I won't say much about the original decks, they are all just terrible to me, I'm sure profiles do make a significant difference in many atomizers, I'm not a big fruit vape guy, very few I enjoy, not huge on tobaccos either, again very few I enjoy. Mostly bakery, some light fruit, some RY4 variants, mostly sweeter stuff.
For my comparison to the Gem I used similar builds of SS 316L 26g, I did give the ceramic Squape deck a little advantage by upping coil ID an extra .5mm to 3mm. Juice is a Black walnut liqueur with light chocolate & pastry notes, In the Gem I can pick out every nuance, in the Squape it basically tastes like a tootsie roll.
Second Juice I tried is GLV Orange Blossom which is basically a blood orange muffin with a few different light creams. Tasted as I would expect in the Gem, in the Squape it is quite muted, barely a hint of the creams and muffin, and the blood orange is quite off.
Now this is an older Squape R, with an RS Tank, and the single coil ceramic deck, so while technically it is not an RS it is exactly the same deck with RS parts added.
Its a good vape, and may work better with brighter fruity type juice, but it still has the muted flavor which goes back to the first time I tried it. It is wicking fine, and I tried many different builds previous to this one, just never lived up to the Hype.
When I compare it to tanks like the Gem, Ubertoot, GSII, KF4, it is just not the same. I go through a fair bit of the GLV Orange Blossom, its pretty much my measure for a new atomizer, I know what it should taste like. Squape just doesn't do it justice.
For different flavor profiles, maybe bright fruits? It may work well, but I'm not much for berries or melons.
I know many brag, and say its so good, that just has not been my experience. I was really hoping the ceramic deck was going to change that, it did help tremendously, but it is still well below the majority of my atomizers. Squape is a neighbor to the FEV3 which is another one that is hugely hyped that I find very lacking. Now the Flash VS, is right up with the flavor crowd, go figure?
