Oh man! If it wasn't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all! Maybe can try to cancle my order, drat!

I would if you want VV. I hate it when they name stuff that is totally different the same name. It just creates uneeded confusion. There is plenty of that with different types of pv's without giving them the same name.

See if they have a phone number to call. If it's a repuatable place, they should have a 30 day MBG like Cool said, but if you can keep them from shipping it and just refund your money, that would be even better. I'm with Tx, I hate that one has the same name, many others have been confused by this as well. When I saw the price you mentioned, I had a feeling you had gotten that one. Hope they will fix it for you.

Kinda like how eGo started out as a specific product, but quickly became a category? It was originally designed to be a big batt 510 hybrid that could use it's own cartos. or 510. It didn't stay that way for long though :)

The picture would verify the chart in post #44 with Vrms taken into account for the output wattage. Post #43 has become moot with the exception of showing at what point the voltage starts to flatten out in the higher settings.

Calculating the Vrms is fairly easy for the Gripper.

Vrms = SQRT(V[out] / 6) * 6

...So I've been looking at the Gripper! From what I've read the lowest setting on the Gripper is not really 3.0 but more like 4.2!!! Now that's great for those of you that like higher voltages & that "burny" taste ... And I know I'm probably in the minority ... But I'm a low voltage vaper! I'm thinking the Gripper wouldn't work for me, right? Unless of course I go to a MUCH higher ohm clearo/carto! Need your opinions .... Thanks! :)
I start at around 3.0 volts in the morning and finish at around 3.6 volts at night. Maybe the Vivi doesn't wick fast enough. I only have 30% VG compared to your 70% too, doesn't help. I tried 2.4 ohms on my Gripper, I don't like it, not hot enough.

2423kids I don't think we're in the minority. It's just a case of finding a way to make it work. I love my Gripper more each day, I think I made the right choice, of course when it decides to breakdown on me I'll be disappointed but it can be fixed and rehoused, opens itself to many possibilities.

I've been lazy with rebuilding /rewicking coils, (Thanks Ralikar for deleting the Super Easy Lazy Vivi Wick Change Part 2. before leaving us!) I found a solution using MikeE3's idea of placing a 'pillow' of cotton (roll/baton) over the wick/coil of my Stock VN 1.8 & 2.4 Ω Hds. (http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ems/295410-vivi-nova-rebuild-tutorial-19.html )This has made for a much smoother warm vape, and the burning /harsh throat hit I was experiencing has Gone! Now I can vape up to 3.5-3.8V happily although any higher is a little too much for my liking.

meli. - I can certianly see the advangage of the cotton pillow. It seems that would eliminate the possibility of a dry burn and not having to re-coil the wick. If I'm mistaken, please let me know. Thank you.

Is it just me or does this sound like we are going backwards to the days when all we had were attys and cartridges, trying to figure out the best filler to put in the mouthpieces? lol The great thing about the invention of the cartomizer, was that it held liquid without having to worry about experimenting with the filler :)

I got one, know about the Vavg limitation, works fine with 2.2ohm carto and 3.0 setting :)

My gripper, however, came with a wobbly 510 connector. Any quick fix for it?

Thanks in advance!

Edit: Screen really is a pleasure to see. I like OLED, I guess. Makes me wish it had better built quality. Offtopic, anyone else excited by the DNA20 chip coming out? :D

That is good info to know. I think us newbies to the removable battery mods are just worried about buying the wrong parts, as we don't have any from previous mods to test them with. Since most of the batteries for sale on vendors websites don't provide a lot of info on the battery itself other than the model, it makes me personally a bit leery.

I bought batteries from RTD vapor. Randy was super helpful, he even photographed batts I was interested in, side by side, so I could see the size differences. You want vendor who can help you make an informed decision. JMHO

I've found a cotton 'topper' on a stock wick or re-build wick not only increases vapor production it 'extends' the life of the wick. The 'gunk' seems to collect in the cotton and not build up on the coil. That said it increases the life of the coil and/or the time between dry burns, but doesn't necessarily eliminate the need for cleaning/dry-burns.

A baby bunny ball works well too, Post#6876 - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/general-e-smoking-discussion/298835-older-folks-vaping-688.html#post7491474

For me a stock VN head works pretty good. Adding a cotton topper or re-building the head with Kanthal, etc is optiona,l in my opinion, for those that like to tinker.

Actually, I've already given up on my Gripper. I might consider another when they become cheaper, though probably not. I may still try to rewire the guts of mine into another box. Not sure if I posted this here or not, but here's why I've given up on it:

I just sent mine back today, inaccurate readings, bad connector, won't work at low ohms. The only good thing about this box is the price and ability to use one 18650 batt.If you look up" cheap piece of junk" in the wiki there's a picture of it.I much prefer the vari-cool vv box.I get about the same run time,it's about the same price, all my RBA"s work perfectly on it and the connector is solid. It's only drawback is it"s also a cheap plastic box.
