I'm calling BS on a few posters.
It fell over lightly on the table?
I don't remember ever dropping(with pic of shattered unit)

I have (2) eVic and both have taken several bad tumbles each. Fortunately so far I haven't even suffered a top poping off. However I understand that to be a very common problem. Also a simple fix in most cases.
I know the weight of most tanks(add liquid) and they make most Devices TOP HEAVY. Even a tip over results in a Medium impact. Ih tha tank strikes anything except the Flat of the Table, tank becomes a Fulcrum point and places much more impact pressure on the Head.

One Look at the Broken Lens on the other eVic indicated a severe Impact. The control cover tube is Thick and impressively strong. It is not glass or brittle plastic.

Should not keep blaming the Device or Damage incurred, even if the abuse was unintentional. People should know they can be broken, but save the BS.
eVic is more advanced in Technology than any mass produced Mod and while not as Heavily over built as a Provari it is much stronger than those $300-$500 cell phones we carry that will shatter at the drop of a hat.

My last Drop - Thursday - over 40" off the top of a water softener onto a concrete Basement floor. Snapped the ce5 on it in half but no damage and on scuffing on the eVic. (but, yes I was in a panic as it fell)

For those unaware - New eVic heads Have 2 Screws added to the top assembly to prevent head separation.

True enough. And the reason that while I think someday I might love to get an eVic or one of the other snazzy APVs some folks have, the money's not there right now. My Twists work fine and if I bust one, they're not that expensive to replace.

Tech toys are cool and fun and all but you gotta face the reality that things get broken. I'm in a income slump (yay... fun... blerg) and sold off my iPhone. It was not a "need", it was a "want". And purty as they are, one drop and oh boy. Repairs start at something like $250. Yeesh.

And I'm a klutz. I'm very, very good at finding creative ways to break things. :)

I had a tiny crack develop in the screen of mine, then the top kept popping off, finally the top popped off and the wires broke. I ended up soldering them back on and wrapping some electrical tape around the head to hold it on. And bought a ProVari. I loved my eVic but it really is a flimsy device.

a little epoxy glue fixes that problem. mine popped off also, but wires didnt come undone. just grabbed some epoxy and glued it. still works like a champ. i really have no gripes about it

I would have done the same, but the screen is cracked vertically by the fire button as well as horizontally right above the display. At that point I figured why bother if it's going to keep causing me problems. Plus, it was a great way to convince the wife that I had to spend the money on something more solid.

I have put big o-rings round my mods on the top and bottom, to give a little "shock protection" for if they get knocked over on tables, or take a small tumble.

My eVic has been knocked over dozens of times (we have 3 cats at home) and at vape-meets, and it still looks and functions like new.

Sorry for the misfortune of the OP, but it has been my experience that the eVic is actually pretty well-built, for what it is. Just don't treat it any more roughly than you would a laptop or a bottle of Scotch... ;-)

In my opinion, is just a matter of luck or bad luck, the way it falls down. I agree that it could be more stiff, but anyways is just an ecig mod...why we don't complain for the mobile phones.? Have you ever tried to drop an IPhone from some distance? It may break and it may not. We still love it tho and that doesn t make it a bad phone.

Damn, I break a lot of things. The provari seems to be the only true design to take a beating. But for 200 i dont know. Evic, Zmax, SVD or pro? what to do

I feel like for the price, the SmokTech SID is worth looking at too. For $40 if it sucks I wouldn't be heartbroken. But I love my ProVari and I'm happy I finally pulled the trigger.

didn't the 'newer' models prevent this more from happening ?

when did you originally get it? i feel like you have the very first version to come out and thats why it broke so easily?

I don't want to jinx myself, but I haven't dropped it since getting it almost a month ago.

(Mind you I only take it into rooms that are layered with rugs/carpets :) lol )
