Some folks just do not want to hear that vent holes aren't going to help if they're inadequately sized, blocked by the cell swelling or debris and or most importantly, if the wrong chemistry cell is being used.

I witnessed a fully skeletonized tube become shrapnel & most pieces of the rda fly with enough force to go through a commercial plate glass window not too long ago. Had it not been dropped into a metal trash can just before it went pop the outcome would've been disastrous.
Wrong chemistry cell, .0something Ω, people that have little understanding and a need to push everything to the edge.

In the hands of the inexperienced mechanicals can become dangerous in a blink of an eye, even if tube ventilation is present and the correct chemistry cell is used.

In the hands of the experienced when used with common sense and a rational definition of safety they are no more dangerous than an ego battery.

There are dozens of videos on You Tube of Lithium Ion battery explosions and fires. It was difficult to choose which ones to share.

and these examples make it seem plausible to you that a battery would throw flame around a man's entire body almost to char his flesh. What is the point of that. You know as well as I do his body was burned in the fire not by the battery. I dont care to carry on with this nonsense, theres no point.

I wish you would stop. It's getting a bit disrespectful in my opinion. There is no need to argue about battery safety at this juncture, is there, or how exactly a battery could/could not cause fire/damage. It clearly started the blaze as well as incapacitating the gentleman. What the "fire" was made of, (besides the gentleman himself) is really not that important.

You don't go to the vacuum of space to vape. That's not how it works.

Cheers,

Anna

Unbelievable. You're just being argumentative now. I believe I have clearly explained why this unfortunate soul's body was engulfed in flames.

The man died from shrapnel (juice device) into his brain from the explosion of the battery and mod. A side effect of the battery explosion was the fire it caused. Li-ion batteries often explode into flames, like in the videos I shared. The fire, which was left unattended due to the victim being dead, grew in size and burnt most of the man's body. I don't see what is so difficult to understand.

There is no point in having further debate with you. I don't wish to carry on with your nonsense, either. Have a nice day. :)

Ummmm...
.we all are quite aware that the house fire started by the battery is what burned 80% of his body. We also know when the mod blew up, shrapnel to the head killed the man making it impossible to run from said fire. We are quite aware that the headline reads wrong .
Do you really think you're on to some cutting edge information here? Did you bother reading the thread? Nobody thinks the battery burned 80% of the man's body.

A guy died and you want to play king of the mountain. Unbelievable .

He was a young guy, trying vaping for the FIRST TIME.

I'm not so sure about that, based on the pic that was posted of him on pg. 3. He's got what looks to be a tube shaped mod (maybe it's the mech, maybe not) with an RBA or tank on it, in his right hand. Would be interesting to know when that pic was taken of him. Might shed more light on how much experience he had with vaping?

Yes. The fire burned the already dead body. Fact is, he was dead before the fire and he was dead due to shrapnel in the brain. Shrapnel thrown hard enough due to the battery blowing. What is this nitpicking on the fire thing? What’s your point here? Because the fire isn’t what killed the man anyway.
