Just pulled 3 random tops out of the bag. First thing that caught my eye in your photo was the pin knurlings.

Hey Fam, was wondering if you all can help me out. My friend is trying to confirm if this lux 2.5 is authentic and since I don't have any experience with the 2.5s wondering if you all can help. The the only thing that tells me it's a clone is because he says the switch is reverse threaded which I believe the 2.5s were not. It's a 18650 so there is no serial. Here are some pics.

As always, I could be wrong, but the insulator on the cap should be PEEK, the knurling on the adjustment screws aren't angled on my v2.5 switches, also on my AB tube there is a very slight separation between the middle/center section of the G and the P. On both of my v2.5 switches the lock is not reverse threaded.

    GP Family,
    Here we go again...

I just tried some Pima Cotton Silver yesterday:

    Premium Cotton Wick

Wicks extremely well, and easy to use. Have anyone here tried it?

I'm glad to see this come up! Did you find the wick imparted any flavour on your juice?

I bought 4oz of this 6-8 weeks ago as I had heard phenomenal things about it. I used it once and almost cried at the taste from it - not a cotton taste, but something absolutely foul. Since then, I have read only wonderful things again.

It raised the question in my mind that maybe I did something wrong, but I can not see how as it is just a wick. I desperately want to try again and want it to be what everyone says it is, but that taste I got; it still makes me shudder.

Any suggestions? Or maybe it just needed to be vaped a bit more to break in?

There is no doubt that is an impostor. From the insulator size, switch characteristics(from size to aesthetics), tube finish, tele posts to the top cap. Gross.

Haha, Thanks Idabro. I figured it was too but definitely wanted more opinions from the vets that have more face time with the 2.5s.

My apologies though to P I know we are not supposed to mention such subject but thought I needed to ask to make sure my friend didn't get ripped off. Maybe I should've PM'd or emailed but wasn't sure if I were to get a response due to the vacation.

I think it was justified as there were no links and it was used positively to avoid misrepresentation. Not to mention there were no insects harmed within your post :).

As a reminder, I am happy to vent my home with a shotgun loaded with lead #8 for the reduction of flys that enter my peaceful home. With that, I would offer another insect that gives me much pleasure to personally eradicate from my personal space.

Hi guys and gals, I hope you are all in a fantastic mood!

I was replying on Facebook about the counterfeit that was mentioned here. So, I will paste the "official" response for those who don't use FB.

According to our ToS, the first owner has to send an email to info@vapourart.com to confirm the ownership transference. If the locking ring is reverse threaded, it is definitely a counterfeit and the tube is from brass not from aluminium bronze which develops a slow and very different kind of uniform patina. Our top cap insulators are from PEEK type II reinforced with glass fibres and they have a light shade of grey colour, not white colour like this one. The knurling of the telescopic post is pretty rough as well. We use 316 EU certified SS which means that is nominally austenitic (with high percentage of Nickel, allowing us to create smooth and sliding threading with extreme low tolerance), so it cannot be pulled by a magnet.

There is a difference between a clone and a counterfeit. Both are replicas, but the latter has trademark logos as well, so the differences are more subtle, but more damaging for the market. Clones are a cheap alternative solution, perfectly acceptable for a low budget purchase, it cover needs, but the counterfeits are the drugs of the commerce. It is time to tell the things with their real names. I have posted many times on ECF, VW, UKVapers, VapePit forums that the clones are a necessity caused by the limited production, but the counterfeits are brand piracy. A few people know how strictly censored are the forums of craptech. Some words and phrases are deleted and they are forbidden, like the words counterfeit, brand piracy etc.

I have not experienced a foul taste. I use a very small amount as a wick in my Herons. it wicks fine and the taste is on point.

You need one of these Idaho, it's Da Bomb for flies. I got my Bug-A-Salt on the preorder when they first came out... waited months for it. Now you can buy them anywhere for $30 or less, even from Amazon. They have a grey/black model now for you collectors. ;) Uses table salt that doesn't make a mess of bugs or damage your household. Holds about 50 shots of salt. So a simple pump, auto safety off and shoot as fast as needed for when they attack you in force. Will take out flies from about 3' away easy enough... further if you become a sharp shooter with it. Takes out most other household bugs as well, spiders, crickets, roaches if you get a head-on shot close enough, etc. Note: It just pisses off solicitors and thumpers that come knocking though, but they get the idea.

Truth be told, everyone has said exactly what you have said.

I really need to give it another go - it just terrifies me to think of getting that taste again as I have no idea what caused it. I will be brave and give it ago before this week is over...

I also got some of that Pima Cotton Silver, I had heard that it did not need to be washed, some said it did or it had a taste. I decided to try it unwashed and it had a bad taste. I gave it away to some that were curious and never heard their views.

I did keep some as it will make nice "wigs" for some of the odd dolls I collect for photographic purposes. Of all the materials Ive used the 2 I would highly recommend are still KGD or Ekowool.

    Hello my GP Family! :)

I hope everyone is having a great day!

I received a shipping notice for the ohm meters I ordered from usaohmmeters. I hope I like them! I still haven't taken the time, to verify the readings on the expensive one I purchased from vaperev. But, I am pretty sure it is wrong.

Another wicking material? Please say it isn't so! :)

I had an ultrasound today. The gel wasn't warmed! What's up with that?!

Perseas: Hello my friend. I hope you are enjoying your Holiday. Sending a smile your way! :)

Cucco hope whatever you were getting an ultrasound for worked out well..and what's up with the cold gel:confused: I've been such a busy little beaver and a couple more weeks of craziness but am thrilled to announce I'm a grandma again.....Alivia was born yesterday at 12:38pm 8 lbs 5 oz 20" long and joins her brother Jackson 10 and sister Ella 3 (not real sure about this whole thing yet). Hubby and I grabbed my mom and went for a visit last night. I'm exhausted but sure enjoyed holding the new little bundle.

On the new wicking material...I'm not going to try it, a good friend sent me some of the rayon and I haven't even had a chance to sit down and give it a test drive yet. It's sad...I have no time to take care of my mods/attys these days but a couple more weeks and I'll get there.
