Welp, speaking of X's, I just got my new one together with the new Heron... :D

...it is hitting beautifully! The only thing is I think I have to trim the fluff a tad bit. I don't have the top of the Heron setting flush on the tank and the base - to my satisfaction. Anyhoo, I think that air flow control is the perfect solution to the east vs west debate on draws. And the X certainlly seems to pass the "drunkin vapor test". haven't had a chance to fully test it, but it stands there, unlocked, without firing - super cool!

Love the look of the SS switch with the Lux tube....very nice indeed! :)

I'm so obsessed with this setup. I never ever thought I would like it as much as I do. I can't put the X down anymore. GP absolutely blew me away with this 18650 tube.

Edit: And if you have a shadow of a doubt about upgrading to the Lux GPin, stop. Get it.

Yep, I picked up an 18650 Lux tube for my X as well. I am normally an 18490 guy (AW 18490 is my favorite battery), but it's nice to be able to bust out the VTC5's and use them in the X......I can vape almost all day with a VTC5 and a 1.2 Ohm build in my Heron.. :)

I never tried 18490 mode until I got the v3 Paps. It's phenomenal. Perfect middle ground between the dinky 350 and huge 650. I have grown to use it more than any other. Still have yet to try it with the X though. AW is always the way to go. And, in 18490 batteries, you're getting more room in the amp draw dept which is an added bonus if you like it lower.

Exactly.....the 16 Amp limit of the AW 18490 gives you plenty of "breathing room" for most builds (within reasonable limits)....and the 18490 size of the V3's is perfect for me.....but it is nice to go up to 18650 with the X....My VTC's were collecting dust until I got the X!! lol... :)

Totally agree. I have my vtc4s I use when sub ohming. I usually use my "other" mods for that though. I stay tried and true to the GP AW statements.

Absolutely. I really don't subohm like I used to (sometimes I will, but not as often)...I went through a hardcore dripping phase where all I would do is subohm....but since getting my Herons, I am officially in love with fluff-based tank attys, like the heron, prometey, and spheroid....(which I typically run around 1-1.2 Ohm).....So I don't give my VTC's a workout like I used to... :)

I only recently got into dripping. I do love to sub ohm. I do. But I also love a good RTA and 1.5 ohm micros. That's my daily. I only drip when at home or chilling somewhere where it is more convenient. I kind of went backwards lol. Protanks, skipped cartos, then Kayfun. Then dripping. Now dripping or Heron/Kayfun.

What batteries do you all use on the X? I mostly use it in 490 mode and the AW IMR 18490's it it and they fit perfectly as well as the 18650. I popped in a AW 350 and found I got a big ole gap. ITs a real tight fit and I either have to leave a gap at the top or one of the other sections. Im thinking of getting a few of the purple Efest 350's since they are flat topped.

Use the shorter pin of the GPin for the 18350 mode. Check your pin, it must feel tight, don't worry, it is meant to be such.
