If you notice, most e-cigs are like GGTS. Stealth (with the 4 cuts on its cup and its moving pole) is copied too. Slim's locking function is copied too from too many people. Now we have the Ody copy. I am waiting for Iatty copy and we are done for now. Later all people will copy Ithaka.

My intensions are to make the whole world make e-cigs like GG series. Thats the biggest success of GG and his people. Let the others looking at us, trying to copy us all the time. We have to be proud for what is happening. We managed to make e-cigs wordwide a personal scene!

Well I see it as a good thing. When people try the copy its like a small movie trailer. They would be intrigued to see more. And then they would join GG forces to experience the real thing. GG is the most exciting movie there is.

Exactly Kin. We all get more poor making desisions like this. But the consequences seem so far away from us that we dont pay attention. We do it only when it hits out doors. But the best thing is that we get surprised when we see the new situation in our door without remembering that we were the ones we brought it to our house.

we totally agree Mata. If its a copy of Ody it vapes like Ody. It cant vape different!
We dont care if someone made the same thing, we care about who is behind the thought of this thing. Many car companies can make a ferrari, its easy. But who thought of this car is what we have to concern about.
GGTS has copied too, Iatty and Stealth and many GG functions. They work as the original but thats not the point of course.

That one is even worst because it's made of chromed copper, at least the brushed one was actually SS...
As far as what Scott said, i think he gave his honest opinion. Does that clone works good? Of course it does, it's a copy of the Odysseus (my all time favourite atty)! Is it better than many mid-price atty around? of course it is, again it's a copy of the Ody and being a copy of something marvellous it has to work at least fine!
Is it a blatant copy? yes it is, does Scott promote copying? no, he says copying is to blame....
Would i buy the copy? No ty, i already own two Odys and I preordered the Ithaka

the point is that which is born from great minds with the intention of offering to "friends" "fans" "supporters" an excellent product has been robbed of any meaning that is beyond the grim commercialization of the product and the consumer. for a few dollars that will go into the pockets of criminals addicted to diversify their criminal trafficking, the states and public opinion will put bans on all that we like and that really worth, the market flooded with inferior products and copies of other copies is destined to implode.

I think the important message here to convey to GG newcomers is that there are a whole lot of fakes out there and people should be aware of that and if in doubt check with us here before making any purchase. The sheer amount of copies just shows the popularity and success of the GG range of PV's and Atties.

Personally, I would rather opt for something w/ a lifetime warranty that has threads like butter. Wouldn't pay a nickle for a knock off PV of any kind, if I could help it. Would rather have one or two of the pieces of high quality gear that I really love than dozens of things that aren't built to last. JMHO though, to each his or her own.

after reading through the whole thread there isnt really much that has not been said already. i still want to shine a light on this whole thing from the perspective of a vaper, me obviously, who is just about to get his first gg device.

right around the time the pre-order for ithaka started, there were those 20 to 25 $ US ody v1 copies available. so actually i could have gone for the copy of ody v1 instead of pre-ordering ithaka. in fact, i could have gotten like 6 copies for the price of 1 ithaka. obviously i didnt (tbh i didnt even consider it a viable option for a split second), and i would like to tell you why.

first of all, i hate how those people just take the ideas of other people and try to make a living on their back. i dont have alot of money, so i need to spend it carefully. that doesnt mean buying cheap crap though. in fact, im too poor to buy products that lack quality. if and when i spend my money, i want to buy the very best thing i can get for it. so i absolutely cannot spend money on those cheap copies. furthermore, i love the idea of getting products that are innovative and have a touch of genius to them. so again, i cant buy the copies of ody v1.

additionally i really feel good about supporting the mind behind the product, plus its the right thing to do in my book. enabling imeo to keep being the innovative motor of the vaping community that he undoubtedly is and has been for the last years. and letting him know, that his work, dedication and restless effort are very much appreciated.

and thats why i pre-ordered 2 ithakas instead of thinking about buying like 8 copies of ody v1 plus a couple ggts copies!
