Our conversations were kinda funny at times. I don't have too heavy of a Texas accent, but it does come out at certain times or certain words. Once, I told her I needed to check the oil in the car, except when I say oil it sounds like "ol". So, she asks "What 'old' car?", so of course, now I ask about what old car she's talking about. It turns into an Abbott and Costello routine.
Kinda of a regionialism around here is using the word "Coke" to mean any kind of soda. It's not unusual to have someone at restaurant to ask what kinda "Coke" you want, that threw her a while. The funniest was at some burger place and the girl taking our order asked if she wanted a "Coke" and my GF ordered a Coca-Cola. The girl apologized and said they only had Pepsi. The look on my GF's face was priceless!
