Well I was all excited about my new diffuser. Now I read last night that some oils are not good for pets, especially cats. Last night I was trying to get a list, but I found some conflicting information. So I am going to have to delve into this further. Honestly I go in and out the door so much, I don't think it would hurt the pets. Still, I'd rather not use something that is mentioned as bad. I can diffuse, but not as much as I had planned on doing. Before I just put them on my skin with a carrier oil. I'm saying this so anyone else who has a diffuser and pets, use with caution. I'm working on a list now. For sure it seems no hot oils, nor citrus for cats. No hot oils for dogs such as clove, cinnamon, oregano... Definitely do not use Tea Tree with dogs or cats. There is much more, but those I gather for sure are not safe.
UPDATE: Still checking out this info. The key is high quality oils. I saw a vet say that you could use Lavender and Tea Tree at a 1-2% dilution with a carrier oil such as olive oil. (I say coconut oil is a good carrier oil too) So that would be a 30ml glass bottle filled with olive oil, and add 5 drops of EO to the bottle for a 1% dilution. 10 drops for a 2% dilution. If you diffuse Lavender use about 5 drops of EO to a cup of water in your diffuser. This could take a while for me to get to the bottom of this issue. I will continue to research this.
