Thanks for the input and reccomendations, will search a better unit!! Vaped the Heron all day today and worked flawlessly, love the new switch, wish I had one more switch to use with my 650 tube and top cap.....come on vapourday!!

I just wanted to post, here, that I'm still loving my Heron. While similar to the Spheroid it improves on the design in many significant ways for me and I hope that many of those changes will find their way into the new Spheroid as well (waiting to buy a couple for my MS!).

The AFC is awesome. My preference is somewhere between airy and tight but it doesn't matter because I can change it up whenever I want to! I also like that when I tighten the Heron down, I don't have to worry about accidentally moving the AFC ring. Want for new Spheroid.

I was, at first, skeptical about the change from screw-down tubes to o-rings but I am really appreciating this as it makes refilling FAR easier. More importantly, I don't have to spin the wicks around in the tube when reinstalling - it doesn't unravel my fluff anymore and my wicks keep their shape a lot better. Want for new Spheroid.

Chamber lid ... awesome option and I, personally, prefer to keep it on. To each their own. This, combined, with a deeper juice well makes it less likely that I'll get juice in the base and gurgle on the occasional overfill. Want for new Spheroid (but I don't see this one happening without changing the form factor).

Hybrid connection. Again, awesome. It makes my V3/Heron rock solid. I don't have to worry about damaging my 510 during mishaps between the mod and atty. The only thing I have to worry about now, is not damaging the finish. =)

The updated, straight-through bell got rid of all my gurgling/spitting. I would have preffered a slightly smaller ID for the bell, but it's not a huge deal.

Essentially, this stopped my search for MY go to atty/mod. The Heron/V3 IS my go to setup. While I don't belong to any local vape groups or anything of that sort, I've shown it around quite a few times with a lot of "oohs" and "aahs" resulting. Even the cloud chasers even enjoy my "high" resistance build (1.4-1.5 Ohm mini coil) and appreciate the quality of the product. I enjoy letting friends try it and then pull out the second Heron (with GVC) for flavor changes.

Once I found a build that works it works without leaks, and without ANY fiddling whatsoever. I charge/change my batteries, I rewick every few days, and I refill. That's it. That's how it should be. (aside from the cleaning I do every other week).

My small one came from Lowe's, 25 bones. It is as accurate as my HHM for the small voltage / ohms we use.

I went to lowes today during the brutal storms but they did not have not unit in the store...carried another brand like south wire or something. Checked online and they are about 40.00. I will check around though. I just want a unit that gives the accurate ohms of a coil without subtracting this or that...just touch the screws and read!!

Like my Heron as well. The afc works for me but I have to fight it a bit as it is not free spinning. Wish I didn't have to adjust it with the cap off or the unit removed. Love how much liquid it holds.

It doesn't take much to adjust the AFC... just unscrew the heron from the mod a quarter turn, then the AFC ring will spin... tighten it back down done

Mine is tight enough that I sometimes have to pull it off and line it up/push it back on. Not a big issue just a very minor thing.

I unscrew mine a quarter turn, then use my thumbnail in the slot to move the AFC. It is tight, but doable.

I found that once I removed the ring and cleaned everything up before use, it spins much easier now. I do have to back it off to adjust, but I'm happy at 2 open. So it stays put now.

Hey Folks. Not sure if this is even a good idea (but it works for me) so please don't see this as advice or a tip until some of our resident pros chime in. Although i'm enjoying the flavor with the top cap removed i missed the support it was giving the cotton . I decided to use 20 guage kanthal to build these crutches to help support the cotton. It springs into place and rests on the shoulder where the top cap used to sit. At first i was weaving the cotton through the pig tails to get them in position and then clipped it to the base....but then realized that i could keep the crutch clipped to the base and just wind the cotton around the direction of the coil to get them centered. It's been about a two days, 3 refills and haven't yet needed to stop in between those fills to re-position the cotton.

Thanks VapinBill. I now officially prefer the Heron over the spheroid....but that's mainly based on form factor. As soon as i get my hands on the Piccolo v4 i'm sure that opinion will change

Dude that's a great idea. I was going to tear my crossed / stacked build out tonight anyways and go from 30g to 28 or 26 so I may give this a try. 26g should be thick enough to do it with.

My new favourite coil right now is parallel 26g where you wrap two wires together. This one is .38 and a great vape. Two second pulls gets you a ton of vapour and fantastic flavour (at least in the Quasar). I might see if I can squeeze a parallel 28 in to the Heron.

Thanks Chadsmo. My first go at it was with a paperclip which functionally worked, but figured it to be a shady material choice for vaping. Forgot to mention that i took the o-ring off the top cap and used the groove that it sat in as a jig to form around and guestimate the size.
