Thought it pretty disingenuous to demonstrate how noisy the Heron is without trying it as the designer intended. Inferred that it was the Heron that is noisy rather than his use of it. I like Scott and Todd, egos smaller than a pinhead, but I agree with you yankeebobo that he should also have reviewed it being used as intended. It bugged me enough to leave a comment about it on his page when I watched his video yesterday lol - I might need to get out more!
It was one thing to dig thru the posts here to find that info out but with Scott's review everyone and their brother will be trying to run it that way. Honestly his wick didn't look like it filled the hole up enough to not leak.
I saw the post here and also talked to someone else before trying it. For me it's working great but I had no idea of the controversy around it. I almost feel bad for running it that way now
ETA: it just occurred to me, his complaint about the tank not being threaded and accidentally spilling juice wouldn't be an issue if fluff was used...yeah y'all knew that already

I've never tried a Spheroid or Heron, so I don't have an opinion on the matter.
Got my Spheroid up & running! AND I think I set it up right the first time!! I did 4/5 wraps of 30ga around 2mm Silica and used approx. 3/4 x 2 inches of fluff.....it seems to be vaping very nicely I must say!! I am vaping Suicide Bunny Mother's Milk out of it and the flavor is excellent!! I am definitely impressed by the Spheroid!!
Excuse the goofy looking drip tip....it's the first one I saw so that's what I'm using for the time being!! haha

I'm running with 2mm silica also, at around 1.3Ω. I have some Koh Gen Do cotton on the way that I'd like to try in there as well.

Don't feel bad Brother J, at all. New the scene and experimenting is great. It wasn't the doing it was the constant promoting. Especially when there were issues.
Remember Perseas and team developed and taught us how to use it. And in the same breath Chad was promoting it like he cured cancer. And, not only here but other ecf threads and fb. Some new members and owners never learned how to set it up as intended in the first place.
My very good friend Qorax and I were lucky to get them before release, much to set up as intended and help if needed. We both found ourselves beating our heads on the wall.

I started vaping cartomizers - first with KR808-D cigalikes and then pre-punched XLs for tanks. I was also into bridgeless 901 and 510 dripping atomizers which I still use for testing flavors. One of the reasons that I got in to rebuildables was to try to get that fabulous taste of a dripping atomizer which I thought was superior because it had no polyfill or other filler material. I'm strictly in to rebuildables now and I enjoy the clean taste and simplicity of a wick and a coil and it truly puzzles me that so many members of my family here are so into their fluff.
Your suggestion of a loaner flatters me. I would take wonderful care of it, and despite my reservations of moving backwards in my vaping evolution, I would be thankful and excited for the opportunity to play with it, as it's really nothing that I've considered. I would have to do some research and go to back to and look at many of the posts about fluff and fluff-related devices that I must admit, many of which I may have skimmed or simply skipped over. Two things that I do know just from being around here for a while are that Vapourart fluff is superior to using pet supplies as filler and that Scott's video shouldn't be the first one that I watch.
