many years ago, my dad almost married the woman next door... if that happened, my girlfriend would have been my "sister" ( the woman next door had a daughter I was dating)

At least you never married your "sister"... that really would have weirded out your perfect children (I think you would have been a fine parent!)

And that's rather what we all think. The dates of her pregnancy weren't close enough to the last time my son had visited for her to try and play it off as my sons at the time.. which I honestly think she would have done if she could. Especially seeing as how she asked my son to marry her anyway and take the baby as his own at that time even though it wasn't his, according to her and according to how far along she said she was back then.

So, fingers crossed as to this not being his... but they would have to know my son would ask for a dna test... one would think, only an idiot would think otherwise. And that is what is worrying to me, and leaves me with the question. .
He can ask her permission to go get a dna test at his expense - which he has done as of yesterday.

Whether they provide the child for the testing I'm sure is up in the air, he has to call around and find out where to get the testing at and coordinate appointments for it still.

However, if they refuse to provide the girl for dna testing, then he would have to hire a lawyer and get an injunction preventing her from leaving state until DNA testing can be done, and let a court order the DNA test. (Shes moving to another state within the month)

So yeah, he has some recourse for finding out, but it will definitely be costly if courts and lawyers get involved - and will have to be done quickly before she leaves Ohio.
Pretty sure DNA testing takes 6 weeks to come back.....If they refuse to let the youngster be tested then ignore them.

To Opine's almost-daughter-in-law and Robin's daughter: Good men are rare to find. When you find one you had better hang on, not let go, and treat them well. This applies to the men too.

The lesson in all this? Don't be an idiot! :)
Agreed!!!!

Good morning.

The night before chemo, I sleep like crap. The night before I get the pump off, I sleep like crap. You would think it wouldn't phase me after all this time.

We got more decor up last night. I think this weekend we will be putting up outdoor lights. Gotta love Florida weather. No freezing while doing outside decor. LOLOL

Retic, how are you doing now? I haven't forgotten about you. I hope you are getting better. Maybe BK can run over there and bring you something from a local store. He is always running the roads with his job. I don't know how he can do all that with very little sleep. You can't cook your own food right now, so I hope your wife can cook! Tasty food is good for the soul, but then you already know that!
It's slow going right now , I sleep alot ,watch alot of tv . Wife doesn't cook so I'm on the David diet , had hot pockets last night .:)

Good Morning Army. Watch Keeping Up with the Joneses last night. The first half is very dull, boring and petty. The second half rocks. I wonder how many people gave up on the movie before the better part...
Slept for what seems like forever. Lie still for so long my shoulders woke me in pain. Damn Arthritis, if I had known getting older would be like this, I might have taken better care of myself. But when I was young I couldn't have cared less about getting older. Although that cavalier and adventurous attitude did lead me to the US Navy, Europe and the Caribbean. Never would have made it there on my salary. So I guess it is what it is.
More Christmas Preps this weekend, interrupted by Lions and Ravens around 1pm tomorrow. I believe BK and the General will be tuned in around 4:25, when the Panthers visit the Saints. For First Place.
OP, she is trash. Tell your son so.

Have a Safe and Blessed Day :)

Pappy, Here is the post Scot made, concerning Gary.

OK ... Im gonna break some morality issues here but (Retic would have preferred that I stay silent on this..thats the way he is)... Im gonna mention it any way.... Retic needs prayers and thoughts at the moment... he was admitted into the hospital for an issue concerning his health.. he seems to have a situation that is dealing with his spinal cord not regeneration the fluid that is required to keep him healthy... there is some issues of him loosing volintary muscle control and causing severe pain and potential permenent paralysis.. he has been scheduled for surgery as of this morning... havent heard from him or his spouse since this morning... hopefully things went well... I plan on visiting him in the morning ( sunday) .... I have been friends with Retic for over 30 yrs...but as far as things go, I felt that yall needed to know.... even tho he dislikes his personal life "exposed".... he does have a strong religious background.. so Im hoping that the strength of prayer will help him through this.... I wish him the best and hope what yall can offer will help him to recover......... Im still at a loss or words on my end... Im still trying to "consume" this... I will do what I can to keep yall updated.... thank you....

Well that sucks. Gary, you need to take care of yourself and heal up. I will send some prayers your way.

Heck, I was down in the Big Easy last week. I could have brought you some beignets!
Thanks Pappy . I had degenerative arthritis in my spine , the bones grew inward and compressed my spinal cord causing all kinds of problems , I was becoming paralyzed . They removed 3 segments of my spine and replaced them with steel to remove the pressure . I don't heal as quickly as I used to unfortunately . Beignets and coffee are always welcome though !:)

Hot Pockets? You are a chef. I imagine that is going over like a ton of bricks. Do you have a buddy from the food business that can fix you up till you get on your feet? (at least part time) Your wife might not be a cook, but she can do either pick up or delivery. I suspected she may not be a cook. It seems like there is only room in the house for ONE chef...LOL. I understand. I'm not into cooking these days. My aunt however would fix you up, if you lived near her. Unfortunately she lives in Big D. She isn't a chef, but she makes the kind of food that would cheer you up. Plus, cooking is a hobby for her.
I would say for you to give your wife some pointers and training, but that might be a disaster. Things could go badly in a very short time. I eat cheap food these days. I never even go to the meat department at the grocery store. The price is just staggering. If I lived near you though, I would cook you some meals. It won't be up to your standards for sure, but it beats McDonald's!!!

Ewwww. I hate hot pockets. There's some sort of aftertaste that runs through the entire product line regardless of what's supposedly in them. I can say that though about most frozen food. I would say that Marie Callender is perhaps the best of a bad lot, and they're often on sale.
