found it around pages 23 to 25... scuba's hot elictrical wrap... hehheh. I just got a bunch of FC2000 but am hanging it up because i was using the cheesecloth wrap which gets too gunky....
EHW, HW etc.... you guys are DEDICATED...
I'm so lame i'm going back to mesh and my iGo's for a while....

so i just read mike3 post on a specific setting for pages per posts. never knew that some have different settings on this. anyways scuba dans version is way harder and requires a battery box. the method i use can be done with your mod. maybe by this time you have changed your settings and have seen the video, its super easy to electrically wrap. believe me, after you do this you will be very happy. and by using nothing but wick the performance is much more consistent. maybe i can move the video to this page

Excellent Vapdivrr... Soon as my nextel "sock" gets gunked, I'm good to go for my next wrap pc2000 !

What if you wrapped the top wire the other way? like against the threading / counter clockwise... I've done that before so that wire gets more coverage around the back of the wick....

great job man, didn't see that on youtube when i googled it...

usually I do wrap so the wire is behind the wick on the last wrap, not sure why I didn't do that.

hey buddy just want to give a few more tips of doing the wrap when your ready after the Nextel gets gunked. if your going to try the electric wrap I would use nothing thicker then 29g wire. it can be done using 28g but if your doing it for the first time it can wind up being slightly loose, especially using the newer slotted wicks. the slotted wicks naturally have a channel and if the wrap is not super tight it can cause issues, for these slotted wicks and gauges thicker then 29g I would only use a hot wrap. for the first time doing the electric method I would recommend using 29g or 30g. I remember you saying that you wanted resistances at or below 1-ohm, for this the 29g is perfect.

changed back to the nut configuration on the ac-9. have been going back and fourth between both for a while. I like the spring but I tend to get some slippage unless I add maximum tension which causes some slight leaking to the 510 connection so I went back to the nut set-up. the reason I took off the nut connection for the spring is, as you all know it adds to the possibility of a broken wick if tightened to much. well this time I added the 2 washers on top of the top nut. the top nut is just underneath the screw head. anyways I connect the wire between the screw head and the top washer, underneath the wire is another washer then the nut. I find that this way you can tighten the nut all you want and the wire will not turn. this will stop the possibility of snapping the wick unless you find that you like adding tension to the wick by actually tightening the nut.

I've been itching to give the porous wick a shot, but I've only ever seen it at Discount Vapors, and they're always out of stock >_< I have a strong dislike of eBay, so haven't tried heading there to give it a look. Are there other vendors?

I've had good luck here:

http://www.electronicstix.com/search?q=ceramic+wick

They got slotted and rounds...

although more money, tankecigs also carries them. as far as I know, discount vapors/ tankecigs/ electronicstixs/ and s&s mods are the only vendors who carry them

Are these able to be cut down for use inside a RDA?
Easily...but they also snap easily if you're not careful with them. The FCs are delicate, so handle with care. If you want a precise cut, I score around the wick with diagonal cutters and then snap the wick while holding it in the cutter's jaws.

Was it on here I read the idea of taking the pieces of a broken ceramic wick and being able to use it by wrapping SS mesh around it to extend it. I tried it and it's working quite well. I wrapped cotton in the SS mesh, left a little space at the top to put in the piece of ceramic wick I had and I've been using it several days. Whoever made the suggestion, thanks.

That was Ricks:
How many have you broke? I've only broken 2 so far. With the broken ones, I roll some SS mesh to the bottom and they work great.

One problem I do have with the ceramic wick is that I can't get the amps to it that I desire. If I go much over 2 amps I end up with hot spots and that's even several days of break-in. Anyone getting them up to 3 or more amps. If so, what is your secret?

The hot spots are where your coil isn't really touching the wick. I run mine around 3.5A just fine.

How are you wrapping your coils?
