You can't do a micro/macro wrap with ni200? Standard wraps only?

I think the concern is getting enough nickel wire in such a restricted area to get the ohms up to a functionally practical level with dual spaced coils, but the ipv 4 is supposes to fire down to .1, so, with some experimentation, I ought to be able to figure something out that works. *fingers crossed*

Dang that sucks..I have an SX mini on the way and was hoping to get all my tanks changed over with 26g ni200. Does 30g and 32g vape as well using TC cause I hate using those sizes in kanthal?

I've only used 28g ni200, my buddy that makes mods sent me the rest of his 100ft spool when he made me a DNA40, because he said he was done with evolv boards, and doesn't like TC. Even with 28g I have to plan carefully to get builds into attys. Using a single coil 28g build I generally do 10-12 wraps.

You will probably be fine with 26g on the SX mini for single coils, it can do handle resistance ni200 builds better than a dna40 apparently, though I haven't tried yet myself. You could do a .06 ohm single coil and it'd only take 7, or 8 wraps on a 3mm bit depending on the leg length, should be manageable on a lot of single coil RTAs and RDAs.

I have some 30g ni200 on the way, with the hope of building successful dual coils for my RTAs that use them.

Got ya..I ditched all my drippers for tanks. I only have a MX v2 left for sampling DIY drop test. I did not realize that TC was gonna be such a pain in the .....

Damn, I'm jealous of you guys. Still waiting for Gear Beast to ship my Goliath. On the plus side, FT shipped my Silverplay clone.

Don't be jealous.. Waiting is the best part. It's like going out for a romantic dinner with you beautiful wife and knowing what's gonna happen when you get home

Weekend in review:

This is my second time typing this (thanks to a error message) so some stuff may be left out, as I am now typing ...... off.

I took the Goliath out for the weekend, and used only this tank all weekend, so I could be as objective as possible, and see how it works (somewhat) long term, as a daily device.

I built some 2.4mm chimney coils in it, and they fit. It vaped great, and had some awesome flavor, but after about the 3rd time refilling the tank, the wick was jacked up and misplaced to the point of saying f-ckit, turning the coils sideways, and running a wick through the middle. I was being very gentle with taking the tank on and off, but it still messed with the wick pretty bad.

Vaping on the Goliath all weekend, here is the overview:

Pros: - Great vapor, nice and thick 'cloud'.
- Surprisingly good flavor.
- Never a dry hit.
- Fills quickly, and with no tools.

Cons: - Runs through juice, BADLY. Suffers from constant 'empty tank syndrome.'
Either the capacity sucks, or juice is magically disappearing.
Doesn't last long trips. Might as well be in the 'drippers' catagory.
- Wick needs constant adjustment after filling, even when gingerly handling the tank.

The pro's seem to outweigh the cons! However, for me, they don't. The capacity is the big killer for me. If I can't go 10 miles from my house without needing a bottle in my pocket, it's a fail in my book.

JoeVan, My solution for extending time between juice fills is to reduce my wattage. I am vaping at 17 watts 0.58 ohms. Juice lasts a fair amount longer between refills compared to 30 watts. I never was a fan of warm vapes anyway, so this works for me. Still very decent vapor production. To each our own, I guess.

I get what you are saying.. it makes sense. Compared to the Goblin though, at the same wattage, the tank doesn't go nearly as far.

Neither one of them comes close to the Orchid in longevity though..

I vape all 3 devices at 36 watts. .5 build with 26 gauge in all 3 also.

Same build, same watts, different results. Goliath eats through juice way too fast. Goblin is middle of the road. Orchid wins in longevity.

For me, the trade-off isn't there.

Goblin is definately the winner when it comes to a all-around device. Nothing is perfect, but the Goblin is the closest thing to it that I have found.

This is why the Goliath works great for me. All I have to do is press down, and the barrel bends the wicks right into the juice channels. Refilling is super easy. I'm glad I'm a silica user :D

Is anyone else dealing with connection issues? My resistance is jumping all over the place and the screws are completely bottomed out. I'm not a big fan of two leads sharing one hole.
Yeah I did. I just backed out the screw some. Then re-tightened. At one point one of the coils wasn't connected at all. I took a hit,and the vapor was hot as hell.

More airflow than what? A goblin? I think its too close to tell, for me its very similar. FWIW, it seems airier than my goblin with 2.5mm ID coils, and slightly less airy than my goblin with 2mm ID coils.

Either way, the airflow is sufficient enough for me, and a nice easy draw. Really liking no bottom fill, haha, that is my favorite aspect of this RTA, and the reason it will likely see more love than the goblins going forward.

When you say no bottom fill what do you mean, can you fill it from the top?

And has anyone else had a problem with the negative post coming out completely?(i think its the negative one, its the one that doesnt have the insulators under it) Happened to me when positioning my coil, and I've also had problems with the ohms jumping around so Im worried its because it got pulled out and messed something up.

Is there a certain way you need to build this thing? I'm getting little to no flavor out of it at all. I have 2 goblins, one works and tastes great, the other I get no flavor either. Do you think theres a quality control issue with UD? I was really excited for this goliath but it tastes horrible. In all of my builds I've done 26awg, 8 wraps, .6 ohm.

Interesting.. Mine taste great. For me, the golden rule of vaping is that everting is subjective. I have a lemo drop that I'm not all that impressed with, but others love it. Maybe it's the wicking material your using or the ratio of VG/PG. I have some juices that tase better in certain RDAs. Not sure if that helps but..

Mines been doing that too. You just really have to pay attention to how your wires are being trapped under the screw. Try to be sure that the leads are parallel with each other and not crossing. I did this tonight and has been running a steady .5
