I definitely feel out of place vaping in public. I have always hated attention - when I was in high school, my dad and I built a tricked out VW beetle. It was really cool but I always hated the fact that people stared at me driving by . .waved at me, etc. Same thing with vaping . .people see it and wonder what it is. I don't mean to be rude and I wish I was more outgoing .. but I just like to be left alone.

Cure for that is simple......push past it.The more you vape in public the less you'll feel self conscious. People are much too busy and absorbed in their own personal worries/issues to worry much about that strange device in your mouth.

Almost all the comments Ive received have been very positive.

I have felt the same about vaping in public. However, today, was different. Upon parking and locking my car, I started to vape, as I headed into Trader Joes. I stopped vaping short of the front entrance. Today, it felt natural to vape openly in public.

My thinking and feelings were, when I was smoking cigarettes, I would get that LOOK, as the smoke drifted within the smelling range of bystanders. At times, I remember receiving looks of disdain, and rightfully so. However, today, was going to be much different. I was vaping plumes of sweetness.

I wonder how many people thought to themselves, as I was happily vaping away and approaching them . . . "Here comes another smoker. I'd better brace myself for the nasty smoke." I wonder what they were thinking when they were greeted by the smell of the pineapple peach?

Here in the S.F. Bay Area, considering the local anti smoking movement, there is a right time and right place for me to vape. As such, I will no longer vape out of site.

Today was a fantastic Vaping day for me . . . Vape Proud!

I vape publicly without worry. Have from day one. I CBA to worry about what people are whispering and pointing about. I do, however, make sure to vape only at appropriate times. I don't walk through the grocery store blowing clouds. In the parking lot of said grocery store is a different story. There is a time and place for everything. :)

I've found most people to be curious. If I have a cigalike, and the end lights up, I often get accused of going "off the wagon" (My "kids" watch me very carefully to make sure I'm not smoking again). When I have my eGo or Spinner, it's a different story. There's no light on the end. My students actually let me vape by the open classroom doorway, so they can smell the "flavour of the day", and usually, when I walk into the classroom, they want to know what 'smell' I'm vaping today. Beside, they like watching these giant plumes come out my nose. It makes me look like a dragon.

Thank you all for the comments. As more and more people get educated hopefully one day it will be accepted everywhere.

Yes, hopefully, someday vaping will not be associated with smoking, as many people are predisposed to dislike smoking.

As I had just posted in another thread, we vapers need to introduce vaping to the general public in a smart and in a non alarming way. Until then, vapers will be looked upon as smokers.

My new provari looks smaller than my evic. I feel more stealthily now. Lol just messin. Stealth is for the birds. I think vaping helps me stay sober off drugs because I miss the big plums of other stuff aka green and I get mega plums of vape. I think people should respect us we are no longer in the process of dying but really starting to live. I don't spread cancer to myself or others and for that I'm darn proud.

Wa-wa-word. These are all the benefits of vaping.

As far as stealth vaping is concerned, we all learn when to stealth vape and when we don't have to. It has its place (movie theater, work, depending on what "work" is). That's one of the many, many wonderful things about vaping.

This is a new, wondrous, innovative, cutting-edge scene we belong to.

First time I put on my Stormtrooper outfit and trooped an event for kids charities it felt weird too.Now I dont think twice about it, people can think what they want ......I know Im doing a good thing and thats all that matters

You got to dress in a Stormtrooper outfit?!?! Gah! JEALOUS!!!!!

I had to dress as Barney to get out of a Halloween shift 13 years ago at Media Play. There I was, Barney, among a group of kids. Oh they loved me. They wanted to hug Barney. But every time I swung around to hug a new kid, my tail whacked some other kid in the face. I think I [edit!!] hit nine kids that day.

I used some of the money I saved from not smoking anymore to fulfill a longtime dream and buy a Stormtrooper Kit that I built myself with help from the local 501st.

Not only do I get to wear it but I own it.Im sure you'll see me in it at Vapercon this year

Oh no! We better get back on topic quick.

I vaped in a movie theater last night. Took the wife out for her Bday. It is a dinner theater with the best sandwiches ever. I turned the LED off on my ProVari and vaped away through the whole movie. Helps that the guy that owns the place is a family friend.

It helps if you take baby steps. Pick one place you would not think of vaping and do it there. But again, there is a time and place. Just because vaping is safer than smoking doesn't give you the right to do it anywhere you want. Pick your battles and you will win every time.

Now to pick my place to vape that I have the high ground. Per art of war. Lol. Almost was target the other day but I went outside.
