You may want to get that puncture looked at. Is it throbbing? swollen? red?

Bonus girl had all 4 wisdom teeth out yesterday. She has state aid so we went to a different Oral Surgeon than I would normally use. Her face is double the normal size and bruises bigger than golf balls. I'd say he was way too rough... won't be going back to him or sending any patients there in the future.

Awwww. Hugs to bonus girl! Yeah, that shouldn’t be so bad. Long ago I worked for an orthodontist and we knew who the “rough” oral surgeons were. Sorry she had one of those.

We rinsed the wound with isopropyl alcohol. Smeared it good with polysporin and put a bandage on it. But being on the foot, we wrapped it with self sticking tape. My feet swell a little at night, and the wrap was then too tight.

Some normal level throbbing. But not abnormally red at this point. I’ll keep an eye for infection because cat scratches can get bad, I know. My feet are very thin. I’d make a great duck LOL! So it didn’t take much for it to be a deep puncture and feel like she knicked the bone.

@LAwaters please do watch it closely!

My doc/boss recommended this OS.. I could strangle her right now..

I will thanks! It’s so wonderful how we all care for each other here. Makes me feel loved. :)

Yep. Don’t blame you for the fierce mama bear feelings you’re having right now. I hope she heals quickly. That’s no fun at all.

With the exception of the main TV (on a cable box), I switched all the other TVs (4 of them) to Roku. Took a bit of an effort to maximize my wifi signal but I got there and they are all running fine now. I added the Spectrum app and watch regular TV on the Rokus now. As for surround sound I don't believe there are many good options for streaming devices. Like David, I have an older 5.1 AVR (actually it's a 7.1 but I use it as a 5.1). In fact, it was one of the last ones before HDMI came out. Kind of frustrating when everything else is HDMI now. Oh well. It's a Pioneer and has been one of the best pieces of electronic equipment I have owned along with the JBL speaker system I got with it. The previous owner of my house ran monster cable through the walls so it was a nice clean hookup. Try taking a look at the newest surround sound AVR's. Holy crap! They do all sorts of things. Technology is changing too fast to keep up with.

Yay! My new tank should be delivered today. Must. Not. Be. Overzealous. In. Cleaning.

May see about stocking up on some more Dragon’s Fire during the sale. The recent nicotine reduction is going well.

So who’s doing big New Year’s partying? Confess!

(Hint: Not me. No way. No how.)

They do a lot, but the sound quality is crappy according to audiophiles. I have a JBL speaker system from the mid-90’s that I love love love! My old Technics receiver died a few years back. I ended up getting a Harmon Kardon receiver with old school hookups (no HDMI) because the sound was rated as cleaner and truer. No fancy sound effects settings and such. Well worth it! My old Technics Quartz direct drive turntable still runs like a champ too. All on Monster Cable, of course.

There are many many ways to run the hookups to work around limitations. Now I’m gonna look up this Spectrum app. Hulu is okay, but their app has been buggy forever. And all ads seem to be those dreadful pharmaceutical ones.

That's a nice sale too. Gonna probably hang out with neighbor on NYE. Not sure if we're gonna drink or shoot off some firearms. But I know we wont do both. :)

Harmon Kardon was my first ever receiver (way back in the 70's). Good stuff. My PC laptop is hooked up to some small HK speakers. Love my JBLs (another old company). Those suckers rumble my living room. Great for watching NASCAR during, "Crank it Up". I also have my 1976 rebuilt BIC Venturi loudspeakers hooked up to the AVR. I use those (along with the JBLs) for music. Awesome! Also still have my old Technics direct drive turntable. It has been mothballed during it's obsolescence life but I could revive it I suppose.

Ah. Spectrum must be a local cable provider. Mine has an app too. But the TV packages are more than I need or want.
You are correct. Must be a subscriber to use the TV app. Spectrum is formerly Time Warner Cable.

Spectrum is the other cable I can get. I've had WOW since I moved in here. So over ten years. But the days are numbered for the video part. I'll keep the cable internet because it's always been stable for the most part.
You're among the few who have cable options. It's Spectrum or bust for us (except internet). We can get AT&T DSL. While Pappy would jump on that because he loves AT&T, I haven't gone for it because it's just too slow. And like you, the Spectrum internet service has been largely reliable.

A fellow audiophile then! My speakers really rumble too. But I’m always conscious of the neighbors downstairs (not that they do the same for us :glare:) so I don’t really crank it much. Sometimes during the day when everyone else goes off to work. It’s funny, as a kid I couldn’t wait to grow up so I could play my music as loud as I wanted. Then I lived in a twin with neighbors close by. And had babies. Then I had the three acres and a single home, but still had babies. Then kids got older but didn’t like my music or wanted theirs on. And concentration needed for coding didn’t lend itself to loud music when they were at school. Now when maybe I could listen loud, I’m in a condo. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Guess it ain’t happening.

I thought wisdom teeth were only taken two at a time? I had a friend a long time ago who has her face really swollen from wisdom teeth being pulled. A USN dentist pulled mine out, and it was a nightmare for me. (too long of a story to get into)

LA, you really need to keep a close eye on that cut, as you know. If you get swelling, pus, fever or any lymph swelling...seek a doctor immediately. If you can afford it, it is best to get it looked at by a doctor anyway. (since this is a deep cat scratch, and you have pain)

I am not a doctor, but this is what I would do if it was me and I couldn't go to to a doctor...

If you have yarrow or plantain, you could crush it and make a poultice. Helichrysum italicum would be good to use around the area, but you probably don't have that. (I don't have that one either) Tea Tree oil near the area, but not in the wound. To stop bleeding you could use Cayenne powder right in the cut to stop bleeding, as long as it isn't in a sensitive area. That is for future reference for bleeding that won't stop with pressure. Myrrh is also good for wounds. (don't put it right into the cut) You have to know the essential oil is not oxidized, and you aren't allergic to it. Also calendula blooms fresh or dried (pot marigold) and lavender will help the wound heal faster. I wouldn't put any essential oil undiluted on my skin, or in a cut. You could use real Aloe Vera gel to dilute it, from a plant preferably. Oh and use only high quality essential oils from a dependable supplier.

I had all four at the same time. And yes, it was a nightmare.

Dang. I’m awake in the wee hours. Might as well have coffee. I’m stuffy nosed and my feline foot puncture wound hurts and woke me up. Grrrr.
Draw a pen outline of the injury area, and if the redness exceeds it, get thee to a hospital. Cat claws have all sorts of bacteria, and you don't want a bone infection - or any other kind.

Agreed - my favorite audio was Aiwa. Dang they were good.
