Here, there, everywhere!
Uh oh....first problem with one.....I filled one with blubbery and have had no problems with it at all (accept the 510 connector thread isn't real smooth screwing in). I decided to fill another one with joogler's Forrest berry and when I went to screw it on the connector the plastic started spinning on the gold base. Just spins and spins but won't screw on. Not leaking tho....any ideas...probably cant use super glue can I?

Definitely. I think the problem is with the juice, not with the cartos. I've never been able to use VR4 in any carto. I think Vaperite just uses a real thick VG (it's a 50/50 mix). It's hands down the best RY4 I've ever tried, so if I have to drip, so be it. I just wish I could take it with me. I have a sick compulsion for this juice, I just don't want to be away from it. I don't know what's going on with the flavor either, but I'll play with it. The juice I'm using in all of these is Backwood's Casablanca. It's pretty thin so I don't think it's a wicking issue, but who knows. I think you have a winner on your hands, with a few modifications, which I know you are already aware of and working on. It's new, so of course there will be some kinks to work out.

seems to me its more of you had a issue with that specific pack, The majority of people are having great results, im not sure why your whole pack would have leaks.

there is no cracks in the tubes it looks like it is just seeping down thru the lines in the conector when i took the tube off (it wasnt hard ) it seems like tube id and conector od dont match up looks like a quality issue and ive read that im not the only one that had more than one that leaked right out of the box , i hope the 2nd box is better will check them tomarrow

HI Laura--I had mentioned earlier that you might want to try a lil corn starch paste homemade glue...very food safe of course....

I believe your problem with leaking is my same problem (after a cleaning), that is, not enough vegetable glue sealing off the stem pieces opposite the slits where the wicks protrude. I have a double jeweler's monocle that I can attach to my glasses. Lets me look REALLY close at something. I can clearly see that parts of the stem has glue and parts don't. Looks like the glue was "daubed" in place and not smeared around to cover the whole surface area of the stem. Because of this, juice seeps in between the stem and the metal base of the connector, floods the bottom of the cup under the coil, and right out the air hole in the bottom of the connector.

Now to qualify my answer, I didn't suffer any leaks until after I took this carto completely apart to see how it worked and clean the coil, and then took it apart again to discover the source of my now present leak (I had hoped it worked as well as the clearomizers seem to as far as them not leaking subsequent to dis-assembly and re-assembly as I haven't had a leak yet on that carto). I believe that even though there were areas of the stem not glued and sealed in place initially, the fact that my juice is thick kept it from seeping past those voids of missing glue. It should be noted that I could see a noticeable gap (under magnification) between the stem and the connector wall. Without glue to seal off this gap, gravity is going to force the juice up into the voids and over the top of the connector, down into the cup.

"Enough" of a seal was created (for me) by the daubing the glue in place. I think that as a QC and process improvement idea I would have the factory change their process so the glue is smeared or painted on the inside of the stem as opposed to it being daubed in place. It may very well be that it was intended that during the manufacturing process the glue was supposed to be more evenly spread out, perhaps by the action of assembling the pieces together. Regardless, this would be the first thing I'd get changed as I think that will resolve the leaking right out of the box issues some are having.

After doing some research I'm going to buy some vegetable glue to keep on hand so I can reseal the pieces back together after a good cleaning. I don't mind that at all. I broke the seal on what is considered a sealed and disposable unit. But, I like to tinker and to troubleshoot problems. I did pickup some Gum Arabic tonight after attending a wonderful Good Friday service at church. I applied some to two Vortexes so I'll see how it does. Right now I'm questioning whether or not the viscosity of the Gum Arabic is thick enough to seal the above mentioned voids. Guess I'll find out.

Teflon tape...have used it with leaky/cracked CE2s for a while now, mind you they fit together tighter. The stuff works kind of like cling wrap and turns pretty much clear once it's wet. I'll try to wrap one up, do some leak/durability tests, and get a pic of it up as soon as I can find my stupid camera. The stuff I have in my tool box here is non toxic and has no taste (I'm sucking on a piece of it now to check...mind you I've had this roll for YEARS).

I have teflon tape as well (from like 10 years ago) and I had seen your earlier post about using teflon tape. I tried that but may not have been putting the tape in exactly the right spot. I found that, at least the way I was trying to do it, that the tube and connector fit too tightly and it simply pushed the tape out of the way.

I'll have to revisit that tomorrow. A pic or detailed process description would be very helpful.

Played with these a little today. I wasn't happy with the wicking. There is just enough juice getting to the coil not to burn, but.. The hits are dry and low on flavor. It was night and day from an e2. I took one apart and like someone else said, raising the center cup and tube up just a hair allowed juice to flow. Seems like if the slits were elongated a little, I mean very little they would wick better. (sounds like a post in the ce2 thread haha) This could be a problem on just mine and a few others though. Many seem to be happy. The wicks are just getting pinched too much in mine. I'm using 100% pg in them so I can't see my other juices working well unmodified. Filling is the easiest over any other for sure. Very happy with that. Coil is at the bottom! just what I've wanted since using e2's. Once I pull up the tube a little these really work on par with a clearo. I'm only 2 in on my first pack so I might get into some that work great out of the box. I hope so because there's so much promise!

Same here. Got it to work great by pulling the inner tube off and reseating it just a little off of the bottom. This frees up the wicks a little and it works as well as my e2's now. Yours sound like a wicking issue. I bet the vapor you're getting is dry too?? It only needed to be half a millimeter higher and all is well. No leaking for me either. But I bet it is a possibility. Try it out. I was mad earlier but things are looking up for these.

I think I am going to wait on more Vortex till you get the next upgraded ones. I took apart three because of dry hits and burnt taste. I am visually impaired so these little things are hard for me to see. The three I took apart worked for the original fill, but now are all leaking out the center post.

I think it is a fantastic idea, no batting, clear, loads of vape. Just needs tweaking....

Seems there are alot of posts that say they work GREAT, and a good handful of people with issues... might just be a single production line of vortex that got thru quality control.

So, maybe I will try the fluxomizers and see how they treat me till the new vortex come thru!

I much enjoy the Fluxomizer, it remains my carto of preference for many e-liquids.

Heads up on the CE2:
If you have problems with vision or poor dexterity, be advised these can be a challenge to fill. Out of the box, they require a syringe or needle tip bottle to fill. Do go ahead and invest in something with a good stiff blunt tip needle (syringe or bottle) for filling. After pulling a small anti-leak ring, there are a couple of tiny holes you can fill through.

For me it's fast and easy to fill, but I do require good light, and a steady enough hand to get a needle in that small hole.

Sometimes getting a CE2 to perform optimal requires lifting up a tight fitting silicon ring a small amount with some kind of small tool. Again, this might be a challenge for someone that doesn't see well or has shaky hands.

Sorry missed that...how do I make it?

Lots of ways to do this...here is a flour based one: You could probably use corn starch instead of flour if you prefer, which 'might' be a little more sticky.
Make Non-toxic Paste

And then there are the milk based ones like paste back in kindergarten :)
Make Your Own Non-Toxic Craft Glue « : Blisstree - Serious Health and Wellness – Injected With Humor

And there are many many more ways to make food safe glues...if neither of these float your boat or require a special trip to the store...just do a google search on making your own non toxic glue :)
