My birthday is a week before Christmas. (18th) I spent a lot of time in my life listening to extremely loud rock, and blues/rock. I used to go to clubs a lot from 18-30 years old, with very loud music too. I did work around loud machinery with hearing protection. (in my 30's) In my early to mid twenties I used to shoot skeet with a 12 gauge, with no hearing protection. I didn't know anything about hearing protection then, I don't think anyone wore it or eye protection either. I will need one of those granny horns one of these days. Hopefully that will be a long time from now.

I got a mighty big surprise in the mail from a certain fellow Reonaut on here. It was two bottles of 12mg and in my favorite flavors too. My jaw hit the floor when I saw what it was. I am still in shock actually. So I am considering one for my birthday, and the other for Christmas. :) Yes, I hit the big 5 8, which is better than the big 60, but it will be here before ya know it too. My mom gave me some money for my birthday, and I got a hair cut with that money yesterday. So as I'm checking out the girl asked me if I was 60 yet, and I said no, why? She said well we have a discount once you hit 60. I said well I'm not far from it. That stung a little. Funny thing is I thought she asked if I was 16 initially. I said what? I said is that a joke? That is when she said 60 again. So my hearing is going too, great. You gotta laugh, that's all I can really say. Can anyone here relate?
Happy Birthday KK. There are a few of us the same age. :)

Wha'd he say ?
Haven't got a clue but I liked his post anyway. It's just the kind of guy I am.

Opinionated, I got a phone call from my son, my daughter took me for a great meal, and my mom gave me money. Then I got the surprise juice yesterday. Not long ago another angel sent me some dog clippers they weren't using anymore. (another angel from this forum) So yes, I have been blessed. Cassie would be looking like a wet mop if I didn't have those clippers, I'll tell you that. It isn't a professional look by any means, but it isn't horrendous either.

Bridget, I haven't made any treats in a long time. The kids aren't here, and it is just me and the pets. None of us at my house really need any treats, but we all love them anyway. Bella is on a diet, Cassie is a little chubby, both the cats need to lose more weight (I cut their food back too), and my son's dog is the only one who always maintains a great weight. He is the only lucky one, and can eat as much as he wants, without getting fat. (just like my son)

Anyone else making Christmas treats? We did peanut clusters tonight. Christmas crack, Texas Millionaire candy, and Neiman Marcus cookies tomorrow.

Just found out the Neiman Marcus cookie story is false.. Dang it. I liked that story!

My baking now is limited to homemade pizza using dough made in my bread machine. Recently I had no pizza sauce in a jar, so I made it from scratch. It was yummy! That’s my version of a treat these days. I do love cupcakes and cookies, but don’t indulge much anymore.

I have a recipe for Cowboy Cookies that are awesome. Rolled oats, crunchy peanut butter and chocolate chips in a butter and flour batter for a base. No idea why they are named Cowboy Cookies - a friend gave me the recipe decades ago. Amazing flavor. I almost tried a pistachio cookie recipe as a holiday treat, but haven’t gotten around to it and probably won’t because I’d eat them all myself. And then where would I be?!?

My male cat is a big boy, but not excessive. He goes bonkers for treats. He also loves to lick hand lotion from your skin. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The female is tiny. She refuses all cat food except kibble. She likes white fish - but only pan-fried in butter. Beef roast, but only if it’s moist. If it’s really good beef, she will growl at you if you get close to her while she’s eating it. Her main daily favorite is tuna, but only if it’s got mayo in it.

My cats are weird. Just like me! :)
