Power went out about 3AM. Came back on about 11AM. Retrieved the Jeep at the bottom of Buck Wallow as the ice turned to slush. Just enough grip to get the Jeep home. It's gonna freeze up tonight and it will be impossible when it turns to rock by morning. Got about 4" of snow and an ice crust on top. Hunkering down here for the next few days. Wont be able to go anywhere. Lots of shoveling to do. Just glad our power came back. I was expecting it to be out for a week.

My problems are put in perspective when I read about Ray.

Jazzy, good to see you. :)

and Floride in the water.... who are you kidding.... Ill bet the dentists were happy about that... loss of business due to good teeth for EVERYONE !! ;)

not sure about that one since my dentist was booked for months and months and my teeth had not noticed the benefit years ago....

...so these days I tend to drink bottled spring water most of the time because fluoride isn't the only thing I'm tasting in the tap water! blech

Bronze glad the power is back on and the vehicle home..I'm sure your wife is happy that is taken care of. Sit back and relax and hopefully the power will stay on. We are actually starting to warm up...hubby keeps teasing me that I leave and the warm up comes...yet I'll still take 85-90 over 40's anyday.

Bridget or April, do you know anything about Ativan?
I just had a very interesting visit with our landlord and a couple of stories about his stay at the same hospital where I went to the ER.

Seems as though my memory loss is not an uncommon occurrence at this place.....
It's a benzo (antianxiety). It's a class C which mean it's not safe during pregnancy so I don't give it often, but it would snow you pretty well if you aren't used to taking them, so a memory lapse makes sense.

Ok sorry troupes. COPD kicked in to over drive. Drolling and still have to feed the old hen. Man I don't know what I did to deserve this.
I was a good boy all day.
As for beer. It reminded me of my dad.
Bought some saint Pauline's girl beer from Germany. Dad let it sit till it got to room temp. Took one taste and said. " now that's what beer should tast like. Not that p water you drink".
RIP DAD. !!!!!

And that reminds me I've seen Saint Pauline's Girl over here once in a while. Good stuff, Maynard!

Kick COPD back! ;)

A man has to know his strengths and limitations.

I can hunt, and I have done so and feasted on the kill, but I like buying my meat from a butcher, too.

:) I have a few hunting buddies and have tried all manners of game... venison, moose, you name it. To be honest, while they were all pretty good, nothing compares to a good ol' slab o' American grade A beef. :) Hunting for that wouldn't be much of a challenge though... well, that is until the rancher saw me and came at me with a shotgun.

Yeah..... this winter, front to back, has really sucked.... even by New England standards. We're already over our average snowfall amount, even before this current storm that's going to drop a bit over a foot... and when it isn't snowing, it's been like 20 degrees below normal.

Man, can still remember when winter rocked.... Back when I was a kid, big storms meant some awesome sledding at a nearby hill... where I grew up, I had THE BEST hill to sled on... the 'course' was several hundred feet long, with a steep part to start that lead to a long, meandering broad section... It had everything, jumps, quick shoots through tree lines... you name it, it had it. It's gone now, a construction company bought a parcel of land and put in a yard right in the middle of the bottom section... Man, that thing ruled.

But seeing as I those days are long since past, now snow is just something that I have to pile up and out of the way so I can get to work.

So does making you're own once you've got the equipment , kinda like vaping in a way after you catch up with startup costs , I should said if you catch up , after you get setup all you need to buy is malted barley , yeast , and hops , cost under 20 bucks to brew 5 & 1/2 gallons , Vaping has too many toys for me to catch up with , brewing excellent beer is cheaper .

One o' my buddies teaching here just turned me onto this site today as we were refreshing ourselves after work. CraigTube

Have you ever seen it?

I used to live in PA and growing up we had a wonderful steep street that we sledded on! Bringing back really old memories! sigh:)

Hello army. Just got back from dragging my car outta the snow. Last night was pretty bad, and I'm certain we got way more than the forecasted 6inches of snow; I almost couldn't spot my car for abit.

Anyway dragged it out with my friend's ford f250, proceeded to tailspin twice en route home, BUT

guess who's home with BAGS of hot chocolate, marshmallow, OJ and champagne.

It's gonna be a lazy lazy day

I was into flying RC airplanes for a while...there was this awesome place out of New Orleans ( LaPlace) that had a wide open field... great for flying... someone bought it and filled it full of houses. Ruined a great place for flying just for houses... what a waste... ;) and just to think... during Issac ( hurricane) all those houses flooded 3' deep...

As a plumber, I can tell you honestly... There are more carcinogenic chemicals in the city water here than what was in my old Newports.. My water analysis reports for Hillsborough and Pinellas counties are flat out scary.

Flouride, chlorimine, ammonia, haloacetic acid, trihalomethanes (byproducts of chlorine/chloramine disinfection), fertilizer run-off, mercury, lead, bacterial spores, along with MILLIONS of trace chemicals and biological compounds.

The last thing to worry about is a tiny bit of seizure causing flouride...

New Orleans has the BEST water filtration system in the world!!!! No other place can beat our system. We get our water from the septic tank of the nation and it has lower concentrations allowed by the "City" to be drinkable... Im starting to wonder what specs the city got the minimums from???
