I'm been vaping for almost a week, but I'm still not sure about it.
I can't tell if teh cartomizers are empty or not. They don't seem to have much taste at all anyway. I don't want to waste the juice but would like to use it all because when I refill them I won't be using the same flavors. I'm looking at vg juice suppliers now but they seem a little hard to find some that just sell the vg? Maybe you have to specifically tell them vg? The last couple days I've smoked more analogs and can feel it in my chest. But You know I didn't feel that great vaping either? Does the feeling really go away after your body gets used to it?

I just don't know?! I was so excited when I got my kit! Thinking about trying the patches again cause I really need to stop smoking!

Any help would be appreciated!

Shannon,
What model of e-cig are you using? -- Where did you purchase it from?
Perhaps more importantly...what were the carto's supposed to be (nic strength, flavor?)

DaBrat does make a good point. There are at least a few cases where someone has reported their carto's just weren't right! It's a little difficult to tell if that's your case here.

can you provide a bit more information - so that others here might be able to offer better suggestions?

Is one week enough time for your body to expel all of the toxins in regular analogs? I think getting off analogs is one of those you have to feel worse before you feel better scenarios. I think I read on this forum that the VG stuff specifically increases lactic acid buildup in your muscles so you probably want to hydrate well.

I'm sure some pro's here probably can be more specific in helping you but can you explain your symptoms when just vaping with VG?

Thanks!

I am using a vaporking I got through vapor4life. It seems to work pretty good, just not sure if the cartomizers are consistent or if it's just me.

I'm using mostly vg at 18 mg in peanut butter cup. I think that flavor will be hard to tell when you get the burnt taste when the juice is gone because of the chocolate flavor.

The last day that a vaped alot I was using pg in 24mg peach. It seemed to take the craving away put at the end of the day I was noticing some weird muscle contractions.

I guess with the vg the main symptom was being tired it seemed. Of course my throat and chest felt a little weird but not bad I was pretty crabby and out of sorts but that could be just from the other toxins I was withdrawing from in the ananlogs.

Alot of people here talk about how great the taste is and I can hardly taste anything. Wondering if it's just me and I should buy better juice, my tastebuds, or what.

What businesses sell american made vg juice??

When you stop smoking analogs, your body goes through alot. Its trying to detox over 4000 different chemicals.Your tastebuds are fried from smoking and that takes time to heal and improve. Its not an overnight miracle,It takes some time to adjust. If you give it a fair chance Im pretty sure it will work for you,but its up to you.

Same here, at first it was good then it wasn't and I have days when I enjoy vaping more than others. I do it a lot at work.

A week after I stopped smoking analogs and started vaping I was feeling pretty good in the morning but felt a little dehydrated
2 weeks in I started feeling more dehydrated and kinda tired but I think I was getting sick from the flu.
3 weeks in I started feeling really ill and came down with the flu, upper respiratory infection and bronchitis. I hadn't been sick like that since I was a teenager.
I went to the doctor and he said that because I had quit smoking after smoking for 24 years my lungs were working hard to expel all the junk in them and heal. This made me more susceptible to getting sick. He doubted that my new vaping habit had much to do with anything but my dehydration and just recommended to up my level of fluid intake while using my PV.

As for flavor? Keep your filler clean and you should be ok. Your taste buds are recovering from the shock of being battered by so many different chemicals that you put in your mouth when smoking.

4 weeks in I noticed that food I liked before I don't like anymore. I can taste that things are bad now and that's good. Having working taste buds will keep me away from Long John's fish for a very long time (and I used to love the clams so much when I smoked).

7 weeks in? Well, that's where I am now. The only issue I have is the constant battery care and cartridge care. It was so easy just to buy smokes and a lighter rather than all the stuff I have to carry now. However, my life and lungs are worth the extra effort. After all this is the very first time in my life where I believe I will finally be free from the evil that is an analog cigarette.

Good luck and never quit quitting.

Shannon, I'm curious how you're vaping. Are you taking a couple puffs an hour or are you chain vaping? Using a battery or the passthru?

If 24mg was keeping you from craving, stick with it. I started with 4mg because I didn't know where to start, and that was ok, but I just upped to 8mg and will probably keep 4mg on the passthru and only use the 8mg on battery. I tend to chain vape at the computer at home. 8mg seems too strong on the passthru, but just right on the battery, where 4mg is perfect on the passthru and weak on battery.

Play with it and do what ever works to get you off the analogs! :)

Try using the higher nic during the day and a lower nic content at night. Also make sure to drink more water! Give your body and tastebuds a chance to heal you'll find in a few weeks things will be better.

Get you a 510 and some 36mg eliquid and drip directly on the atomizer. I tried refilling carts (what a job and a waste of time to me) didn't satisfy me so I started dripping. This produces a ton of vapor and good throat hits. This is the only way I could be satisfied and finally got off of analogs.
Of course this is just my opinion.

Try not to let frustration get the best of you.

In general, when you are starting out it is better to err on the side of having your e-liquid too strong. That way your cravings will be less.

And go ahead and switch out your cartomizers early if you think they are starting to get low. After an hour or so you can put the one on that you recently took off and see if it still seems a bit 'dry.' If it does, take it off and put in the pile to be refilled.

It is false economy to try to get every last little bit of liquid out of a cartomizer or cartridge. Generally the atomizer in the cartomizer will last longer if you don't vape it completely dry. And the filler... well, burnt filler renders the thing useless for most of us.

V4L now carries some VG cartomizers. LiteCigUSA carries some VG USA-made liquid.

But chances are some of the symptoms you are describing are actually from stopping smoking (or cutting back) rather than from vaping. It does take a while to detox.

I know that now.... 80 days into my journey... I can breathe better than I have been able to in YEARS. I don't cough every day. I feels so much better that I can hardly believe it is real.

The first several weeks were full of learning and experimenting. I have finally reached the point where I feel like I know what I am doing. It has worked for me!

I hope you stick with it and figure out what works for you.

:)

No kidding! I've been off analogs for over 3 weeks now, and when I smoked I was a Mt Dew addict - now I can't stand the taste of it.

Your doc was absolutely right - when you quit smoking the once-paralyzed-from-smoking cilia in your lungs start working properly again, and the cilia are the little "hairs" that keep your lungs clean by moving all the junk out of them. One of the side-effects from quitting analogs is a nasty cough, ironically enough.

Don't quit quitting.. amen :)

Tasty Vapor has a good selection of VG juice, too. What I like is that you can choose the ratio of PG/VG if you want a mix. Also, if you want to play around w/different nicotine strengths, you can order a bottle of "doubler" in the same flavor as your nic juice. That's what I did - I ordered a 1oz bottle of 48mg nic juice, and a 4oz bottle of 0mg doubler so I can cut the nic juice to the level that's right for me.

At first I could taste the flavors, then nothing. I wonder if it is a bit like smoking analogs where they don't taste the same after awhile than they did at the beginning. Plus, I have been vaping a lot. I decided to order samples from several different suppliers so I can see if there is a difference in taste/strength. I also have flavorings and will be mixing my own to see how that works. Hopefully, I will be able to taste the different flavors again. Right now, I am vaping doublemint and can barely taste it so my taste buds must be fried.
