimney coil, so I got started on that.

The build room on this deck is outstanding. I was able to match the coil’s inner diameter to the air hole’ diameter, so I wouldn’t be losing any air flow. I did 24 gauge 9/10 wraps on a 1/8 drill bit, which came out to 0.8 ohms. Although building on this deck was much different than my past few tanks (Orchid, Goblin, Goliath) I actually found building on this deck easier than all of them, even with the strange (to me) post design.

After a quick heat and squeeze and wrapping the coil in a cotton blanket, It was ready to go.

Again, I got some good clouds, and flavor was a little improved. After a few good drags, though, the flavor went dull again. I wasn’t getting dry hits, but I wasn’t getting good flavor, either. I thought maybe the wick wasn’t broken in yet, so I vaped on it for a few hours, and let it sit in juice overnight.

This morning, came back to it; same story. I took it apart, made sure the wicks were sitting above the channels so it gets plenty of juice, and it’s still not getting the flavor I am used to. Maybe I have been spoiled by the Orchid/Goblin with flavor. Problem is, EVERYTHING about this device is exactly what I want, except flavor.

One big difference I noticed right off the bat with the stock coil, and with my first build, is that the bubbles weren’t there. Anyone with a Goblin or Goliath knows what I am talking about with the bubbles. They both wick like champions. This one doesn’t seem to drink the juice as fast. For tank longevity , this is a good thing. For flavor, as it turns out, it’s a big fat negative.

While puffing this morning, I decided to open the fill port and take a puff to purposely flood the chamber. “BOOM, there it is!” Flavor was in your face, and exactly what I was wanting. Seems to be the channels can’t keep up with thirsty builds. I am going to mill out the juice channels tonight and give it another go.

Overall, it’s all I look for in a RTA. Huge build deck, easy to build on, easy to fill. Once I get this flavor issue sorted out, I think it may put most of my stuff (I don’t think I will ever permanently shelf the Goblin) into the ‘not being used’ pile.

Being a flavor chaser, though… it’s a big fail if I can’t get that worked out.

Please let me know if this works out for you, as i've been have a similar issue with mine. It's my first RTA and i made the switch over as i was expecting a big change in flavor. But I have found it a little weak in the flavour department as well.

So far, spreading out the stock coils and doing the "pancake wick" has produced much better flavor for me. (video and pic one or two pages back)

It was a little leaky when tilted, so I went back in and made the 'pancake' bigger. Seems to be much better now. Wicking is efficient, much less in the dry hits, and it's not leaking on me. I'm pretty happy with it right now. Top fill on this thing is definately a game changer..

I don't know what to try anymore. Just wondering what does the pancake wick do differently then a regular wick stuffed to the sides. Has anyone tried out a clapton coil on the Lemo 2?

I don't know the science behind it. I just know it dramatically improved the flavor, and actually gave me hope for this RTA.

I find myself honestly just willing this thing to work right, because the top fill is perfection.

If I could put this top cap on my Goblin, it would be game over.

What I've done as far as wicking goes is this:

I use 100% cotton cellucotton with a 3 mm twisted 26 Kanthal coil. Leave the cotton long and feed the cotton tails up through the sleeve and fasten the sleeve in place. Then trim the cotton tails a couple mms above the sleeve and then tuck the tails down around the edges into the top of the cutouts where the channels are so they are below the threads but not by a whole lot...then saturate the wick...poke a skinny tool down to the juice channels without pushing the cotton into the channels and then wiggle it back and forth to create a tunnel that I can easily see the channels. When done the wick almost looks like an X with the coil being the center of the X if this makes sense.

This wicks very well even at .4 ohms and the flavor is quite good too...no leaks even when laying down either. I do lay it so that the air holes are vertical (keeps both juice channels below the water line so to speak). I'd imagine if you had one channel up out of the juice and one "under water" it would probably flood.

I think part of the problem for some folks is that they rely too much on what works for other devices and don't experiment enough to figure out what works for this particular atomizer. With the low ohm coils and high volume airflow it's easy to lose flavor unless you can figure out how to keep that wick completely saturated.

My :2c: anyway..hope this helps.

I wouldn't do the pancake wicking method on the Lemo 2 unless you're using really thick juice...guaranteed to have flooding/leaking issues especially when filling. I have found you need to fluff the edges of the cotton and use a fair amount to prevent flooding, but too much you get dry hits...it's a tightrope!!

Got mine today. Could not notice much machine oil smell. Gave it a good bath with dawn dish soap. Built a ni200 coil at .19 ohms and wicked it with Japanese cotton. 470 degrees at 25 watts on the flask. Getting good clouds and flavor. Liking this tank so far. Good airflow as well. I wasn't sold on the huge drip tip. Added a smaller bore one.

The only vaping product I ever had a bad thing to say about was the IPV Mini. I'm sorry to say I need to do it again. My Lemo 2 is just awful. I hope it's just a production issue but man, I'm having a horrendous experience with it. First off, why would they make a revised version of a tank and have it not be able to facilitate max VG juice? I've put in many different builds and wicking styles and every time I get dry hits after a few drags. Doesn't matter how low the build is, how large or spaced out the coil is, where the wicking is placed, if I go above 33ish watts its just terrible. I used a 50/50 juice in there and it was alright, but I highly prefer max VG. I've had no leaking issues to speak of, just terrible vape quality. I hope everyone else is having a better experience. I wish I could return it. Guess my goblin will be on double duty now.
