It's a different kind of vape. Kinda like cotton candy...it flows right up and melts in your mouth

For now, you get more choices in resistance values if you go with 510 threads. I like th 2.4ohm range on my stock eGo batteries, and use them on my KR808D-1 batteries as well.
With the CE2, the coils are at the top...really close to your mouth...hence...they feel a bit warmer. A good fresh CE2 will even push vapor right into your mouth almost without even dragging. CE2 has a much easier draw than the Vortex to me...especially on my sealed up manual batteries.
CE2 needs tools to fill. I find myself using syringes and needle tip bottles for everything anyway (even direct dripping on atties)...less mess...easy measuring. Some juices you'll want to make adjustments (lift the ring) to the top seal for optimal wicking (but most will work fine right out of the box unless you're chain vaping really hard).
Also, it might be more my imagination than fact...but I think the shorter CE2 might have slightly better flavor production (shorter wicks?). Of course they don't hold as much juice as the XLs. I like and keep both kinds

I like the short ones on my Mini setups for golfing and fishin...KR808D-1 shorty auto batteries with 2.4ohm 510 fluxos on an adapter....beat them to heck and back and no leaks yet. I can suck them dry pretty fast so I fill plenty, cap them off with carto condoms, and take them along.
Only hitch I can think of with the metal CE2 (and this can happen with the clearos too)...is be careful shoving metal blunt tip needles in the holes in a way that might damage the black sock around the CE2. It's possible you can push that shrink wrap around the CE2 loose, or poke a hole in it if your needle is too fat...and that could lead to small bits of juice leaking in the center air tube and causing a 'gurgle'. If your needle catches the edge of that stuff and doesn't slide in easy...try a smaller needle, or just stop and fill from there. It's only happened to me once and I was still able to use the CE2 for weeks, it would just gurgle a little until the juice level went below the little tear I made.
One last thing with the CE2 that's a bit different. It's not a bad idea to get in a habit of letting off the button shortly before your draw is over. Reason being...condensation can build up in the rings and cap and gurgle if you don't. Using a nice open drip tip can help alleviate gurgle potential as well. These babies do put out lots of vapor so sometimes it needs help not getting some of it trapped in the rings and tips
