I get what you are saying.. it makes sense. Compared to the Goblin though, at the same wattage, the tank doesn't go nearly as far.

Neither one of them comes close to the Orchid in longevity though..

I vape all 3 devices at 36 watts. .5 build with 26 gauge in all 3 also.

Same build, same watts, different results. Goliath eats through juice way too fast. Goblin is middle of the road. Orchid wins in longevity.

For me, the trade-off isn't there.

Goblin is definately the winner when it comes to a all-around device. Nothing is perfect, but the Goblin is the closest thing to it that I have found.

I'm new to RTAs and while building the coils was ok for me, not as easy as a 3 or 4 post build.. the wicking has been so-so. It'll work for a while and get a dry hit, then work again.. but anyways the reason for the response was more WHY does the Goliath eat through so much juice? Someone posted that the build deck, the chimney, the air flow was all smaller than the Goblin, however the juice channels are larger. Is that the only main culprit for running through juices so quickly? I have no desire of getting into DIY juices, so was curious as to what my options are.

I'm running at 31w with 26g at .6. I prefer a warmer vape but not necessarily hot. I also only minimally to half way opened the juice control (maybe thats why I'm getting dry hits) and I'm running anywhere from max vg to 70/30 vg. Thanks! :)

The chimney airflow is definitely increased vs the goblin, IIRC its 6mm vs 4mm on the goblin, that could have something to do with it, even though the air intake on the base and deck are slightly smaller than the goblin.

Um, yes, open that juice flow up. I've only run it wide open, and had no dry hits on it over the weekend with a basic 26g kanthal dual coil .4ohm @ 35-40W.

I also don't notice it using juice more rapidly than the Goblin. I dunno, maybe I'm crazy, but they both go through a 3ml tank in a couple hours for me. I had similar builds on both of them, and they both ran through juice pretty quickly.

Haha on my first build with Nana Cream, I ran through a tank in less than an hour.. Wide open air flow and half way for the juice channel. I can chain it at times, but most of the time I'm good about it. Was at home watching a hockey game so nothing exciting.. just the gf, first goliath build, some beers and hockey.

I'll have to try some in the goliath later, I took it down to rebuild with ni200 yesterday and broke one of the coils fastening it down, damn nickel wire.

So I now have spent about 24 hours with the Goliath, coming directly from a Goblin. Here are my initial notes.

Easier to build on the goliath if only because the two post design allows you to center much easier over the holes, however the 4 post design isn't that much more difficult. You still wont be able to build, say, 22g macro coils in the Goliath because the build deck itself is still kinda small. What the goliath really does is gives the operator/builder a greater margin of error as far as wicking goes. As you fellow Goblin owners are all too aware of, proper wicking is EVERYTHING. It took me less time and less fiddling to get the proper lenght of cotton to fit properly, plus putting the chamber on top sorta kinda forces the over hang to go into the chambers.

The build I used/using 6 wraps of 24g over a 2mm rod. my device (Sig150) reads it at 2ohm but I think its a shade under 3 according to my meter. Wicked with regular organic cotton.

Filling was easy through the slots, no complaints there. Surprisingly it was much easier for me to attach the tank section over the built deck than I though it would be. Don't force it though. Tank capacity is what it is. I have no complaints because filling is a breeze. Goes through juice fast. However I think I vaped longer AFTER the juice was below the metal part than what I could see in the glass section.

The vape: Good. Damn good. Some restriction but basically very open. I'm a long time dripper so I like my airflow and this thing delivers. Slightly better than the Goblin in that regard. Flavorful, nuff said. I vaped what I could only describe as my 'cotton killer' juice till my wick ran dry. Switched to another flavor and the extreme menthol of the first tank was gone within a couple of hits. Have yet to get a dry hit. Not even a hint that it may run dry after a long drag.

Aesthetics. Generally I'm more of a function over form guy. I don't care if the device looks like a deformed thumb as long as it vapes good. Those fins...unnecessary. Could have used some of that space for bigger tank perhaps. I could also tolerate more space by way of just having the device being a larger circumference. Don't care about overhang from my device and all that. That's just me though.

Lastly. No leaks. None. Not just a little bit from the air holes or some insignificant amount you can wipe off with a shirt bottom....Zero....nada.

Would I buy this again? Apparently I already have because I got sent two of these at the same time.

I have mine sitting on a Zero, how befitting given my username, and I find that if it sits flush on the device, I cannot move the AFC ring because it's stuck sitting right on top of the mod. I find that I have to allow the tiniest of spaces so I can adjust it if I wanted to. Do you find this to be true on yours as well?

And did you you mean a hair under .2ohms and not 2ohms because according to Steam, granted I'm using it correctly, to get .29ohms on a 2mm using 24g would require about 8 wraps with dual coils.

I re-metered and it's actually about 2.5 ohms.

Oh and about the air flow control. I hadnt really tried it until now because I obviously have and will continue to have it full open but if I turn it counter clockwise, it basically has enough resistance to unscrew the whole device but if I turn it clockwise it will turn...slowly and with a bit of resistance, to a desired setting.

Remind me never to pre order anything from vaportekusa again. I still haven't canceled my preorder but it's driving me insane. You preorder hoping to get something as soonas it's released. We'll I'm still waiting for my Goliath when other stores have them instock for the same price or less. I emailed them and asked what's going on and they said the release date from youde is April 16th. If that's the release date how is it all these others places already have them?

Sorry just had to rant there.

Sad thing is I preordered the silverplay clone from fasttech on the same day which had an expected release date long after and it should be here in a few days.

My orchids have been holding me over but after hearing all these great things about the silverplay, goblin, and Goliath, I had to get one of each.

I'm assuming cuz they released them in batches. It was slayed for a limited run so your vendor may have gotten in on the second or third round when the demand for it caused them to increase their production run.

At the end of the day it's yet another rta.

I've been using mine as I switch between the Goblin and the Goliath. Both tanks are full on epic beast mode. I barely touch my drippers anymore, as it's like I have two high capacity drippers now. The Goliath does run through some juice, much more than my Goblin. I have an SX Mini M Class on the way, and I really hope I can get a nickel build on one of them or I may have to resurrect my Atlantis tanks with the Vapor Shark prebuilt could.

I have. My "L" shaped post (positive) was loose and it was causing my resistance to jump like crazy. It drove me nuts and I was constantly rebuilding it trying to find the problem. I was able to partially solve the problem by pulling up on it hard with pliers and bending it slightly. This caused it to kinda jam in place and the resistance stopped, but now my post almost touches the chimney wall. Now that that is fixed, I'm getting endless dry hits at 30 watts. I've wicked it over and over again, but that clearly isn't the issue. I must have damaged an oring somewhere and the vacuum is lost, although it seems air tight. I loved this thing, but it became a complete disaster real quick. Fortunately my vendor is kind enough to take it back and I ordered another. It was amazing for the first week I owned it and I can't wait to get a replacement.

I'm sorry, your typo made lol! I'm also sorry your experience wasn't amazing, if the tank just didn't drink juice like a toddler turned lose with a juice box, it would be the only tank I would use. Ever.
