These scare threads come up every year or so.The last one I paid any attn. to was the one in which the FDA lost the court decision in the Fl. courts.Thank the gods I only buy from China now.

Yeah... I'm sure you are Safe buying from China.

I mean, the FDA would Never get the US Customs to Seize Shipments or Anything.

You gotta be kidding...

Considering the paltry percentage of major shipments of anything Customs actually gets around to inspect, how do you think they will have the capacity to inspect every single itty bitty direct to consumer package that enters the county? They don't even do it now.

Just another unfunded mandate waiting to happen.

I thought I read somewhere that in the 2009 crises customs was indeed confiscating shipments at customs.

I don't care if thus sounds loony. . 38 guests reading this thread.. take a wild guess who they are? "They" watch this site. We're coming for you, "guests". ;)

Not necessarily. The search bots are pretty quick to pick up new items off the site as well. Between Google, Microsoft, Yahoo and a few others, those search bots could easily take up a good chunk of those 38 guests. ;)

This whole thing sucks, but surely these geniuses have considered how foolhardy it would be politically to put all the online vendors out of business while this country is still trying to dig out of a recession. I'm guessing that online sales are a pretty hefty chunk of the one billion annually, so this would be a pretty asinine move economically as well.

Just my :2c:, and I need a glass of wine.

What really bothers me about this is that pipe tobacco and cigars are legally sold online (although they can't be legally shipped to some places, like Washington State.) I know cigarettes and cigarette tobacco can't be sold online. Tobacco pipes are also legal to sell on-line. Ebay even allows sales of tobacco pipes, even though it doesn't allow tobacco. Vaping devices, except maybe for cig-a-likes, are probably more similar to tobacco pipes than anything else. I don't understand how the FDA's mandate and enabling statutes would give them the authority to regulate them.

I doubt the FDA has the authority to regulate batteries. I really don't see how their mandate could extend to other vaping accessories such as attys, tanks, and cartos. They need to go back to regulating actual tobacco products and live vaping alone. Perhaps as vapers we need to contact the cigar lobby. I hear they are pretty powerful. If the FDA comes after us, cigar & pipe smokers are the next likely targets.

Vaping has been a wonderful addition to my life. I haven't had the urge to smoke a cigarette, pipe, or cigar since I purchased an eGo. The FDA and Congress need to keep their hands off of this industry that reduces harm. Big tobacco needs to stay out of it too. We all need to keep on vaping and show them that we are here to state and ready to fight!

I don't know if this has been mentioned in depth (I am still getting through this thread, currently on page 15)
I have mentioned this before...there is an international trade issue here.
The Chinese manufacture the lion's share of the hardware (probably even the batts and cartos used by BT).
They are making BIG BUCKS off of this whole vaping deal and I can see where they would hold more sway than the ANTZ's BT and BP.
BT should be cool about what they intend to push and how because they run the very distinct risk of pissing off their suppliers.
Seriously..I doubt if China would decide to drastically reduce their revenues by ceasing to make advanced equipment, cartos, tanks, RD/RBA's, juice etc. in favour of manufacturing a whole bunch of cigalikes with prefilled cartos..it's not in their best interest.
They will not take this foolishness lying down - trust me.
If FDA attempts to ban hardware, well......there will just be a lot of really fancy flashlights and other usable contraptions being exported from there.

There is no limit to the absurd lengths our government will go to. So, I'd suggest it's better to be safe and stock up. I figure at about 5ml a day, 32 gallons or so of unflavored nic juice should last about 20 years. Buy it now, while you still can, stick it in a deep freezer and you'll be fine. Regulating the hardware itself would be an impossibility these days with the myriad of electronics on the market.

Everybody calm down! The "gubment" has tried this kind of thing before "sort of". They were gonna do a total ban of guns, large capacity magazines, what they "deemed" as assault rifles, an on and on. NONE OF IT GOT DONE!! Now, granted, there are probably a lot more gun owners than e-cig users, but the bottom line is they talked a lot of s**t but they couldn't follow through on it. Gun owners have the NRA, we have CASAA!!

I'm not claiming that it CAN'T BE DONE but it won't be as easy as those jagaloons in Washington D.C. think it'll be. I'd like to think there are still enough of us who don't live off the gubment tit and still have enough common sense to bring this to the same conclusion as their so-called Communistic gun ban. Just my :2c:

I do think Ecigs are taboo to the FDA and big tobacco, and all those glorious tax dollars the counties are counting on. It so absurd that they allow cigs to be sold but may ban Ecigs. I do admit that I do think its inevitable because vaping just in the past year has grown alot, as well as the new vendors popping up, so they are getting panicky. Politics suck. It's getting harder to ignore us so they figure they better ban us.

I have some nic in the freezer but yea, I might get another 500 ml or more to shove in there just in case. I mean why not? Just saying...I don't trust politicians and the FDA. Nowadays I don't trust any of our government agencies. They keep trying to ban everything.

I am so sick of the government trying to control peoples lives. I am SO F____ sick of it! I hope they cross a major line soon and America citizens say ENOUGH.

And it is not difficult to ascertain which and what type of elected offcial wants to control our lives and which ones/type are more apt to leave us alone. Unfortunately, there are many people who vape who don't know the difference or would rather not acknowledge that their very own sympathies have propelled this type of politician to positions of power.

Insofar as internet sales, this thing has BLOOMED...this genie is so totally out out the bottle.
There are like, a million stores out there now (ok, a million is a bit dramatic but you catch my point) and that fact that they would be putting all those businesses OUT of business would not look good when the politicians claim that they care about small businesses.
