One o' my buddies teaching here just turned me onto this site today as we were refreshing ourselves after work. CraigTube Have you ever seen it?
No I hadn't seen it Chak , that guy is making what I call a kit beer , all the mashing is done for you and reduced to a thick syrup that you add to water , I did one of those and decided it wasn't good enough for me so I use the ancient method of using grain , water , yeast and hops , much more complicated , a lot more work but totally worth it .

As a plumber, I can tell you honestly... There are more carcinogenic chemicals in the city water here than what was in my old Newports.. My water analysis reports for Hillsborough and Pinellas counties are flat out scary.

Flouride, chlorimine, ammonia, haloacetic acid, trihalomethanes (byproducts of chlorine/chloramine disinfection), fertilizer run-off, mercury, lead, bacterial spores, along with MILLIONS of trace chemicals and biological compounds.

The last thing to worry about is a tiny bit of seizure causing flouride...

This is partially the reason we invested in a whole home water treatment system and a reverse osmosis system for the drinking water.. Too much junk in the water..

I hope you have a PH balancing system for the RO, unless you like acidic water. Test the PH, you may get ticked over the results. Snake oil...

We got an even 4" of snow here in a matter of a couple of hours. I mean it was awesome! Our internet modem crapped out though...and our power kept going out and stayed out overnight for a bit but I had our fireplace going keeping us warm. Most of the snow has already melted though and we drove to the AT&T store and spent $110 on a new modem. It's always something around here! Glad to see everyone was safe during the snow storm. I'll post pics later...but I gotta go get horizontal for a little while. It's been busy around here.

New Orleans has the BEST water filtration system in the world!!!! No other place can beat our system. We get our water from the septic tank of the nation and it has lower concentrations allowed by the "City" to be drinkable... Im starting to wonder what specs the city got the minimums from???

The EPA is what determines the maximum acceptable levels. Check and see how much your local municipality has paid in EPA fines.

At the end of the day, the only truly acceptable treatment for drinking/household water is Ultra-Filtration and UV disinfection.
No alteration of PH (reverse osmosis).

Or maybe we just go back to the old days when they made ale because the water was so bad, and drink that instead…

    :D

I've been dealing with "water treatment" systems for almost 20 years.. I've seen literally 200+ different setups that use everything from simple carbon filtration, distillation, UV treatment, and (my opinion) worst of all RO. There is a reason why RO systems CANNOT have copper piping after the system.. Without PH balancing, it is acidic, and will erode the piping. Those who have gastrointestinal issues, or hiatal hernia (me..), will suffer from heartburn and reflux just by drinking it. I absolutely despise the so-called water treatment companies that sell these systems without properly informing their customers of possible side effects. Culligan is one of the WORST. Selling water softeners and not mentioning that without changing the water heater anode rod, you'll have smelly hot water. Then, when the customer puts 2&2 together, they still can't takecare of the problem. If you want your water taken care of, call the plumber, not the saleman who doesn't know crap about plumbing. Sorry, rant over...

I don't even try. (To win at least) I'd say I have Irish ancestors, and it would be the truth. But the real truth is I have ancestors from just about the whole of Western Europe. We have one line that can be traced exclusively to one nation. My paternal grandfather was 100% Italian - All of his ancestors from what we've found so far hailed from the Abruzzo region. My paternal grandmother was more diverse: Irish, English (both southern and northern), Welsh, Scottish, and.. Swedish? (odd one to throw in there) Maternal grandfather was mostly German. But as we dug into it, we found ancestors from Austria, Belgium, Norway and Denmark. (the latter 2 going a long way back. I couldn't believe they could track it back that far) My maternal Grandmother was Irish, German, Scottish, and one lone ancestor from Switzerland. Pretty much all I'm missing is France, Portugal, Spain and the rest of the "Nordic" countries. LOL My sister plans on doing that DNA study some day. That'll be interesting.
I didn't know it was a drinking contest , it was a normal night for me at the time , I got on my motorcycle and went to the store for something to eat before I went home again just my usual routine .

whats your input on the "new" ionic systems that can change the ions from + to - and reverse it ( acidic to base) etc?? I have a repeat customer that has one of these items and she swears by it...
