So rather than twisting them, you are wrapping them in tandem?

I could use some advice for my newish Heron. (I've been traveling and decided to leave it home where it'd be safe and sound, so haven't used it a great deal since its arrival.)
I've got a simple loop wick, 30g Kanthal, 5 wraps, around 1.7 ohms.
It's running hot and spitting: I don't feel the spit when I vape, but my tongue does afterwards. I lowered the coil a bit to see if that helps, but it really didn't. Using my Sophia instead right now.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
You have over wicking issues due to improper density of the filler or you have an old bell. Check please the interior, in the rare case we gave you a Heron with the previous bell. The thread was off topic for 3 pages and I missed your post, sorry.
Are you taking hard pulls? You might want to either take an easier pull or open up the AFC a bit. If the coil spits and you're sucking hard then there's a good chance the you'll suck it in your mouth.
That looks like the updated bell! Filler doesn't look too bad either. I do use a screwdriver to help evenly distribute the fluff if necessary. I also use the fluff cut to a similar length but I cut mine to 17mm x 65mm and find that it works well for my 50/50 liquid.
I'm using a ~1.4 ohm coil and it doesn't heat the atty up very quickly unless I'm chain vaping for awhile so you might want to look there.

Here are pics of my setup if it helps any...

Thanks. I also posted over at the main Paps thread, and folks suggested I rebuild my coil, which I'll do.
I've fooled with the AFC, so I'm doubting that's the issue. Our fluff setup seems similar, so I'm thinking that mine is a bit less uniform than yours, but not that far apart. thanks for your pics; once I get the basics mastered I'm gonna have to try cotton.
You have to ensure fluff is touching the inner walls, otherwise liquid will flood the chamber. You can take a look at the tips and tricks thread, there are a ton of tutorials for different builds.
The 510 for the Heron will just screw on/in to the bottom much like a Spheroid base , so all owners past and future will be able to purchase it.
No, my friend. It's a different connection, and it's not necessary for a proper function, it adds 6 mm length as well.
This question is probably answered somewhere in this thread, but hey, I don't have all day to look for it.My understanding is that there will be a 510 option for the Heron. I'm assuming that there will be a 510 kit of some kind that can be purchased and used for those that already have a Heron (i.e., remove the g-pin, insert 510 connector part, add a ring to the hybrid threads). Is that correct, or will it be a separate 510 Heron that's not compatible with the hybrid version?
Just curious, as I have a couple of Herons but want to sometimes use one on a 26650 mod that I have.
