FWIW, since some people were talking about it...

I've been building my coils around a 2.4mm precision screwdriver so I can get the amount of wick I want (single loop) that will hold it's shape, not longer than it needs to be and have a fair amount of wick capacity (if that makes any sense - for bouts of chain vaping). then I tailor my coil gauge for the resistance I want at 6/7 wraps ... which ends up at 28 gauge coming in at 1.3 ohms.

I use the exact same setup in my Spheroids as well as my Herons. And it works well with both PnC/SnC and KGD (about 2-3mm wide -the pad was halved - rolled very slightly then bent, and pulled, to form a single loop) but I like the performance of KGD better even if I have to rewick more often than the cotton yarn.

KGD (sorry, this one is NOT pretty and it's been primed)

The only difference in builds between the Spheroid and Heron (aside from the obvious cotton topper in the Heron) is the fluff. I use 20mm X 40mm in the Spheroid and appx 17mm X 60mm in the Heron for 50/50 juice and about 5mm less (the long way) for 100% VG.

These are my all-day knock-around builds. I also have a dual coil (same coil as above) build for those few times that I want even more vapor production and don't care that I blow through my liquid.

edit: oh, and in the Heron build I also always have the loop positioned opposite of the AFC. I get optimal wicking while vaping this way... I vape with the AFC facing upwards to aid the juice flow in fluff and can vape it all the way down.

Hello all. Took a day or so off to catch up on some needed book reading. The vapemail pictures look fantastic. Always fun for me to see. The pride of getting GP vapemail is incredible. Keep em coming.
There were some nice things said, while I was out and know that I really appreciate it but, P deserves the props for bringing us together.

Vapemail today!
Thanks Idabrah! You truly rock. Fluff too even!
Awesome timing as my other piece of mail today was a very dirty and heavily patina'd 2.5 Lux :D
Put it on the cordless and it looks almost new :)

Gonna have to pick up a cheap drill this weekend and work on it some more. There's still a few spots that haven't come out yet but it looks fantastic so far :)

Its always a pleasure coming on to this thread. Great conversations on topic and off. I love how everyone shares their GP experiences through great posts , photos and just silly stuff too. Thanks all, and thanks Idaho for talking me into joining even before I actually got my X. I could go on and on with the "gushing" but......

Hey jrs that looks fantastic!! Yeah I just received my P + B tool today (along with an X Lux 18560 tube and a Lux Heron Pin) and am anxious to try it.

I actually had a quick question for you fellow P+B Experts: For re-brushing a mod and/or atty, what do you guys typically use? High-grit sandpaper? If so, how high? Excuse my cluelessness, I am new to refinishing using this tool!

I would like to give it a shot maybe tonight, but I just want to make sure I use the right stuff....thanks in advance! :)

I'm stoked! Picked up the little Lux for $106 shipped and it's a first run with low SN. As much as I love the X, the 18350 2.5 Lux is still my all time GP favorite. This one actually has the gold plated button :glare:
When I picked up the SS X I also grabbed the Lux 650 tube. It should be here Monday! :) Gonna be fun playin legos with my 2 X's :D
