Ok I was finally able to afford the vortex and received them today. Now when first looking at them they look very interesting up close. When you fill it with liquid it kinda looks like one of those stand up tube bubble lamps like this:
Bubble%20lamp%20blue%201.jpg

Which I am sure if BR gets his mind tinkering he can sure make the vortex light up like that too! But anyway Filled up my first. Now the mouth piece on there I like but dont at the same time. I like mouth pieces to be more sturdy? not squishy so I decided to use one of the black rubber mouth pieces you get with a fluxo. That I will tell everyone, Dont do! for some reason that cause it to leak a little around the base.
So I switched back to the come along with mouthpiece and no leak issue. I have had it full for nearly 2 hours sitting on my desk with not a drop on the desk. When using it, I can say it is comparable to the fluxo but TO ME at least it doesnt bring out as much flavor as the flux does but that very well just may be me. Vapor is great production, As for any throat hit, people who know me know I have NEVER experienced a throat hit so I cannot say anything to that fact *and yes I have even tried throat hit additives which did nothing but give a migraine.

So I will do something I havent done in a while. I will actually 'rate' something.
I give the Vortex 4 out of 5 DANCING BANANAS!

Still going strong on my first two Vortex here :) Lost count of refills, but it's got to be somewhere around 10 each by now. I did clean them in an ultrasonic cleaner and took out the ALF when they started feeling a little stiff on the draw (somewhere around fill 5).

Which type battery do you use?
I've found that my KR808D-1 batteries bring these to life (a little more voltage) a little better than my stock eGo batteries do.

There's a good possibility that a 2ohm version of these will give them much more zest on stock 510 batteries.

I favor the vape of the Fluxos still as well at this point, but PITA to refill and change flavors.
Vortex are so easy to fill and change out that I'll always want to keep a box around :)

OK, I have to say something that will make people think I'm crazy. I really like the white tip that comes with the Vortex. So much so, that I use them on my Clearomizers as well.

I definitely like the soft feel, but avoid it when I'm carrying it around due to loose fitting. If they could improve to tighter fit, then it'll be great.

Heres something I tried i used a regular drip tip in there, and under the drip tip I put one of those O rings from the ce2's in, they fit great around the umm center tube? dunno what to call it lol the shaft that works...the o ring fits perfectly on the shaft and then drip tip over that works great!

For folks that don't have any CE2/Fluxos laying around who are set on using a drip tip that fits a little loose and can leak...

You can make your own inner ring by cutting the bottom off of a Vortex plug with a razor or box cutter. Slip that in, then pop on your drip tip.

K after you have used it for a few days if performance starts to flag you can throw it on a 3.2v device and it will come back a bit...

I used a standard ego I got from libertyflights and a saber touch, does a heck of a lot better flavoring on 3.7v tho I will say that

I've lost track of the number of days but I've been refilling the same 3 Vortexes and it looks like they're going to have the same longevity as the Fluxomizers. I killed one...yeah, completely destroyed it by accident but it still fired, the poor thing. And, I still have one unopened.

Thanks for the idea of using the package as a carrier. Will try it tomorrow and store them in my car's center console as the first test.

Still using the same 4 from a week or more ago. One has dropped in performance but might come back with a dry burn. I have dry burned each probably 4-5 times and that keeps them in top shape. I remove the tubes when dry burning. I adjust the wicking by moving the middle tube up and down to allow just the right amount of juice to flow. As for transport putting a condom from a carto on with a hole in it works great. But I have a 4 battery foam insert that some 808 bats came in that works to hold 2 bats and 2 vortex. Just slides into a box the size of a 5 pack of vortex. Works great to carry around. It's been the easiest week of vaping yet.

Not recommending this since ymmv but the new whistle style aluminum drip tips don't cause the leakage a regular 510/901 will because the interior's thick enough to...whatever. I don't even try and figure this stuff out really. I was watching Darcy's YouTube video today and when she said her Pawn worked I decided to try these. The stainless steel whistle tip makes it top heavy but the aluminum doesn't add as much weight.
