Watchmaker's trick.
Take one of those magnetic knife racks and rig up a way to attach it to a broom handle. Kinda like a magnetic pushbroom.
When I was taking an online watchmaking course I had my workbench under the window in my basement office.
Apparently my daughter got locked out and I'd left the window unlocked. She knocked over a couple containers of very small watch parts while climbing thru the window. Concrete floor, spiderwebs, dust bunnies, etc...
Thank god for magnets :)

They're probably metric screws and they might be hard to find in a US hardware store. If Perseas can tell you the size you can probably find them online. I've ordered metric screws from the UK before, it just takes a little extra time for shipping.

I ordered a few extra parts like some springs, pins, whatever, but I never thought about those screws on the heron deck. Learn something new every day.

I remember the day that I got my GP Paps v2.1 delivered to my work and as I was walking down the back stairwell the button fell off. For the life of me I couldn’t find the spring in the darkly lit stairwell. After looking for about 10 minutes I had to run to a meeting. I couldn’t concentrate during the meeting as I kept worrying that someone was going to step on the spring and squash it. Afterwards I returned to the stairwell and spent another 10 minutes looking up and down, careful not to step on it myself. I was brushing my hands along the steps and the landings until I finally found it.

Later, I went to Home Depot and then my local Ace Hardware store to try to find replacement screws, nuts, and springs. I was not able to match any of them up (primarily because they were metric and the spring is custom). Needless to say, I subsequently bought a bunch of spares during my next Vapourart purchase (and I haven't needed them yet).

lol..I know exactly how you felt! Now, I completely understand the whole spare part thing! I was looking at the parts/bins/containers that other GP users on this thread have, and for the life of me, I couldn't figure out what the big deal was about spare parts. Noooowwww, that I that I have experience in one of those frightful moments, I completely understand what that little bit of insurance is all about....

So, I'm sitting up vaping on my heron and X yesterday evening. Decided I didnt like the build, wrapped up a coil, started taking the old one off the heron. I wrapped the leads of the old coil to the screws so close, I had to remove the screws completely. Put the screws back on, went to reach for something else (not paying attention to how I was holding the X) and a screw fell off the deck. Now, I have a building station setup in an area that has a concrete floor. In fact, the paint on the floor is some kind of speckled gray paint.

Needless to say, once that screw hit the floor, it was lost for a moment. Immediately, I freaked out. Even though the area is well lit, I couldn't find it. Grabbed a flash light and looked; still no luck. Grabbed a flood light and looked; still no luck. D*mn! Pulled up the vapourart homepage and started looking for a replacement screw; still no luck. Then, all of a sudden, the ZEN in me came out. Pulled the chair back a little bit from the table/work station, grabbed my v3, sat down and just vaped for a moment. Looked over slightly to the left behind me, and low and behold - the heron screw. With a sigh of relief, I slowly picked up the screw and laughed to myself. Finished the build and now, my heron/X is hitting just the way I like.

So that I don't have another episode like that, does anyone know if additional deck screws for the heron are available for purchase? Heck, if they're in a kit of some sort, I'll buy the kit or whatever. Maybe they are available and I over looked them in a moment of panic, but does anyone know if those screws are available for purchase?

Hello everyone, I hope today is a good one for all of you!

As far as the deck screws on the Heron. You will find the posts and screws are the same size as the Spheroid V3 upgrade kit and are interchangeable. The bottom nut that secures the positive post(next to serial #) that is accessed by GP fork is the same size as the Spheroid nuts that were in the old version.
Buying the upgrade v3 Spheroid Kit will serve as a spare parts kit for the Spheroid and Heron :).

Edit - I have many spares if someone needs a quick replacement and am happy to mail out. :)

all I see is a v2.5 and a v2 replacement kit on the site. So you're saying the screws from both should work for the heron? Cool, I'll order that kit simply for a piece of mind! Who cares if i ever need it

They are not available in any kit but I believe they are a standard size that you should be able to find at a hardware store. Perseas will have to confirm the actual screw type though.

They are SS Philips screws, M2x3 mm length and the posts are M2 for the positive post and M3 for the negative post of Heron v1.5 and Spheroid v3.
Spheroid v2 uses M2x3 mm length SS Philips screws and both the posts are M2.

The screws work for both, but not the posts.

https://domovaporco.com/product/gp-spheroid-replacement-kit-v3/

AND THEY ARE IN STOCK. THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED (sorry for the capitals )

Don't buy them for the posts, they are not compatible with Heron or Spheroid v3, only with Spheroid v2. He forgot to update the product's description, which is http://www.vapourart.com/en/product/gp-spheroid-replacement-kit-version-25

A GP Spheroid replacement kit v3 is coming soon.

I think this information would be some good to be on the tips and tricks thread! I dunno about you guys but losing screws is a regular occurrence for me. Thankfully ... I haven't lost the ones in the Heron, yet. =P

I work on my stuff over top of a mechanic's magnetic tray. Otherwise, I would always be without screws. :)

On a funny note... After I gained use of my left side(stroke), on occasion my left arm spasms. When it does, whatever is in my left hand flies across the room. I try to not have anything 'important' in my left hand. But... So many times, my cats have given me a look of "Mom? Did you throw that at me?". :)

At least yours give you questioning looks. Mine stare with accusation!

I can't vape with my right hand nor from the right side of my mouth. It just feels ... weird.

Sheez! This truly is the asylum. We've got people with no clothes with loose screws. People throwing things at their cats. And some people have lost their screws altogether. Then we've got some with too much fluff. Good thing there's plenty of advise to get this all straightened out.

I don't know about Yankee's visions of strippers though. That's gonna take some serious work.

I almost forgot, we have people walking around in the middle of the night making animal sounds while they vape on their Heron!

God I love this place.

Home sweat home.
