I must admit I don't know the advantages of a microcoil over a standard coil. All the videos of the Kayfuns showed microcoils, so I just assumed I'd build a microcoil.

Well, microcoils are easier to make in my estimation. And they're solidly built so you can remove/replace wicks easily without damaging the coil. They also don't have hot spots. They just perform better overall. But that doesn't mean a standard Vivi style coil doesn't work and if that's what you are used to then go with it. You can take your time to learn the microcoil as an option. You can also use your 32 ga. (a microcoil really needs to be 30ga or thicker as 32 ga is just too flimsy for most folks). svoemesto (the inventor of the kayfun) still shows a standard Vivi style coil as the standard coiling method in his videos. While there is merit to all the differing coiling methods, some of it goes a bit overboard too.

Off Work until Thursday Afternoon... or Later ! There goes two more Vacation Days.
Need to examine the Ol' Kerosene Heater. Probably close to twenty yeas old, wick is newer but hardly used. Kerosene on hand is probably close to ten years old, so I might need a couple fresh gallons. If the power goes out, we loose everything....

We're on lockdown in Raleigh-Durham too Pop. I'm guessing we're done for the week here. Please be careful with that kerosene heater. Just had someone we know burn their house down clean to the ground from a kerosene heater. That was on New Year's day. The mom just got out of the hospital, her husband is still in a coma and will be in the hospital for at least 10 months. Had the kids been home, they probably would have died. Everything was lost. Everything! Personal property, dogs, cats, fish...everything! Be careful with that thing. Make sure your smoke alarms are functioning.

Wait what! I feel like we've have this conversation before, but I'm in durham!

Now that I think about it, we DID have this conversation before.

We are expecting 2 to 6 inches of snow with half inch of ice.

Here, in February. And I thought we were in the south. Damned miami folks hogging all the sun for themselves.

All these people who fiddle with their setups are probably high VG as well. I'm at 70/30 and experience no wicking issues and no need to do anything but a standard microcoil. It appears those with high VG need to find ways to increase wicking. But then, that has been true with many devices.

Well, you are vaping at 6.5 watts, which is your preferred taste. I should hope any wick and coil can keep up.

As far as I can tell, this discussion started because the Maestro's ham-handed, amateur-night wicks won't permit his coils to go higher than a paltry 9 watts or so. It's no real surprise, and I think it is likely Dusty's bungling is to blame, more so than the ratio of his juice.

I use some 70/30 and some 50/50 juice too. I haven't noticed a huge difference, but I will pay closer attention now that you say this...you could be right. I mean, PG is thinner than VG.

Forgive me, but my home does not normally look this way...

Sorry, but I don't even know what a PhotoBucket is. You'll have to 'click' on picture to see what I mean...

Late to the party.... but I run micros with 28g in the mid 1's... usually around 11w in my KFC and RDAs...

Micros are awesome... once i dial in the resistance, they are set and forget. The coil in my KFC is the same one that I put in when I got it nearly two months ago... and in my RDAs, the youngest coil is 3 months old. I am sure that, eventually, they'll degrade and start to crack... but I haven't had a popped microcoil yet, and the resistance (which is a really good means to determine your coil's health) has only increased by .1 ohm since I mounted it.

I can't see myself making an old-style coil again... it just doesn't make any sense to be honest. More surface area = more vapor... and the thick wire paired with the tight coil makes these things damn near indestructible. I messed one up pulling a wick... completely stretched it out into a long squiggly wire. Before I tossed it, I just pinched it back together with a pair of needlenose, dry fired it... pinch... and it was as good as new. That REALLY sold me on micros.

Trust me, General, that thing is for Emergency Use ONLY !!! As long as the power stays on, it will be GasPak Central Heat with Ceramic Heaters on while we are awake. Just getting ready for that 4-6 inches of wet snow/ ice coming tomorrow...

I beg your pardon?! Ham-handed, amateur night wicks?!! You've obviously bumped your head or lost what little was left of your mind with that heavy work load of yours. My wicks and coils are flawless! :p

This discussion started because I wanted the gun discussion to end. I couldn't contribute to that discussion. That, and I was curious what others were vaping Huntsman at..

Mission accomplished! :)

Does anyone know Hula's preferred settings for ohms/volts?!

Hi everyone! My last batch of Huntsman came in really dark. I let it steep for three weeks and broke it out yesterday. It doesn't taste like Huntsman. It kinda tastes like chocolate cupcakes. I thought it might have been a fluke, but I got a new batch in yesterday and it looks even darker than the last one! Anybody else have the same experience? I'm really hoping that the beloved Huntsman is not gone forever...

Hi Jerzig, Wow, that doesn't sound right at all. I have a two batches of Huntsman that are 9 and 11 months old and neither are yet more than a light orange color and are a far cry from smelling like chocolate. Others who've bought Huntsman more recently have noted that they're getting more maple smell and flavor than they used to, but still not the dark colouring.

Sounds like it's possible you got a mix up on your order. Does the second bottle smell and taste like the first?
Hard to believe you got the wrong blend twice in a row - not that it's impossible, it's just that the odds are against it happening.

Since we're not affiliated with the HHV, there's little we can do aside from giving advice. What you could do is to contact HHV directly, either through their website, phone or the following link to the vender thread on ECF. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...venly-vapes-top-quality-custom-e-liquids.html

Adam & Heather are real good about making good on mistakes like this - it happens and they are aware of the human error factor in their processing - especially with the volume of orders they get now. Adam's advice has been to send the suspect juice back for testing and if found to be faulty he will replace it for you.

Hope you can get this worked out so you can enjoy Huntsman your again. :)

The LAST thing I would call Huntsman is chocolate cupcakes.... If I was a betting man, I would say that this sounds more like Heavenly Tobacco.... or something similar to that.

Huntsman is an earthy/maple flavor... No vanilla, no chocolate.. I JUST got a new bottle in a week or so ago, and yep... maple/woodsy... with a light burnt orange color.

If its dark and chocolate, that ain't Huntsman.

Either way is fine Pappy. All the videos and photos on SvoeMesto's site and user manual show standard coils. Less fiddling perhaps. ;)

Standard coil vs microcoil.
Micros tend to give a hair more flavor due to the fact that there is more surface area on the coil where it contacts your wicking material. When you're running at 5 watts, its really not all that noticable.

Plus the fact the the heat is concentrated directly over the air intake hole.

Whoa! Chocolate cupcakes?! Heck no! That's not Huntsman. Maybe send it back to Adam and have them check it?
The older Huntsman batches used to get very dark - BUT - it was very dry with a heavy cigar-ish quality to it and certainly not chocolate cupcakes!
