Is this a good deal? AGA-T and Smoktec Rtank for $40
Sounds just a little high to me, but it's subjective. You used to be able to find both for less than $20 each...but it is difficult to find either now. Whether it is worth it or not depends on how much you want them and why. If you're going to use the AGA-T for ceramics, you will probably need to drill out the wick hole, I don't know about the R tank.

Sounds more reasonable :thumb: I have a used AGA-T, and the previous owner did most of the modding for me. If you carefully sand down the cap (from the thread end), you can line up the air hole with the wick. I drilled out the wick hole to 1/8"...the wick ends up very very close to the wall of the tank.

Changed flavours today so I took a few picks:

Cotton wool tucked down into the side channels

Ok, that is just too cool! The "cotton wool" , is that just like a cotton ball, or is something else? Can you tell me or point me to what you're using? I've been using a Kayfun for my all day device for almost a year now, but I've always stuck with silica. However I just happen to have some ceramic wicks about(wish I'd kept the broken ones now ;) I can't wait to give this a go, I really like the idea of not having to recoil every 4-6 days also!

I'm assuming cotton wool isn't a cotton ball, or you probably would have said that. The top picture is how you have it setup with the cotton I guess, just packed in the sides and just touching the ceramic is enough wicking? Thanks for any more info...

Cotton wool is the same as a cotton ball (Australian English vs American English).

good to know you were able to enlarge the wick hole. i have the same aga, which is a great clone genny, perhaps the best clone out of all the clones ever. now i heard the newer aga's are nothing like the originals, but i never purchased one of the new ones. anyways i still have some 3/32 wicks left but when they run out i will enlarge to 1/8. just bought the new agi genny/ dripper model which i was able to enlarge to 1/8.

Can anyone confirm whether or not it possible to englarge cobra wick holes to 1/8th?

a while back I was thinking of purchasing a cobra and had the very same question. in the end I don't believe I was able to find someone who tried it, so I never bought one. its not the fact that physically you couldn't do it, although I would be a little difficult because of the material, but more to do with encroaching on anything around the enlarged hole.

That was my exact concern. I have a Cobra en route as we speak, so I will report back with what I come up with.

I have heard the Cobra comes standard with either 2mm or 2.5mm wick holes - no one seems to have a definite answer. I received 6 new FC-2000 wicks today and all though I ordered 1/8th, these new channeled wicks seem noticeably smaller then my previous non-channeled FC-2000's. I don't have any old ones around to compare so I may be mistaken there, but they certainly fit into my ZAP easier then the old ones. I wonder if this was a mix up in my order, or a function of the channels -either way they seem to work great so I'm not complaining, but it has me wondering if they wont just fit into the Cobra without modification to either the wicks or the atty. I guess we shall see...

I am pretty sure the cobra is 2mm. there is no doubt that the new slotted 1/8 wicks are closer to 7/64, I have a bunch and the regular round 1/8 wicks are a bit bigger for sure. I wish this wasn't the case though because with the channels it does make them a bit more fragile, and now to boot, they are smaller. I just got one of those agi attys which came with a 2mm wick hole, it didn't actually take to much to enlarge to 1/8. interested to find out how you will manage, keep us informed because I still would like a cobra one day.

Oh I will, having been using these channeled wicks for the last few hours I think it's time to forsake ss mesh all together. If getting them in the Cobra can be done, I assure you it will be. Then I'll be back to spread the word. My cobra shipped from England this morning, so we may have a bit of a wait on our hands.

I haven't vaped mesh since I think the first part of feb, which is the same exact time I started this thread. actually, I think it was late feb, I did try mesh again after vaping the ceramic for a few weeks and that's when I really noticed the difference in flavor.

Been done.... 3/32" FC2000 .8ohm .8mm ribbon Cobra

Unfortunately the 3/32 are not available anymore. :( So its either diamond wheel the 7/64th or drill out that hole (would not advise)

I don't mean to sound rude, but without an explanation "would not advise" is hardly a deterrent. I've come to make a lifestyle out of things people would not advise. That said I will be shrewd in contemplating just how I will go about getting these 1/8th wicks in that atomizer, and grinding the wicks may well prove a better alternative then boring out the hole.

No problem, "would not advise" was not to say "dont go for it". I have thought about it a lot. I just put it in there to clarify on the effort/risks for the choices. (theres a lot of titanium to go through.). Not as painful to have a broken wick, vs a borked $$$ atty...I have not seen a drilled out Cobra, it would be interesting to see it if you do it.

borked????

A technical term...if you are around Geeks, you hear it all the time. Means "screwed up", FUBAR, messed up. Specifically used to describe technology that is broken..
I think it originated with the Muppets Swedish Chef "...Bork Bork Bork..."
